Diner Reviews
  • "Service was great. Food is always excellent. Older clientele felt kinda strange. "

  • "Great, as usual, even though we are only occasional customers."

  • "Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. The service was great, and we were helped by several members of the staff, all of whom were extremely friendly. The food was good too. I'm not a foodie like she is (I either like something of I don't), but we both really enjoyed our meal (Chicken Linguine Carbonara and Salmon with angel hair pasta). They have a large wine selection as well. Overall a great experience."

  • "Dined here for the first time and was absolutely amazed how good the restaurant was after being opened for 25 years. We will be back soon."

  • "The Singer was FANTASTIC, excellent voice, the piano player and vocal accompanist was super !"

  • "We go often, but have never been during live music. We have been missing out!! Love the food, staff attention and music. Perfect night!"

  • "We were looking for a quiet but not boring evening and found it here. Can't remember when we have been to a piano bar but this was great. There was music but it was not so loud that you could not still talk. It was part of the experience without being the only thing going on. We really enjoyed the entire experience. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was fresh and hot. We will go back definitely!"

  • "Consistently delicious food, service and reasonable prices. The live music and energetic diners put it in a class above all other restaurants. We are never disappointed."

  • "Wonderful food, service, wine and best of all entertainment. We always enjoy our visit to Altobeli's."

  • "This is a great restaurant tucked away in a strip mall in Alpharatta. We live an hour away and wanted to give them a try. The food is very good; it is prepared well and served attractively. Perhaps some of the portions could be a bit larger, but that is the only thing of note. Seasoning is excellent; definitely say yes to the freshly ground pepper and the Parmesan cheese. The service is excellent. The one server assistant (the gentleman with a shaved head) should get a raise; he never once stopped moving or stopped refilling drinks at tables. Excellent service. The restaurant is cozy -- it's not modern, and it shouldn't be. The musical entetainment the night we dined was excellent. It seems we discovered our new favorite Italian restaurant."

  • "Excellent food and service, older crowd, live entertainment Decor quite dated"

  • "Visit was to celebrate dual birthdays...his & hers...service was excellent as was ambience. Food was very good , especially the night's special appetizer - a stuffed red pepper. Only issue was the pasta Alfredo side dish that came with my entree was not up to Altobeli's usual standards. As I mentioned that to the waiter he asked if I wanted another serving...what???another serving of a dish that wasn't that good to start with?? I respectively declined. Otherwise the evening was delightful, the birthday was celebrated and we went home happy. We would and will visit Altobeli's again."

  • "Atore was our waiter. He provided us with excellent service and was one of the 3 singers. He did an excellent job at both and made our evening very enjoyable."

  • "This was my second visit to this restaurant. I really enjoyed it and decided to treat my boyfriend for Valentine's day. He loves Italian food and music. He ordered lasagna and after one bite indicated that it was a two thumbs up! Overall we had a wonderful night. We will return and hope to have another great night of food and music."

  • "I have heard great things about this restaurant but they obviously cannot handle special occasions. The menu was limited and the portions were tiny. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed by 4 tables and gave us little assistance or attention. I don't understand why we were so rushed when there was no one waiting and the restaurant really wasn't that packed. My biggest problem though was having to listen to a waiter at the tables on the other side of the room as us yell at the poor food runner. He was actually yelling, in front of the entire restaurant at this poor lady. I don't care if she made a mistake or not, it is horrible to see staff treat each other that way. Also, the manager passing out coupons for a neighboring store was not a good touch"

  • "Tried Altobeli's for the first time on Valentine's Day and had a great experience. The ambience is wonderful and I will definitely have to go back to have the ravioli with spinach and walnut sage sauce."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Just because the entrees are written in Italian doesn't mean they are. The food was just ok. The "nearly famous" Pasta E Fagioli is chicken noodle soup with mostaccoli pasta. There is no gnocchi, minestrone, the ravioli is in the "healthier selections" menu. The majority of the menu is made of veal and everything is cooked in some sort of wine reduction sauce. Most of the food is more American than Italian. The limencello mascarpone cake tasted like they defrosted a Marie Callender's grocery store cake and put it on a plate, no presentation, or taste. The menu is extremely expensive, I was really excited about eating here after reading all the reviews, but was disappointed. It is hard to find true Italian in Atl, when your from Chi."

  • "The Steak Au Poive was excellent and I'm a steak snob. The calamari was just ok-had better elsewhere. Desserts were also great-we had key like pie and canolie. Caesar salads were bland. The service was excellent and timely. They over cooked my steak the first time but recognized and brought another one out very quickly. We will definitely go back. The prices were very reasonable as well."

  • "After spending on average $150-$250 at dinner, we felt it quite crass for you to ask us to get up and go to the crowded bar. Thus, your service and rude behavior requesting us to get up from our table, not once, but three times, has prompted us to not ever dine at your restaurant again, and ensure others know how you treat what were once loyal customers of yours."

