A word from Almond
Almond, an American bistro located in New York City’s bustling Flatiron District, combines the best of farm-to-table cuisine in a casually elegant atmosphere.
Co-owner and Executive Chef Jason Weiner offers a menu of accessible dishes that put market-fresh ingredients center stage. Classic Almond dishes include Steamed Black Mussels with Shallots and White Wine and Roast Chicken with Hand-Crushed Potatoes and Natural Jus, while a list of “plats du jour” range from Roasted Whole Fish to Heritage Farms Porkchop to Rack of Lamb.
Our wine list, handpicked by co-owner Eric Lemonides, offers an affordable selection of wines from regions across France and California. A specialty cocktail list, New York state craft beer selection, and raw bar selections are all available, along with our entire menu, at the restaurant’s spacious 20-seat bar.

Private dining spaces are perfect for larger parties and a hidden European-style billiards room adds to the restaurant’s charm.

Diner Reviews
  • "Everything about this restaurant was excellent! All four people in our party had an enjoyable time and fantastic food. Highly recommend for brunch and the duck hash was superb. We will definitely return here, possibly for dinner and drinks next time!"

  • "It was my second time at Almond. The first time was for lunch, it was unpack, people were very friendly. My second try, for dinner, was disappointed. Drinks took for ever to come. The menu was not appealing and the food served was OK, not excellent considering the price we paid. Will try again for brunch."

  • "Almond takes a traditional brunch menu of comforting favorites and elevates each dish with surprising ingredients and preparations- Excellent food consistently- Noise levels are a bit trying- but that is because the atmosphere is open and casual- and its popularity make it a crowded destination on weekends"

  • "Decent food, but nothing I would go back to repeat unless I was out of options. Ricotta Pancakes seemed good. Duck confit hash was nothing special. Waitress seemed to be either new and un-knowledgeable or hungover. My party guessed the latter. It's a surprisingly large place, seems like it would be good for groups."

  • "Wanted a place with good food where we could actually carry on a conversation without shouting. We asked for a table away from the noise. We were seated in a large booth in the back where we could stretch out, have a wonderful meal, and talk in moderate tones. Overall a terrific experience. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly, professional, made for a pleasant evening. Would definitely recommend."

  • "The food is always exceptional. Great portions, everything is tasty and cooked to perfection. However, I have been there numerous times and the service is always hit or miss."

  • "I'm not sure how to explain this restaurant other then OK. The food was very tasty, but nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a tasty meal it is certainly worth a try, but it's not a place I would recommend running to or even going back to. The food didn't stand out and the price was rather high."

  • "Have eaten before at Almond NYC so we were disappointed in our most recent experience, not all entrees were not up to their normal standard, not well cooked or not hot when served. But we like Almond, and also its eastern LI version, and chalk it up to an off night."

  • "Came in for lunch and have sporadically enjoyed Almond's hospitality in the past. Food was delicious and their Lunch prix-fixe menu is an outstanding deal, both in price and food quality. Will still definitely be back!"

  • "Stumbled upon this place just walking around the neighborhood. I was intrigued by the Vespa parked outside, as I love any kind of French food. The hybrid French-American bistro menu is sure to please any foodie, and the diverse wine list surprises as well. Celebrated my first wedding anniversary here with my wife. Our server was great, and even brought us a free dessert. Thanks!! Highly recommended. Might've found a new favorite spot in the neighborhood!"

  • "The staff was nice, the food was good for the most part. I had fish and my fiance had steak. His steak was a little more well done than he ordered and my fish wasn't as hot as I would have liked it, but the flavors were really great. I had requested a dessert with a candle for my fiance's birthday and they didn't bring anything out. Just the check after we finished eating. Overall it was not amazing, not bad... just good."

  • "Been there a few times and was a little disappointed this time. Branzino was not particularly good and was a very small portion. I didn't like the accompanying 'mix' at all. Brussels sprout salad is very tasty. Mac and cheese is very tasty."

  • "I was craving for a prix fix set lunch and searched for something that's suitable for my dietary restrictions. Searched all over and found Almond from a blog. They turned out to be great! The menu had several options to choose from. I had the Quinoa with winter veggies, the dish was hearty and very tasty! The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't an option for dessert - they had option of house wine or beer."

  • "The quality, presentation and taste of the food were wonderful. Our waiter could have used a lesson in table manners."

  • "Server was a little shakey on special for the night, although the service from the host and attention to detail on request from opentable was spot on. Food was prepared perfect to order and Bacon Appetizer was worth sharing with friends and family. Overall well worth the prices. Local brew beers always a plus. Would dine again."

  • "Needed a spot for a business lunch that afforded a relaxing atmosphere - a bit of "in" and an ability to converse....found it at Almond. Appetizers were fabulous....recommend highly the brussel sprouts!!...entrees more than "fine" ... will go again...."

  • "Every time I go to Almond, I'm not disappointed. I've been for brunch and dinner numerous times, and every dish I get is wonderful. It's my neighborhood staple when i want to take friends or family somewhere I know everyone can find something they like - and they always do. Props to Almond for always being a great experience."

  • "Place was busy for a Sunday evening, which is a good sign. Food and service were spot on. Marinated octopus was a bit under seasoned but the cavatelli was very well done. Sticky toffee date cake was a bit pedestrian."

