Public Transit: Glacier Valley Transit (GVT) operates a year-round transportation busing system with fixed route service in Girdwood, Alaska. GVT is owned and operated by Girdwood Transportation, LLC and leases employees from Alyeska Resort. GVT is made possible by a grant from the Federal Transit Authority and The Alaska Department of Transportation.

"The buffet at the Pond was very good on both the hot and cold food tables. Knowing the wine from a particular vineyard helped with choosing a very good Cab for the dinner and topping it off with some 'to die for' desserts. Compliments to the chef!"

"We had a reservation at 7pm, we showed up about 10 minutes early and there was already a crowd of people at the door waiting, they talked with the hostess and then were told that everybody would be seated at 7pm. We were also told the same, this to me was not very smooth way to accommodate a very large crowd of people. By the time they started to seat people there was a very large mob trying to get in. We were among the first 10 or so people to get seated, the person sat us down and said nothing to us. We sat there for about 10 min. before we got up and found a person and asked how this worked? They told us that we could go ahead and go thru the buffet line when ever we wanted. We then got in line, the food was cold. butter would not melt."

"Great spot for lunch and the food was consistantly good. went 3 times. Had a bad waiter for dinner and that somewhat spoiled the romantic evening."

"We had the buffet on Christmas. The service was fine, but the food was bland and cold. Not worth the hefty price tag and the gratuity was automatically added onto the ticket (we were only a party of 3). We left hungry and unsatisfied."