  • "My wife and I came here for a date night. We were recommended by friends. Food was pretty good. Service left a little to be desired but wasn't bad. We were a little overdressed because we expected it to be fancy. Was a more casual atmosphere. The best part was the gentleman who was signing live for the diners. Not sure if we'll return but it wasn't bad."

  • "Hadn't been to altobellis for 10 years. Not sure why. Food still good, priced reasonably. I'd call it neighborhood Italian. Bar singers sing the same songs, haven't lost a note in 10 years. Oh, they are the SAME people, as is the owner, the waiters, the bartenders (Kathy is #1 singer, too). A good fun place. Going back soon!"

  • "Give this nice restaurant a try. You'll love it. Recommend the salmon piccata. Good and service. Good live music too."

  • "Outstanding experience. It all starts at the top: Owner Al served us and made us feel like we were family in his home with warm gracious style The music and singing (especially the staff's singing) are awesome - clearly everyone who works there is passionate about their job, and it is palpable. Wish we had this restaurant in Vinings We drove thirty minutes to get there and will do it again and again."

  • "My wife and I like Italian food and decided to go here based on good reviews by others. They were correct. We both had veal dishes and they both were excellent. Service also was excellent. The wine list was very adequate for us. We wish the restaurant were closer to where we live, but we definitely recommend it to anyone wanting good Italian food."

  • "We first found out about Altobeli's via Scout Mob. Monday night is the only night they do not have live music but they had half off bottles of wine. The food, the service, everything is great. We'll be back as much as we can!!!"

  • "The meal was good, the service was so-so . We love the piano bar and music and that's why we have returned."

  • "We went there with friends and had a great time. We were not in a hurry and did not feel rushed at all. They do not try to turn tables over, so dinner was very relaxed. The food was very good and our waiter was great. The bar was limited, the wine list was pretty extensive. At the end of the night we partied at the piano bar. The singers had fantastic voices. My wife and I danced to our wedding song and just had a great time."

  • "Altobelli's never fails. The food and service is excellent. There is always a special appetizer, entree and dessert every night that is to die for. The live entertainment, piano bar and numerous vocalists from all sorts of genre - classical, R&B, top 40, latin, pop make Altobelli's a wonderful neighborhood gem. This is a wonderful venue for all ages."

  • "We recently hosted a customer dinner at Altobeli's. The food was excellent, service was prompt courteous, yet not intrusive. On top of that, they had a jazz duo that night entertaining us with some classics without being so loud as to drown out our conversation. Going back soon!"

  • "We only went here because we had a gift card. Would not return. There are so many, much better restaurants in Alpharetta. Menu and decor need updating."
    Dined on 1/3/2014
  • "Wow. What a find. The pianist and the singers are exceptional, the food is good, the patrons all seem to be having a great time, mingling, a little romantic dancing and just sitting mesmerized by the singers and music. This place is a must-return."
    Dined on 1/4/2014
  • "This is a restaurant you'll want to return to after dining their the first time. Authentic Italian food. Not too much. Not too little. Attentive wait staff. Gentle piano music in the background...not overpowering. Service tends to be faster than slower. Great for busy folks who don't like to rush but don't like to dawdle either."

  • "They did a fantastic job with a very affordable menu ! The service was great, the food was good and we all has a great time! The music was a big plus and it made New Year's Eve very merry!"
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "Group went to restaurant on New Years Eve expecting the same service and good food as noted in previous reviews. Food was wonderful, but the servcie was fair at best. When we arrived we were "pointed" to our table and certainly did not feel that we as customers were important to the staff. Took over 15 minutes to receive our drinks, staff failed to keep water glasses full and acted offended when a refill was requested. Did not at any time feel like we could relax and enjoy a nice dinner. Appetizers and salads were very good, but once again the staff pushed to remove plates quickly. It took quite a while to recieve our main course, which was not a problem except that two of the seven of us recieved luke warm meals. Do not recommend"

  • "I wish we lived closer and could make it a regular visit! Great food! Excellent Service!"
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "Food courses occasionally arrive too close together. Part of the reason may be that it was a busy night. Bar service is great, as is the local feel of the entertainment."
    Dined on 12/21/2013
  • "Service was quick, as desired. Removing the dishes a bit rough. Asked for brandy, only "house" was available but still good! Food to go was wrapped in plastic bags. Perhaps card-board should be used. Food was excellent! Price was super competitive compared to service received. Merry Christmas and H.N.Y.!"
    Dined on 12/27/2013
  • "I love their menu as it offers a terrific variety of red, white, or wine sauces along with a pleasant variety of seafood, veal, chicken, and beef. They do not overwhelm you with pasta either. Their lunch menu is smaller but is a terrific value and the food is excellent! My new favorite Italian restaurant!"
