Food quite good. Appetizers excellent, Salads the same. Great desert {we split it} The attire for a restaurant was, in our opinion, unacceptable! Shorts on young men with tank tops showing tattoos everywhere, hairy armpits etc. NASTY! Our server was exceptionally good, even to the point of not recommending a certain cut of beef. For a small town restaurant it was impressive.

We miss the Sunday brunch - that was really nice. The food now is ok, but not worth the price in our opinion. A lovely place but it needs some attention to detail. Get rid of the (one per customer) half teaspoon pks of butter. Ugh. Have the nightly special priced more like a special! My side of vegetables consisted of 3 green beans, 3 small pieces of squash, and 3 tiny broccolli florets. The baked potato was very small and very dry. The sirloin was tough - I know this isn't the most tender cut of beef, but things can be done to improve it. Sad to say we won't go back. Lovely restaurant with a lot of potential but lacking in a lot of ways

Lovely menu, location, atmosphere, interior, wine and cocktail list. Pricing just right for the quality and variety of of food they offer. Learned that Almost Home uses locally raised/grown meats and seasonal produce. A HUGE plus, in my book. Our server, Josh, was lovely, too! Highly recommend Almost Home.

Not sure if the busy night impacted service and food prep. Typically one of my favorite resturaunts. All of our steaks were significantly over cooked , wife's salmon dry, service extremely slow. Something has changed. Not what we had experienced in past visits.

This was our first visit to Almost Home, but it won't be our last. The atmosphere was very pleasing...almost like dinner in an old home. I mean old home in the very best way. Nice high metal stamped ceilings, comfortable furnishings, and decorations many provided by local artists and vendors. We went on a Friday evening with reservations, but on our arrival there were plenty of tables available. This is a college town and perhaps when summer is over it won't be as easy to "walk in". The food here is ample, flavorful, and appealing on the plate. I had apple bacon pork loin and it didn't disappoint. My wife enjoyed the espresso and spice rubbed filet which was very tender and tasty. Save room for desert.....

Family dinner for 6 to commemorate our daughters graduation from DePauw University. Even though it was the Sat night during graduation (very busy!), the personnel, food and service were fantastic. Prompt and attentive service, our food was served hot, on time and delicious. Thanks for a great night!

I've been here several times & have never had anything that wasn't delicious. This time I had the Almost Home Favorite which comes with 1/2 Sandwich, a small salad & a bowl of soup. The chicken salad on wheatberry bread was excellent. Moist chicken, delicately flavored & served on that yummy bread! I chose the lemon vinaigrette for the salad & cream of broccoli soup. Both were delicious. Service is very attentive & friendly. I love the comfortable, homey atmosphere & appreciate the well-spaced tables. I can't wait to go back!

Things got off to a rocky start when we arrived and they announced that they do not service meals between 4 and 5 PM. I said that we had made a reservation through OpenTable for 4:00 and that changed everything! We could have the lunch menu and/or dessert. Our server seemed uncertain aobut some of the ingredients, but did go to the kitchen to get clarification. The food was flavorful, but everything came out cool, even the tomato soup (whcih we sent back to the kitchen to be heated). This is a much-needed restauant for Greencastle, so my hope is that they will up their game. We woudl like to go back and try their dinner menu. DePauw students and parents need this alternative!!

My wife and I recently moved to this area and we were disappointed with the food options of the area. Everything seemed to be fast food or overpriced grease pits. While being frustrated one afternoon with having to drive 40 min to eat someplace nice with my wife, I did a search and came across Almost Home. We decided to give it a try. Wow! We cannot give this place a good enough review. They offer an outstanding menu with an excellent wine selection and dessert options. The service and atmosphere was outstanding and very accommodating. We certainly didn't expect to find a place like this in the area. We highly reccommend Almost Home, even if you're not from the area. Worth a drive for those even outside of the community.

This was our first time at Almost Home. The food was superb. We had stuffed shrimp and filet. Both were excellent. The rub on the steak was unique and delicious! The quintet from DePauw added beautiful music to complete the dining experience. I'd recommend going on Wednesday nights when the University students play. What a wonderful experience for the young musicians and the diners alike. They are very accomplished. It was like a free ISO concert! The resturant also had a great selection of beer and wines. Overall, a real gem. Worth the drive if you're looking to get away from your usual restaurants in Indianapolis.

Great atmosphere...wonderful service...food tasted great but only warm! Salmon overcooked & dry but shrimp was spot on! Love the rolls. Very busy night so speed was the key...not quality of food! Would go there again.

The restaurant has a warm and friendly feel. The service was slow even though it was a slow night with several tables empty. When the salads and bread were served there were no bread plates brought out. The gumbo soup was very good. The steak I ordered was medium rare as ordered but was only warm. The vegetables were cold and I had to ask that they be warmed up. One member of our party had to send the steak back because it was cold. Although I did not partake in a desert other members of our party did and said the desert was wonderful. There is a bar attached to the restaurant. I think with a little effort from the kitchen and staff that this could be a great place to eat.

This was our first trip to the bar. We enjoyed it very much. We intentionally dine early because we prefer conversation and ambiance to the "late nite loud crowd".....been there, done that......some time ago. The atmosphere was welcoming, decor was appealing and wait staff very polite and efficient. Each one of our party of 4 had a different entree, and were all well satisfied with our meals. It is nice to have an upscale place for mature adults to go to enjoy a drink with a delicious meal and good conversation. We will be back.

My husband and I have eaten here a few times and have enjoyed our meals every time. My mother-in-law came from out of state and I decided to take her here. We both tried the Christmas Tea and complimented our meal just wonderfully. She had the Cesar salad and I had the soup of the day. We both had 1/2 a rack of ribs and they were delicious. Our server was very attentive as well as the other staff members. The meal and the service was great. This restaurant is a gem!
