Almond, an American bistro located in New York City’s bustling Flatiron District, combines the best of farm-to-table cuisine in a casually elegant atmosphere.
Co-owner and Executive Chef Jason Weiner offers a menu of accessible dishes that put market-fresh ingredients center stage. Classic Almond dishes include Steamed Black Mussels with Shallots and White Wine and Roast Chicken with Hand-Crushed Potatoes and Natural Jus, while a list of “plats du jour” range from Roasted Whole Fish to Heritage Farms Porkchop to Rack of Lamb.
Our wine list, handpicked by co-owner Eric Lemonides, offers an affordable selection of wines from regions across France and California. A specialty cocktail list, New York state craft beer selection, and raw bar selections are all available, along with our entire menu, at the restaurant’s spacious 20-seat bar.

Private dining spaces are perfect for larger parties and a hidden European-style billiards room adds to the restaurant’s charm.

  • "Food, atmosphere and outdoor seating were all good. The service was terrible. We waited a long while for anyone to approach the table and getting our order taken didnt happen for about 25 min into sitting. We had to ask for milk for the coffees 4 times before eventually asking a table busser for it. It was not crowded, so its hard to understand the problem. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, the waitress was cold, mean and rude. She seemed like she didnt want to be there. She couldnt muster a smile, a hello, or really any basic waitress skills. She pretty much ruined the whole experience. The 4 of us will not be coming back."

  • "The caprese salad and whole Branzini for two that we shared were very especially fresh and good. However, the Branzini would have been better without the bitter tomato based sauce smothered on the sides on the plate. The service was another matter. The waiter was generally good but insisted that my drink order was Absolut and grapefruit juice. I had ordered Absolut with cranberry and grapefruit juice. When I told him, he added a small amount of cranberry juice, which changed the color, but not the taste. Also, he insisted I had ordered what he originally brought. The restaurant made a big deal about fileting the fish, insisting that they prefer to be more "rustic." I could see that if it was a fish for one."

  • "I live near Almond, but for whatever reason had never eaten there. Now that I have, there is no question that I will again. I went with two friends for dinner and enjoyed the unusually cool summer weather at an outside table. We each had two courses and loved all of them. Highlights were the summer salad, smoked bluefish on an amazing potato latke, and decadently delicious truffled mac 'n' cheese. Service was friendly, but a little spotty. The waiter was genuinely warm, but hard to flag down. The busboy was delightful. He overheard us talking about the mini bottles of Tabasco and brought us each a couple to take home. Just the kind of touch that makes a good impression. We didn't try any desserts, but maybe next time."

  • "The service was excellent. Very attentive without being annoying. The was good but nothing special. The noise level was extremely loud and took away from the whole experience. You could not even hear the person right next to you. Other tables were having problems with conversations and you could tell diners were a bit aggravated by the loudness. My suggestion is that if it is not too hot to dine outside where one could enjoy the experience more. Please note that I really wanted to love the whole experience here but the noise level was just too much!"

We thought the kitchen may have forgotten about us since other tables around us who were sat after us were served before us. But, we did enjoy our meal. I would maybe recommend not sitting in the corner. Outside tables on a nice breezy day look to be the best."

Even the small charcuterie plate was ample; loved the chicken liver and duck and the non-meat accompaniments. The ambience was best outside as the interior was playing a mix of 70's- 80's music too loudly. I'd say the bright interior is best during the day. The wines by the glass were disappointing."

  • "It used to be one of our favorite spots for brunch, but after this visit it is no longer. It started with a booking that was not respected, with no one bothering to let us know about it, continued with a completely indifferent receptions who basically could not care less (our friends were supposed to fly that afternoon), and ended with food reservations that were not followed and with totally mediocre food, at best. My feeling is that after year in which the place struggled, it is now very popular, which makes the owners disrespect their clientele. This is a sure way downhill, and rightfully so."

  • "We had a get together for six people and they placed us at a round table, intimate but spacious enough. We were able to hear each other talk, a big plus in NYC. The food was excellent in every respect, from the entrees to the appetizers to the fantastic add-ons (beautifully cooked vegetables like fennel and fingerling potatoes. The portions were large, fish, chicken, pasta, whatever it was, the presentation artful and the service timely and accurate. Would not hesitate to recommend Almond, a large and perfectly decorated restaurant, to anyone."

