Loved this place. Great atmosphere. Good service (Thomas was a great waiter). Plenty of options on the menu, a good sized gluten-free menu (including the rare gluten free beer on tap!), and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it if you are in the Downtown ATL area. Works for families, business travelers (why I was there), or casual dining. Dress code is pretty much whatever you want it to be, but ever so slightly more upscale than t-shirt and jeans. Go there without hesitation.

My coworker and I picked this restaurant on a whim off of OpenTable.com. We were blown away by the fried cheese appetizer and roasted chicken dish. Both were VERY flavorful. The service was great as well. Will definitely return when in Atlanta again.

We dine here just about everytime we have to work in Atlanta and only once in all those timeshave we had a dicey meal because of issues between management and serving staff. Tonight we had an early shared plate meal before attending a concert and each dish was better than the previous one. The food was spot on. The pork belly appetizer special was a visual presentation and such a combination of flavors that left us wanting more. The lamb ribs were superb, succulent, tender, flavorful. We ordered the fried avacado tacos as something different. They were and we enjoyed them. Come to Alma Cucina for different takes on food you are familiar with.

We were looking for a restaurant within walking distance to The Ellis Hotel. Alma Cocina was perfect! Creative dishes and the atmosphere was perfect for conversation. We were seated in a corner for privacy while still enjoying the vibe of the restaurant. Service was exceptional. Drinks were creative but the margarita did not have quite the punch I was looking for. Nevertheless, great night, great food, and good company!

The food was great! The atmosphere was casual. We were just passing through town for a night, on our way to a northern destination. We tried the Gucamole and Salsa appetizer. It was wonderful and enough portion for 4 to enjoy. The waiter was glad to box up the remainder for us to take home. The waiter was very helpful with guiding us through the menu. Our Harache entrees were very tasty and served with a unique greens and beans side dish, borrowed from one of the sister restaurants owned by the same group. Sounds like an odd combo but was a perfect compliment to the tastes in my Shrimp Harache dish.

Great experience! We ordered several small plates. We had 2 ceviches, snapper and scallop. Pretty awesome! The scallops just melted in our mouths and then finished with that wonderful briny flavor. We also ordered the pork tamale and the fried avocado tacos. I especially enjoyed the tamale since tamales are probably my favorite mexican dish. The one we had was just a tad salty for me though. I had seen the menu and was prepared to spend a little more money than a typical mexican restaurant. It took a while for a waitress to get to us but they were very busy as it was a Friday night. She was great after that. All that can be forgiven in my opinion as I used to work in restaurants myself, as long as the food is great.

This was my 3rd time dining at Alma Cocina and it was fantastic. Went there with friends before seeing a play downtown and we were running late. But they were fantastic about getting us our food and out of the restaurant on time. The flavor combinations at Alma Cocina are really fun and a great take on Mexican classics. Great drink menu, including some delicious and unique non-alcoholic options. This was the first visit for my friends and they all raved about the restaurant. Great downtown dining options that is easy to get to by car, walking or MARTA.

A very nice environment to have a great real Mexican meal, not Tex-Mex. The flavorings and sauces were superb. The service was excellent. The environment was very upscale with rich wood and modern design furnishings. I will definitely go back here. And it is located right on Peachtree Street. I think this would be a great place to eat before or after a ball game (Braves, Falcons, Hawks, Georgia Tech, Georgia State). Oh yes, their regular "classic" margarita was the best I ever had.

I ordered the corn roasted guac and the fish tacos and lobster tacos. The lobster tacos were excellent but the fish tacos, not so much. The fish batter was not seasoned at all, no taste what so ever. And guac was just ok. I don't mind paying a high price for healthy modern Mexican food, but it needs to have amazing fresh flavors and alma does not make the mark. At all. Will not return I'll stick with Cantina 76 in Columbia sc , the best.

Found this restaurant by searching near our hotel and reading reviews. This was the Mexican restaurant with the best and it lived up to expectations exactly. Service was phenomenal and food was very good. Don't expect traditional Burritos and Enchiladas - the menu is more Latin....but go for it and be adventurous with your selection. Our waitress spent time describing EVERYTHING on the menu and helping us make the right choice. Definitely recommend.

First time at this restaurant. The Guacamole wasn't exactly the best I have had, but we ordered the carnita tacos & those were very yummy! Sangria was good too. Food was good...ordered salsa sampler, great flavors. The Bibb Lettuce salad was average...lettuce was fresh, dressing was watery and didn't do much to enhance the flavor of the salad. Veal Flank Steak Torta was great. tacos were very good. The beans and rice were barely warm. Service was excellent. Kaitlin explained the menu thoroughly...very professional and outgoing and enhanced the overall dining experience. Would return for the service.

Had a free night while staying at Hyatt Regency and went with Alma Cocina vs repeating other spots near Buckhead. Right choice! The chips and salsa were a great start and I would add the guac next time. The addition of plantains to the chips was a nice add. The website video steered my sister to the fried avocado tacos which were outstanding. I let our server steer me to something different and went with the Roasted Chicken Mole Oaxaca. I am not even a fan of mole yet heard theirs was good and the server offered to put it on the side. The dish was wonderful!!! We would get these two dishes again. The sangria was good but not a repeat. The rice is great so don't skip that! I will come back next time I'm in Atlanta!
