AlliumFour Seasons Sunday BrunchWonderful atmosphere and ambiance. More than enough food for the four of us on the fixed price menu.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place for a Quiet DinnerVery good, innovative menu, the lamb sausage is to die for. The service was attentive and helpful. The best tea list I've seen in Chicago. Good for a romantic dinner for two or a small group with tapas style sharing.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! This was our second visit and we were just as pleased the second time. Service is outstanding -- laid back, not high pressure like you get at a lot restaurants these days. Excellent wines and yummy food. The sliders are just amazing! The cheese lavosh is a must! Lots of variety on the menu. So many things to try. Highly recommend!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food in a beautiful settingThe menu is very thoughtful and precisely executed. Service was phenomenal. I highly recommend sharing a number of the small and big plates to experience the wonderful variety- and certainly leave room for dessert. My party and I enjoyed the elegance without pretense of the restaurant, menu, and service.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat flavorsAllium has some of the best and most flavorful salads in town - the fried kale and sweet potato salad with fregola and toasted hickory, or the big bowl of urban greens with a goat cheese grilled cheese sandwich "crouton" are both great starters. I love the shared plates format and definitely order the 99% pure chocolate milkshake on a hot summer day. There's no better way to cool off. I was so impressed with the creative and totally delicious ice cream flavors too – banana curry, sesame with yuzu granite and apricot almond.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat variety of great food..Great variety of great food.. We had the cheese lavosh , chorizo bites, wild mushrooms with grits (my favorite), hotdog, hanger steak, urban greens salad, and the mussels with gnocci. Everything was delicious except the mussels but by that time we were stuffed so it didn't really matter. The service is perfect -- helpful but not intrusive. The ambiance is relaxing, comfortable, and relatively quiet. The drinks were very good and my son (20 years old) loved the butterscotch miso milkshake. I highly recommend Allium.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother wonderful mealWe had a wonderful meal at Allium. We had the carbonara which was probably the closest to what carbonara tastes like in Italy. We also had the wagu strip steak with frites and it was cooked perfectly altho next time I will probably have them leave off the wine sauce. It was good but I am not a fan of sauses. For dessert we tried several things, great potato chip cookies, 99% chocolate sorbet, the best; a bag of apple fritters which were delicious, chocolate coconut cookies which were wonderful and a couple more desserts I cannot recall. They were all fabulous but ended up taking home some desert leftovers. We had great service as always and were made to feel very welcome. One of our favorite restaurants.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReturning next month. We stayed at the hotel, and had a very pleasant, nicely paced, dinner. Allium is (almost) all about sharing, and we shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (as good as we'd hoped) and the Soft Pretzels (much better than I had expected), and I had a delicious deviled egg. For entrées, we "shared" separate orders of the Wagyu Skirt Steak. The best of the very rarely ordered skirt steaks we've ever had. As for sweets, we had a selection of rather exotic sorbets, all very good, and a selection of caramels, also very good. (We took the caramels up to our room and had them the next afternoon.) The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and we had a window table overlooking Michigan Avenue.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server wasn't amazingOur server wasn't amazing but the food runner was great and the food was delicious. I'd definitely go back.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThis continues to be one ofThis continues to be one of the best places to eat and converse with others. The service is excellent, and they allow you to eat at your own pace. The tables are far enough apart not to be aware of other diners. The menu is diverse, and everyone could find things they wanted including items to share.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GEMAllium is our "go to" place. Ambiance special, menu includes great selections (from small plates up) BEST burger in Chicago & notes a variety of gluten free choices. Never disappoints.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Allium severalWe have been to Allium several times, making sure we visit at least once every time to come to Chicago. Their Bison Tartare is fantastic, and the Wagyu offerings are succulent (as Wagyu should be!).
While the entire staff is wonderful, we highly recommend you ask for TJ if he is available. He has helped create our best dining experiences in Chicago for nearly a decade!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile I was a fan of "Seasons",While I was a fan of "Seasons", I think that Allium is a strong substitute, although it isn't nearly as "special occasion" as "Seasons" was. The food is well prepared, the wine list is good, the service is as expected in a Four Seasons and the bill is much more manageable. I have been to Allium for lunch and dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce in a while we find aOnce in a while we find a place that meets all expectations and provides all the necessary elements to create the "perfect night". Allium is not only a fabulous restaurant, it is an experience. When in Chicago, do not miss it!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu of local favoritesGreat menu of local favorites done by a top notch chef. The Chicago hot dog with homemade fixings was a winner.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Birthday Ever!I decided, with my birthday on a Sunday, brunch would be wonderful and I chose perfectly. I didn't know that there was a race happening on that day and my guest would be late, however my table was reserved and the staff was very nice about the wait (since we had to wait about 30mins longer).