Everything on the menu is house made and it shows in the quality and taste. The atmosphere is funky yet comfy and the sidewalk patio is perfect on a nice day. Enjoy any meal or a drink in the bar, you won't be disappointed!"

Drinks are simple, yet delicious. Food is the star. Great portions and flavors. I recommend the Arugula and Baby Artichoke salad, Asparagus with Fried Egg, Lamb two ways, any of the Steaks, as well as all of the daily specials.   • "We had a reservation for 10:30, when they opened. They called the night before to confirm, which we did. Still, they seemed a little unprepared when we arrived at 10:28 a.m. Helpful, but also caught unawares. It was a solid 15 minutes before a waiter came to offer water and drinks, which was okay because we were settling the baby. I'm sure that these delays were simply due to us being there the second they opened, because service was excellent from then on. The brunch menu is nicely varied. I had the Almond Hash which I thought was very good, but very rich. My husband had the tamales, and he loved them. The biscuits with apple butter? Perfection. Having housemade baby food on the menu is awesome. My little guy loved the yogurt & bananas."

  • "I have been to Almond twice. Both times the food was great and the service was awful. The first time I went it took over an hour to receive our main course. The second time, it took over an hour to get our drinks at brunch. They finally comped our drinks but not until we asked twice and had to request to speak to the manager. It is a shame because the menu is creative, the food good, and the location convenient. But given the poor quality of service I'm not sure I can in good faith bring anyone else!"

  • "I dined for the third time at Almond. I go there when I want great food, great service, I want to impress my guests and I've not yet been disappointed. The Brussels Sprouts Caeser Salad is still my favorite. We also had oysters which are always fresh and delicious. The Braised Beef Short Ribs are not to be missed. For main courses my guest loved the Roasted Chicken,"the best she's ever had." We also the Arctic Char, Flatiron Steak with a scrumptious bleu cheese sauce and the House Made Cavetelli with house made pork and veal sausage which I highly recommend. We loved their Sticky Toffee Date Cake for dessert. Word, I can't wait to go back for another delightful meal!"

  • "Four of us went on a double date at Almond on a Sunday evening. The staff is friendly. helpful, and knowledgeable. Our waiter was able to recommend cocktails, both on and off the cocktail list and we enjoyed all our selections. We shared Italian fries (just ok) and a side of brussel sprouts (awesome!). We really enjoyed both the croques we ordered and the flatiron steak was really excellent (cooked perfectly). The fish and chips is ok, but other dishes are better. Over all, a wonderful experience."

When we finally did get there, right outside were the groups preparing for the 8th annual dance parade, which was just fantastic - the music, costumes & ambience was just fantastic.   • "Our parents come to NYC to celebrate mother's day every year. i love to choose the perfect place for brunch that my mom and dad will enjoy! my parents LOVED almond! i'd been a couple times before and thought they would like it. the restaurant is centrally located and easy to get to so we arrived right on time for our reservation. i requested a table outside (it was a gorgeous day!) and we were seated right away. the hosts were very enthusiastic about welcoming us! i loved the little flower seed gift for the mom's! after brunch, madison square park is perfect for a stroll in one of NYC's iconic districts. our food was delish, it was a beautiful day, our service was excellent! most importantly mom really enjoyed her day! thanks almond!"

  • "My third visit to Almond. Why? Because every time I've been there, we've had a fantastic experience. There is such a great energy from the time you walk in the door! We were seated promptly and had those fabulous cocktails. I love the Meyers and Tea, my guest had the Pomeganate and Ginger. We started with the Brussels Sprouts salad that was like a caesar salad only with Brussels Sprouts and the freshest oysters. My date ordered the Arctic Char and I had the Flatiron Steak with an amazing blue cheese sauce. The server convinced us to order a side of mac & cheese which was among the best I ever had. We shared this amazing dessert called The Sticky Toffee Date Cake. I look forward to going back soon! "
