They don't really have lunch fair either, and the waitress kept saying "tonight we have" even though it was 11am. Just felt obnoxious. The dinner fare was delicious and the location is great. Excellent selections and service was outstanding. Portions are favorable, as well. Most recently had the scallops which were the best I've had. We visited in the late evening, and we still got the great vibe of the area. The outdoor seating with a central fireplace looked like a great place to enjoy a drink with friend on a cool evening.
The menu is Mediterranean, with a primary focus on Italian food, mostly seafood focused. We had their version of a Caprese salad with roasted eggplant and burrata, and it was delicious. My wife had the Prosciutto-wrapped cod with the shrimp Risotto, and the flavors complemented each other well. The wine list is approachable and reasonably priced. Our waiter was okay, not great. It was close to closing, so we didn't mind. Hopefully it was a fluke.

The decor is lovely and though always crowded, it is possible to carry on a conversation. The food is inventive but simple and very flavorful. My husbands sirloin steak was tough and chewy. My swordfish was ok, but not as tasty as I've had it before and the lobster mashed potatoes which normally have rather large chunks if lobster in them, had small pieces I could barely find. We had Gwen for a server so the service was excellent, but some of the other servers aren't so great. The outdoor seating is very nice and scenic in the warm weather. The only negative thing I would say is its pricey compared to other just as good, if not better,restaurants near by. Overall, a little overrated compared to great restaurants around. According to our waitress there are no microwaves..which seems great..but it might be worth buying ONE. When we were discussing where to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, Alma Nove was a easy choice and we were not disappointed. It had been a beautiful day so we were able to have a cocktail outside by the fire. Service was terrific and our meals were fabulous. I requested a special table which was waiting for us when we arrived. Our food, as always was fantastic. This is one of our favorite restaurants on the South Shore and look forward to our next visit. It's a beautifully constructed restaurant with great ocean views. During the warmer months, it's nice to sit outside on their comfortable lounge furntiture in front of the fire pit with a cocktail. You can dine outside as well. Also, they do offer a kid's menu. However, I wouldn't recommend it for small children if you are dining in the evening.