The food was excellant and the atmosphere was great. I was also surprised with a Birthday dessert! It was everything I'd expected.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Success at Four SeasonsThis was our first visit since the closing of the previous Four Seasons restaurant. The menu items allowed us to pick and choose several selections to share and each was outstanding. Using local producers provided the opportunity to taste fresh and exciting item. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu, the ingredients, and how the items were prepared, as well as some great recommendations. The menu items were fairly priced. The cocktails expensive, but plentiful.
We will return again soon.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been twice, pleased bothHave been twice, pleased both times. Casual elegance at the Four Seasons. Great / comfortable place to relax over a meal and talk with friends. Varied menu of small, mid and true sized plates that encourages sharing. Had the pork chop both times - great dish. Sound, medium sized wine list. Good for entertaining / catching- up with friends and business entertaining. God views of Michigan Avenue from the window tables. Not over the top expensive. Will continue to frequent.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI highly recommend this MagnificentI highly recommend this Magnificent Mile restaurant. As we walked out of the elevator on the 7th floor, Mayor Rahm Emanuel walked past, coming from the restaurant - clicking away on his Blackberry. Off to a good start: if it's good enough for Mayor Emanuel, it just might be passable to us plebeians!
We were sat by the window where the view is pretty nice. The food was excellent and prepared exactly as we wanted. I ordered the oysters and the bison tartar, my date ordered the brick chicken. The chicken was absolutely amazing! The oysters were crisp and delicious and the bison tartar with "62 degree egg" was wonderful.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food, service andAmazing food, service and ambiance. Only caveat is that this is not a place to go if you want to stick with a restricted diet...food is quite rich but AWESOME.
Loved moving to the fireplace area in the lounge to finish up our wine. Truly differentiated service and experience.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery eclectic menu in an exquisiteVery eclectic menu in an exquisite setting. Service was attentive but casual. I highly recommend the mussels and the herb and cheese fries. Most plates are meant for sharing. If your order the hotdog (yes, that's right) make sure you're really hungry!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAllium is a great restaurantAllium is a great restaurant for people having a couple dinner or people that seeking delicious and amazing food..3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our experianceWe enjoyed our experiance dining there! The pork chop was as tender as a filet3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific. The 24 hour onionTerrific. The 24 hour onion and the mushroom toast appetizers were especially delicious. The main courses were very good as well. The Miso Butterscotch dessert 'shake' was tasty.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBEST NON KOSHER CHARHOTDOGong how ddddeeeelish went with my two fave men in my life sat in cozy chairs fabulous waiter server and sensational charbroiled hot dog...we each had our own everything is homemade including the accouterments also the brussel sprouts and the mac and cheese is to die for.... soooo worth all the calories... cannot wait to go back3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to relax and enjoyWife and I stayed at the Four Seasons. Allium reminds me a little of a Las Vegas-style restaurant in that it's grandiose and somewhat whimsical. The breakfast food (nutella pancakes, huevos rancheros, duck confit) was excellent and unique. Service was impeccable. At night, the drinks were one-of-a-kind (Purple Haze is a must try) and reasonably priced (for a high-end spot, $14/per). The bar/lounge is fun and laid back place. No thumping music and it's easy to talk. If that's what you're looking for, you wont be disappointed.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoy the food there.interesReally enjoy the food there.interesting flavors and presentations.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were staying at the FourWe were staying at the Four Seasons so we ate both dinner and brunch the next morning at the restaurant. Both dining experiences were great. For dinner, we ordered a variety of small and big appetizers and everything was delicious. My husband had the dry aged ribeye and it was amazing; seasoned well and prepared perfectly. It came with a side of blue cheese sauce, but the steak was fine all on its own. I had the waygu and it was good but I preferred my husband dish. Our server was nice but bland and seemed slightly overwhelmed and busy. Brunch was also good but I miss the old brunch buffet that was amazing. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere in the front dining area is beautiful, formal yet cozy.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Excellent Dinner. Fried Brussel Sprouts were excellent and the hot dog was incredibly juicy. My sister had the brick chicken, which she enjoyed very much. Will definitely return.