What an outstanding experience. The service was exemplary! Our server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff and management worked together as a team and their anticipation of needs was uncanny. The room is gorgeous and perfect for a nice, relaxing dinner. The food was delicious, presented beautifully, with flavors that emphasize the natural flavors of the menu item and not covered with 20 layers of spices and sauces. The only item that we did not especially care for was the crispy Brussels sprouts. We felt they were overcooked and left a lot of grease in the bottom of the dish - otherwise it was 5 stars for the food.

Where else can you get a great hot dog, hamburger and fries with cloth napkins and a killer wine list? Allium is always spot on in every category. Service is gracious and attentive, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is dignified but not stuffy. This is my go to restaurant for many celebrations. I am always happy when I walk out the door and look forward to returning time and time again.

Nice place, well accentuated. Our party was seated in a private room with it's own fireplace, which was nice. Our server was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. I ordered the Tomahawk steak which is huge, but very tasty. The large bone is a plus if you have a four legged child at home. The only setback was that the restaurant was not able or not willing to get us a taxi, forcing us, elderly parent included, to walk a block away to Randolph street in the bone chilling wind. NOT GOOD....

Picked Allium at random from a list of other restaurants with great reviews. Did not disappoint. The wait staff were wonderful, like basically perfect. The food was outstanding. The brussels sprouts were tasty. The cauliflower was also tasty. The veal was tasty. The john dory was tasty. The cornbread was tasty. The beer was good. Everything was awesome. We enjoyed it very much.

The brunch for $58 per person is well worth it! You start with a cocktail and the amazing warm pull apart pecan bread. Then you share approx 7 appetizers! I was full there but then each person chooses and entree. And that's not it; you finish with the dessert bar!! All very good!

Hard to believe what the 4 seasons did with the best brunch in town. They used to have a sumptuous buffet brunch with a number of ethnic food stations and choices in abundance. They have replaced it with a menu that is not to be believed. A single large sticky bun a small alcoholic beverage. And Oh, if you want juice that'll be $6! Then a share tray comes out with the most minute quantities of very pedestrian salads. There are approximately 6 small plates with literally small tablespoons of fare. Then the final course again has very pedestrian choices.. and all this for only $58 (plus 6$ for juice) and of course the desserts, small sugary, tasteless... in short a complete disaster! I will never go back again. Don't go there!

Booked a Table for lunch with friends who hadn't experienced Allium previously. They were as delighted as we always are. That deviled egg is so tasty, the roasted vegetables superbly prepared and we wish we had the recipe for the curried lentil soup. An outstanding lunch and the service and ambiance top notch.

We went here for a recent anniversary and Allium did not disappoint. For fun, try the gourmet Chicago-style hot dog with all the fixings. My husband, the vegetarian, ordered crispy Brussels Sprouts as a side dish and we were both trying to monopolize that. Our waitress was attentive and warm and even created a little fuss over our anniversary. Plus, it's a beautiful setting.

The wines and desserts were delightful as well. Try this lovely restaurant for your next special event.

Allium had very good service and the cheesy flat-bread was great. They hang it from a hook on the table and each person breaks off a piece. The food was excellent and the service was top notch as they explained all the dishes and even rated them for us when we didn't know which choice to make. The filets were awesome and just the correct temperature as ordered.

Fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared food. We had both the Wild Stripped Bass and Alaskan Halibut for main dishes, moist, wonderful preparation, & perfectly cooked. Starters of Cheese Lavoch (interesting presentation) and Cut Fries with Smoked Paprika Aioli, were both different and yummy. The Grilled Asparagus with Meyer Lemon Gremolata, was very good. There was only thing we did not like, it was Allium Green Salad.... found it bitter. We went to celebrate 2 birthdays with good friends and they were each served a piece of dark chocolate cake on chocolate decorated plates, soooo good! We'll be back.

My boyfriend's kids wants to take him to "a fancy restaurant" for his birthday. I was nervous because most of the nice restaurants we generally go to are not kid friendly. One of my friends suggested Allium as a nice, kid-friendly choice. Our server (female, red short hair) was fantastic. She was great with the kids. There was a kids menu so everyone was happy. The main menu had tons of great options as well. We really enjoyed ourselves!

We recently discovered that Allium had replaced the more formal dining room at The Four Seasons, providing creative and high quality bar food, and we like it enough to revisit often. The Cheese Lavosh was fabulous, totally worth the $5 charge. My husband enjoyed the Heirloom Tomato salad and I the Brussels Sprouts (a huge portion) for starters, and the Wild Striped Bass and the Our Burger as mains. There were lots of other things that looked really good. We didn't need to order as much as we did, but enjoyed tasting it all.

beautiful restaurant with a really nice, active, comfortable bar. would be great to meet someone here for a drink and small bite (the cheese lavosh is presented beautifully). the mixed drinks were hit-or-miss with the barrel aged manhattan being particularly disappointing while the corpse reviver scored well. the food was good, not outstanding, and for this reason it's just not worth the price for dinner. the service was good, though the dinner was very slowly paced. almost 3 hours for a party of 8.

Had brunch with the family. Of course it is VERY expensive. But the meal was awesome. First was mimosa, then some pecan muffin for all of us. It was excellent. The tower of food that you share has crab legs, shrimp, oysters, peas, strawberries, salmon--really I can't remember it all, but it was awesome. Next was main course. I had eggs benedict with home made corned beef hash, so did my sons. Wife has eggs with assorted sausages and cheese. Finally, the dessert table. It was overwhelmingly good. We were stuffed and didn't really eat the rest of the day!

Great for lunch. Try their special "Chicago Hot Dog." The sausage hot dog is house made and utterly fantastic. Comes with homemade fries and three little tubes of catsup, mustard and relish. I went to dinner on a Friday night. Had made reservations and we were seated promptly. The food was great. Our issue came up when the bill arrived as I had received a gift card from my husband via email so it was an electronic gift card. Even though I had the gift card on my smart phone, complete with the card number, the amount and the scan given by Four Seasons, it took close to 25 minutes for them to figure out how to ring us out. To add to my displeasure, although the manager said we had a balance remaining on the card, it was no longer on it when I logged into my four seasons account where gift cards are "managed" -- the manager had taken the full amount of the gift card so I basically overpaid for the meal.
