She was keen and bubbly but I was there with a friend I had not seen for months and was trying to enjoy getting caught up - a little too many interuptions from the server. The food was delicious. Wine is a bit pricey. Would have liked to have seen the patio open and in use since it is summer."

His overcompensation was palpable and ruined not only our dinner but our two guests (first time there) couldn't wait to leave.   • "Very disappointing experience after hearing 2 good reviews from friends. Appetizers were out quickly but took over an hour to get our meals. Restaurant wasn't overly busy. When the food finally came out some were luke warm. Mine was way too salty so I just didn't eat it. Only sent it back. No point in them making another meal after waiting an hour. Was offered free deserts. Whoopie. Would have rather had our bottle of wine comped. Won't be going back."

  • "Celebrating a new job for myself and the gf hitting her fundraising girl we found Alloy perfect for the upscale celebration. I typically find restaurants too dark, but with the large window and the summer sun, the lighting was pleasant late into the night (we arrived at 8). Our server was very pleasant and playful which matched our personalities. After following the suggestion of the pork belly and scallop, we were upsold to a berry and tomato salad which was equally impressive. A pleasant surprise of olives, pita and hummus accompanied us while we waited for the ordered food to arrive. I had the special of a grassfed steak with kholrabi and the gf had a perfectly tender halibut. From beginning to end we were impressed and satisfied."

  • "One of the hardest things to receive now a days is good customer service. Alloy superseded that expectation by 100 fold. Right from when we walked in the door we were greeted and taken right to our table. Our server was incredible from there on in. The food was also amazing. Started with the truffle gnocchi and it was some of the best I've had. For the main we had the Free range chicken which was packed full of flavor and not the least bit dry and the special that night which was cooked perfectly."

  • "The food was excellent, and our server was terrific, but the noise level was bordering on ridiculous. A guy at the table next to us sounded like he was auditioning for an electronic laugh track every thirty seconds or so, making it extremely difficult for us to carry on a conversation without shouting at each other. First time I've been seated in the back of the restaurant near the bar. Acoustics are clearly terrible. Next time will ask to sit in the front section, or outside."

  • "Alloy was on many of the best places to eat lists. So we decided to try it. I looked at the menu online and wasn't impressed. Nothing sounded exotic or unique. I had the romaine salad- very delicious and unique. The Gnocchi was very good as was the fallen chocolate mouse. The only thing that would have made it better was the timing of the food and drinks. the salad arrived before the wine and the dessert before the cappuccino. Minor problem I know but that is the only reason for 3 stars."

Food was very, very weird. I could only eat one bit of the dumplings. The tomato/paprika soup had sooo much smoked paprika in it I couldn't eat it; and I cook with it too - I was very disappointed."

  • "We waited an unreasonable amt of time for our main course as the waiter had forgotten to put in one order, prob 1.5 hours after the appetizer. No compensation but an apology. Food did not meet my expectations although a couple other friends thought it was tasty. Expensive for the experience. They should have docked the very late main course from the bill. Waiter was nice but not overly concerned about our very long wait for food. I expected more for the expensive prices there."

  • "I've been to alloy, three times before. So when my wife and I decided to go for a dinner date I was looking for a sure thing. I had been impressed in the past, but this time the food was a big disappointment. Expect to pay $30-$40 for the main entre, which normally does not bother me if the quality is there. But when you drop close to $180/tip and no desert you expect a spectacular meal. I could have done a better job at home. I won't be eating here again."