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely meal with fabulousLovely meal with fabulous service. I love this place for the standing Lavosh. Food for dinner is great, but pricey in fat, calories and cost. Crab fritters are delicious but probably fried. Brussels Sprouts were fantastic, but loaded with tasty things that aren't for the diet conscious or health wise great option. A fun night.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was out of this worldThe food was out of this world and the service was very friendly and helpful! There wasn't a part of the experience I didn't enjoy. I would happily recommend this restaurant and am excited to go back someday!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was delicious!Everything was delicious! We requested a table with a view since it was a special birthday dinner & they had a beautiful table by the window waiting for us when we arrived. The night was perfect! I would recommend this for a special occasion.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely atmosphere withoutLovely atmosphere without being stuffy. Incredibly comfortable seating and amazingly happy server whose cheeriness rubbed off on us. The food is delicious and they try to throw in a twist to make ordinary into something more.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMchic yet relaxing atmosphere, chic yet relaxing atmosphere, great food and outstanding service make for a wonderful experience.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was really excellentFood was really excellent and there were many choices at all different levels and price points making this restaurant one that has wide appeal and one we'll be sure to return to! Food was portioned perfectly and tasted even better than the descriptions. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, or just a great night out with a special someone or friends!2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFour of us enjoyed a varietyFour of us enjoyed a variety of fun things from the creative menu. Server very knowledgeable and checked in on us. Would have appreciated a few more non meat items. Meat in brussel sprouts and added to a fish dish made these items unorderable, if there is such a word, for me. However, look forward to returning.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dining experience wasOur dining experience was worthwhile. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu items and gave excellent recommendations. We shared the Bison Tartare, Suckling Pig Flatbread and the 24HR Carrot & Veal Breast Stew paired with two of their signature barrel-aged Manhattans. Perfect portion sizes, ambience and decor was all very good.2/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe LOVED Allium! The diningWe LOVED Allium! The dining room is so cozy and warm! We were seated next to the fire place -- perfect for a cold Chicago night! The service was wonderful -- very attentive -- from our waitress and others. Explained the menu and made excellent recommendations. LOVED the favosh , brussell sprouts, and short rib sliders -- AMAZING!!!! Will definitely go back! Menu changes with the seasons, so I can't wait to see what spring will bring. Only complaint is the wine is a tad pricey!2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is outstanding andThe food is outstanding and in one dish that was less - management immediately made it right. Go-to place for cutting edge delicious food and elegant surroundings2/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBrooke is AmazingWe've been here several times before and it's always great. Brooke is one of our favorite servers in Chicago and she never disappoints us. The food is excellent. For an appetizer the cheese lavosh is really fun and for dessert, definitely get the miso butterscotch milkshake and the cheesecake sundae.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect mealThis was perhaps one of the best meals I have had this year. The dining room, tucked away in the Four Seasons, is comfortable and quiet. The menu was eclectic. But the real measure of a place is the food. I begin with an appetizer called mushrooms and toast, which was comprised of chanterelle mushrooms in a bacon bourbon sauce with a piece of brioche, all covered with a fried egg. The flavors were amazing and it left you wanting more. My entree was the double cut lamb chops, cooked perfectly and served with mint mustard sauce that was more savory than sweet and a perfect compliment for the grilled lamb. The meal ended with amazing little apple fritters. I highly recommend this Allium.1/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbience and a great menu!Allium was an absolutely great pick for dinner. A very nice diverse menu that would appeal to many different tastes. Service was fast, friendly and helpful. Try the cheese lavosh, it's fabulous!! I'd definitely go again.12/14/2012 12:00:00 AMBest food. Interesting menuBest food. Interesting menu great - service without being aloof. My favorite in town restaurant.11/25/2012 12:00:00 AMHotel dining is always hitHotel dining is always hit and miss and so some of the items on this menu are good (the burger) while others are just OK (the soup). But the prices are extremely expensive...Cocktails and beers are fairly pricey, you'll pay $14 for a cocktail and $6 for beer (even the local Chicago microbrews). The views near the window are great ad there is a $30 mutli-course lunch for budget minded. The restaurant is off the lobby in The Four Seasons, had I realized it was hotel dining, I might not have gone, but the burger and home made ketchup were delicious (although pricey at $19)11/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
