"although the service fell apart after the main course (the hot dog!) I'll still give the place four stars and another try. dessert took 30 minutes to arrive and we had not ordered custom-made souffles. the restaurant was busy but we were seated on time which was great--I hate waiting. There were really young children acting like they were in a playground when we sat down but they were just finishing up, thankfully--that's the problem with a hotel restaurant--they have to accommodate everyone and hotel guests with children (and a business write-off) like to dine in. The crowd got more interesting as the night progressed, again, I think, a result of being in a hotel--you just never know what the stories are."

"I have not eaten a hot dog since the Weiner Circle circa 1997, but you can't pass up the famous Allium hot dog, made in house, with all the fixins', also made in house (including a perfect poppyseed bun). Everything our party of four ordered and ate was well prepared, interesting, and delicious. The $65 bone in chop which we shared was perfection despite the price. Even the roasted almonds as a starter waiting for our friends were tasty, sweet glazed with a little spice. We were all impressed. An then the home-made nutter-butter cookies at dessert time? We will definitely be back!"

"we ate many dishes at Allium. all very, very good. i'd recommend talking to the server and really finding out the must haves on the menu. the smoked salmon appetizer was delicious and not what we had expected. the lavosh was a fun presentation. do not forget to order the miso butterscotch milkshake, i'm still dreaming of it. oh, and the short rib sliders were to die for! our server brad was very friendly and made great menu recommendations."

"We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my wife there, excellent food, seemingly simple, but of highest quality. Crab fritters and steak were impeccable - and adorable. Service really outstanding and nice, gave us two wines to taste for our selection."

"I ordered the crab fritters to start. They use CANNED crab so of course it tasted like mush. The waygu short rib sliders were over salted and difficult to enjoy. The only tasty item was perhaps the herb and cheese fries. The food is average and definitely not a restaurant for foodies."

"We were there for Sunday brunch. The food was excellent, the service good, and the atmosphere pleasant. Our only complaints were that the person serving coffee tended to pour it too quickly splashing it out of the cup. Also, the table should have been properly cleaned with a damp cloth rather than partly wiped up with a dry napkin."

"Lots of interesting menu choices and every one we tried was delicious. I had spinach, one of their house specials, and nothing like you would expect. The leaves were cooked whole and not overdone, in a light sauce, striped bass with lobster and a caramel dessert. WOW! A fabulous meal. The wine was excellent. Yes, it is pricey, but a similar meal in D.C. would have been much more. The service was excellent and the servers unobtrusive."
