A word from Amada
Amada is not a typical, trendy tapas restaurant. It is something else entirely. Amada serves authentic Spanish tapas based on the earthy Mediterranean flavors that have long been the passion and expertise of founder and executive chef, Jose Garces - but Chef Garces goes beyond tradition, interpreting centuries-old tapas recipes.

  • "I chose to bring my family to Amada for a special occasion. My mother's 75th birthday because of my past two experiences was amazing. Well, this time the customer service was terrible. The waiter was miserable and uninterested in serving us. I mentioned it was my mother's first time here at this was her 75th birthday he could care less. The food was good, not great. We could have gone to any restaurant but we chose this one because of my past experience. I am not sure if we would ever go back for brunch."

For instance, lavendar honey with an accent of truffle oil for the fruit, cheese and small bread plate! We tasted over 10 different Tapas and more than enjoyed all but the cod. Service was outstanding, food came out quick, warm and delighful."

  • "After all the hype I was excited to try Amada. Sold mediocre with nothing standing out except the appalling valet. After eating I waited at the station for 15 minutes. Seeing no action I walked inside the restaurant and the hostess came out with me, looked all over, went back inside and 5 minutes later the valet shows up with my car. I still had the ticket. Once I got in I realized I must have been the last car and from the smell in the car he had been waiting in it for quite some time."

  • "I can't say enough about our experience at Amada. The food was not your average tapas- everything had big flavor and was clearly made from only the highest quality ingredients. Our service was also impeccable. One person in our party had a serious gluten allergy and the server produced a special menu just for her and announced every dish by specifying if it as safe for her to try. I would recommend the place to anyone and will definitely be going back!"

  • "Had dinner for five Sunday night celebrating a birthday. Lucked out with a table in their semi private room in the back. Food and service was excellent. Sometimes we worry about being forgotten by the the wait staff when seated in a back room. Not so on this visit. We were well attended to, never forgotten but not in an overbearing way. It was just the way we like it. Meatballs are killer. Bacon wrapped dates are unbelievable. It was all great. Make reservations way in advance, very hard to get in."

  • "Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. We have been to two other Chef Garces restaurants, Tinto and Chifa and found them more enjoyable. Here, the spicy potatoes were excellent, as was the filet, cheese and sliced meats (mixto). Not so enjoyable for me was the very fatty pork (could have used a few more beans accompanying). Flatbread was excellent as was chocolate cake for dessert. I'd go again and order differently. Our wait person was okay--just not remarkable and not terribly friendly--but got the job done. Servers delivering plates and clearing the table were very professional and described everything as it was placed on the table. It's a beautiful space and very lively. Be careful not to sit under the air-conditioning vent--too cold!"

  • "We have been here before and the food was great as always. The Wagyu Beef Brochettes and Ensalada De Jamon are amazing. We normally don't get dessert but decided to this time. We got the 3 ice creams and all but 1 was good. The chocolate ice cream tasted like a fudgesicle that had been melted down, literally worse than breyers. The other 2 ice creams were good enough to make up for this so we just didn't eat the chocolate. Otherwise a great meal!"

  • "I ordered a half suckling pig as a Father's Day gift for my husband, dad and father in law. Everyone in my family had a great time and thought the food was incredible. We ordered mixto meat and cheese, grilled octopus, clams and chorizo and bacon wrapped stuffed dates to start. I recommend all, but the octopus was a surprise favorite: smoky and tender. The sides that come with the pig compliment the pork perfectly and the pig itself is just to die for. Especially the crispy skin. This is one of the most indulgent meals I have ever had. I even made room for dessert, Spanish doughnuts: one for everybody was the perfect sweet bite after out savory piggy dinner. The service was excellent as we're the pitchers of tinto sangria!"

  • "For our anniversary my husband and I finally landed a reservation at Amada. While this was not my first time at Amada it was my husband's. The food was simply delicious. We followed many of our waitress's suggestions - garlic shrimp, dates wrapped in bacon, clams and chorizo, we selected a flatbread and so forth. We topped off our dinner sharing the olive oil cake which was wonderful. Our waitress was a total pro. The restaurant is a noisy place though."

I recommend the Piquillos, the croquettes and the Serrano ham/Manchego cheese. The service was excellent and the ambience above average.   • "Probably our 5th time dining at Amada. Started w/ the tradicional Garlic shrimp VG and clams & chorizo OK. next time will get 2 Garlic shrimp. Lamb meatballs are great and went nice with spicy potatoes. Had the Filet Migon & the Lamb chops both VG. Since we always finish meals at home with salad we opted for the Ensalada de Janon rather than a tradintional desert. Spinach with bits of jig and almonds completely wrapped in thinly slice Sarrano ham. VG and a great choice to end a meal. Enjoyed a pitcher of the Temporada sangria which went well with everything. One of the best choices to dine at in the old city area. Wait staff was VG answering questions and good flow of dishes coming out. If you want something in a specific order tell them."

We sat at a table in the bar area so the noise level may have been a bit higher than the dining room, but it was not unpleasant. The service was excellent. The hostess was extremely nice and the server was very knowledgeable provided excellent service. We had a variety of tapas and all were delicious. Some were more excellent than others but you will not go wrong on their menu. We have been here previously and Amada has found the right combination of food, service and ambiance to make this one of our all time favorite places. "

  • "Food was ok, bland and some items came out cold, you can tell items sit on window for long time since you get serve whatever is ready. Overcooked lamb chops, i never complaint but they were too tough ( no steak knife). Got new ones 10 minutes after rest of party were done, they were deliver by a manager who didn't even acknowledge the mistake of well done instead of medium rare. Service polite and friendly started very on the spot but diluted as meal progressed. We were hesitant about dessert after not being blown away, but it took more than 10 minutes for server to come back, so that really helped us decide to skip desserts. Still over $200 for 3 people not worth the money, but hey place is packed, ambiance and decoration are great. "

  • "We had a terrible dining experience and wont return because of the rudeness of staff and/or kitchen.We had friends in town who wanted to dine at an ‘Iron chef restaurant’.We ordered tasting menu with no cheese.First course: cheeseplate! Upon mentioning it the waiter gave me the cold shoulder.We did not get the tuna dip your restaurant serves until we asked twice.Next course: flat bread-Manchego, followed by a barley/Manchego dish!.Called the waiter to remind her"NO CHEESE".It took two requests;she was rude,rolling eyes.Next:hanger steak/blue cheese!Talked to manager who shook his head in our direction.We are disappointed that an experience with friends was marred by the error of wait staff and/or kitchen,followed by their rude attitude. "