  • "My friend and I enjoyed Sunday brunch at Almond! The service was excellent, even as the restaurant filled up. We ordered two cocktails: one off the menu and one that the bartender was able to create for us. We split the ricotta pancakes and the almond hash, both of which were outstanding. And it was a lot of food. But we still managed to eat those wonderful mini biscuits they give. Overall, an excellent dining experience and we will return."

  • "Food was wonderful! Service great! Best mussels since San Francisco 1988! Brussels sprouts were amazing! I would love the recipe, I shared with a friend and she wanted To take them back with her . I took a slice of milk chocolate and caramel pie, but never had a chance to enjoy it! Hope the maid liked it! Would recommend to anyone . Great food, great service and reasonable prices!"

  • "I'm a huge fan of Dinner at Almond, but hadn't been there for Brunch before. It was fantastic, same great service with one of the broadest food selections I've seen at Brunch in sometime - ideal for groups. We were able to order great seafood items like chilled lobster to start, and then things you'd expect for brunch like Eggs Florentine and Buttermilk Waffles. The Almond Hash (duck hash) is the way to go if you want something hearty. Major points on having celery-salted rims for the Bloody Marys too!"

  • "Almond was recommended by family members who work in the neighborhood. I was taking a client and colleagues to lunch. Only thing I can say is that the food was very good, very tasty, nicely presented and of good size; not too little, not overwhelming. It was an early lunch so hard to comment on what might be at other times. But, my guests' first reaction to the room and feel of the place was "very cool". I don't think you'll be disappointed!"

  • "best brussels sprouts i've ever had- the hot & cold salad! everything else was to die for. i'll definitely continue to go back :-)"

  • "great restaurant: nice ambience, solid and consistent food. went with a group of 6 and were seated with only 4 while we waited for the others, which I appreciated. We ordered scallop and fennel crudo (best appetizer, nice balance of flavors), marinated octupus (too chewy), short ribs (good), brussel sprouts(too greasy and a little undercooked for my taste), mushroom dashi, roasted cauliflower (good), beet salad (too little beets for a beet salad but otherwise nicely seasoned), smoked duck breast (nicely presented but too dry), arctic char (best standout dish of the night)."

  • "That's what my daughter thinks anyway, but the rest of the food there is delicious too and the service was very friendly. I had 4 "tweeen" girls with me and the waiter treated them/us like royalty. Love this place."
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "I hate writing the but in the headline--yet I can't help it. The food was terrific. Homey--if your mother were an amazing cook who elevated the lowly Brussel sprout with a hot/col Caesar Salad presentation that made it a great dish--not just a great salad or veggie or starter. The pork chop was as good as any kind of piece of meat I have had in ages. The service is friendly and attentive. I think the but is for the decor/atmosphere. A little faux Vermonty, with a touch of hipster. Still, I'd go back. And soon."

  • "Came here for Valentine's Day weekend brunch. Nothing but great reviews. The hosts were calm and friendly during rush hour. No snubs of the sort. The crowd all came to have a good time The waiter was pleasant, helpful with the menu and not pushy at all. Refilled drinks when necessary and was always around when needed. Can't say nothing but good things about this place."

  • "We had to wait for a long time to get a table despite our reservation, but the food was excellent and the managers/waitstaff were exceptionally accommodating to the delay...would definitely recommend/go back."

  • "I booked this restaurant because I had a previous experience there. It was one of the only ones left on Open Table for an 8pm reservation on Valentines day. The food turned out too rich for my taste. Too much salt in dishes. Not what I seek in a healthy lifestyle. Service was not timely. Seemed like the manager was more attentive than our Server. Yes, it was a busy night, but there was enough staff to manage."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We had a pretty bad experience, unfortunately. Our cauliflower appetizer was almost inedible - it wasn't cooked through. One of us had to hold it in place while the other cut it. Shouldn't that type of dish slice away at the touch of a butter knife? My short rib gnocchi was basically two honking pieces of beef placed on top of about 7 pieces of pasta. I love a steak, but I would have ordered one if I had known that's what this was. And the service was courteous, but VERY slow and clumsy. For example, hen we ordered dessert (vanilla ice cream - hard to mess up), I asked for it twice and it then arrived so late that I had already signed the check. I should've known when I booked 3 days in advance for a holiday and a table was available."

  • "I wish I had written this review sooner, so I could remember more details! The ambiance here was perfect, the light, everything. The noise level was just how I like it, never getting too overwhelming to talk. We got there a little before dinner started, so we started at the bar. The bartender helped my boyfriend pick a drink for me while I was in the restroom, a prosecco cocktail, which he just gave to use b/c it was my brithday. Our server was lovely and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. She offered drink and food recommendations, even going so far as to have the bar make a discontinued drink for me that she thought I'd like. I could eat their braised short ribs and house made pasta forever-- and I probably will, as soon as I can."

  • "I had expected more after reading some reviews and it got off to a great start. We were seated as soon as we got there (with a reservation). The bread basket with biscuits was delicious and the virgin bloody marys were tasty. However the service had a tendency to wander and there was a long stretch when no one really looked in our direction. And the food fell in the very average range- The chicken sausages were very bland, the croque with bone marrow sounded far more interesting than it was. The chorizo omelette was decent and the hash was good, though a touch one dimensional (you could really throw some greens on the side to balance out the plate). All in all while the experience was not unpleasant I would prefer a better thought out plate."

  • "Had a great meal and could hear the person with my fully! Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Just wish it didn't take as long for the waiter to offer us the bill at the end because I was running out of things to say to my lunch date but he was a good waiter nonetheless."
