The food was fantastic, the service was amazingly attentive without being stifling, and the whole experience was wonderful. We sat inside, only because it seemed a bit noisy on the street with cars buzzing by, but most of the people dining that night seemed to be outside and enjoying it. We always have an amazing meal and it is a wonderful ambience. The owner obviously takes great pride and joy in his restaurant. We started off with the octopus, it was very good, not as moist as I would have like but again very good. I had actually had octopus at another place the night before which was extremely moist probably not as healthy as this version was. Altamare is one of just a few favorites. The contemporary american preparations don't overwelm the fresh ingredients. Service is attentive without being intrusive.
