  • "Enjoyed the fish fry. You also have a choice of saute, beer battered fried or blackened plus gluten free as well as two or three different kinds of fish. Call the day of to see what kind of fish the are serving that evening. When we went they had Cod, Lake Perch and Walleye Pike. Usually have at least two of these."

  • "We miss the seafood buffet. We gave the menu option a try in honor of our daughter's birthday. Complimentary birthday sweet/cake was appreciated. Overall value was not seen; unremarkable and disappointing meal (chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, my one daughter had salmon, the birthday girl tried the skate with shrimp, and my husband had the fish fry. Waiter service was slow (take note: bus boy was excellent and attentive and would make an excellent waiter). I don't think we'll be back any time soon, unfortunately. We might try it again for brunch sometime though and give it another try."

  • "We usually get back to the Lisle, IL area about once or twice a year. Allgauer's is always on our list of restaurants to visit. Their entrees are unique, well presented, varies, and most importantly, delicious. Our waiter, Bruce, as been at Allgauer's for years and he always provides us with outstanding service. This time, we were staying at the Hilton Hotel, in which Allgauer's is located, so it was an easy decision to eat there after a long day of driving. I had the salmon and my wife had the crab cakes and beet salad. Everything was outstanding."

  • "The crusted halibut was very good and the waiter was attentive. He even had the music turned down, when we wanted to talk. They gave a delicious complimentary dessert for our birthday celebration. We had a table next to large windows overlooking their landscaped back area, and it was lovely, despite I-88 being immediately behind it."

  • "I have been here many times through the years for brunch and dinner. Allgauer's nver disappoints. The food is excellent as is the service. The view of the water and trees is lovely when sitting by a table at the windows. Chairs are comfortable. White tablecloth. Fair pricing. Nice for romantic dinner, dinner with friends, Sunday brunch, or a group."

  • "This restaurant had good reviews. Something must have changed. They did not have the seafood and prime rib buffet that was advertised. The service was prompt but very curt. We had to pry information from the server. He did his job, but showed no sign of being friendly. The food tasted like it was prepared and microwaved, like a frozen dinner. The gravy definitely came out of a can. The cake for dessert tasted like Pepperidge Farm frozen cakes. It was not worth the price and not worth the visit. We were staying at the hotel. I would only visit this place if you are staying at the hotel and do not want to leave the building. Of the ten or so tables occupied we overheard the vast majority of them complaining."

  • "The potato crusted Halibut were excellent like always. Service (Jerry) excellent, but the shrimp cocktail was disappointing....the shrimp was not fresh and the sauce was lacking in flavor. In the past....it was always wonderful."

  • "We love Allgauer's. The food and sevice are always great. We went Tuesday night and did not know it was steak night so that was a good deal, too as it included salad and dessert. The dessert we took home as we could not eat it after the meal. Of course, no coupons could be used. We usually always have a coupon. This is one of our favorite places to eat for a special dinner and, therefore, highly recommend it."

  • "We have been here a couple of times but last Sunday we really enjoyed our late morning brunch. There was a good variety of food (and this time there wasn't as many "shrimp with everything" dishes which we enjoyed as we don't eat shrimp). The desserts are sinfully delicious. The wait staff was attentive but let us talk with our friends as long as we wanted."

  • "$40 is at the top end of what a brunch of this quality should cost, but adding an automatic 20% tip on top for groups of 6+ seems out of line since the guests are serving themselves and the staff is just filling drinks and clearing plates. "

  • "We were celebrating Mother's Day, Father's Day and end of school year and it was our celebration as we had enough family (5) to do this. It was expensive for us but worth every penny and made us have good feelings that stayed with us as a good memory and very positive. The food was unusual and unique and that was good and there was variety for the vegetarian and the young adults with us. This was my third time to come for brunch and I have not been disappointed. ever. It helps make a celebration a celebration. View out window, food quality and presentation were outstanding. "

  • "We had been to Allgauer's in 2005 and I was charges two times for my food, It took a long time to get it fixed and was never offered and coupon to return. This year my Mother requested to go back and I made the plans. All was very Good and all is well with the billing So Far. The food is great and they do a great job of making the time the set for you...I Hope to go Back. Thank You, Marykay Griffin"

  • "My family and I came for dinner buffet. I told Pablo ( prime rib server) if you have a medium rare and he told me this only what we have. And the girl came up her name is Heather she said "what ever we have here that is all you can have". The guy Pablo said " You came late to be your reservation at 8:00pm but you came in after 8:30. I told them " What! We came here for buffet and there's no FOOD! I m very disappointed! They are very RUDE! I'm glad my server ERIC was very nice he told us if the kids don't have anything to eat let me give them mashed potato. My girls love it! What Eric did! The next morning I spoke with the manager "Sasha " I told her what they did to ask are very RUDE. She is very please and apologizing for what happen. "

  • "The menu was perfect for having many quality choices at reasonable prices. The service was great and all were very polite. The food was fantastic. I had the Ahi Tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes but the steaks were tempting. I look forward to returning when in town. I have visited other holtel resturants in the area but this place had the best food period."

  • "The food was good, the selection was very good. If you miss those lavish brunches that were popular years ago, this will satisfy your craving. The price is quite high, though ($38.95), so it's good to be very hungry (or very rich). We used a restaurant.com coupon, which helped. They do constantly refill the coffee and champagne, and take away the empty plates, so I'd have to say that the service is close to perfect. "

  • "It was a wonderful brunch get together for the whole family.The food were great as well as the service.The prime rib was my son's fav.My daughter enjoyed the selection of seafood on hand.My wife and I enjoyed pretty much everything.I only have one complain about the restaurant.We were on a table with a party of 4,but the table was too small to be used for 4 people.It was more like a table for 2.But,other than that,it was a great brunch."

  • "Fabulous, delicious brunch as it is every year. The late seating seemed short-changed. Many items had empty spots or were not available because the restaurant ran out. Our waitress Kelly seemed more interested in socializing with the man (someone she knew well enough to flirt with and hug) at the table next to us than she did making sure our table was taken care of. My mom had to ask 4 times for gluten-free soysauce for her sushi and even though everyone had said they would bring it, my mom never got any. I had iced tea that was not refilled right away and when I asked I was told "They're getting it. Go sit down." Allgauer's should require hostesses to dress appropriately rather than see-through or low-cut tops and short-shorts"

  • "Instead of dining room we were put in a large banquet hall lacking any ambience. The wait staff that filled glasses and took plates were attentive the wait person that initially met us at table was fair. There was a wide selection of food. Many of the dishes in warmers were overcooked; lamb, beef. Have been in past on Friday or years past on Sunday and it was much better. Ask for dining room. Better brunches around for the money"

  • "The Sunday Brunch was a great way to take our parents to a nice meal. We were seated in a banquet room that was connected to the buffet room, so it was easy to go back and forth. However, sitting in the normal dining room might be a bit of a walk and slightly awkward, since you have to cross the entire lobby. The food selection was good - lots of salads and heavy options to complement the fruit and cheese spreads. The omelette station was a hit, as was the chocolate fountain (although the kids that stood there unsupervised made the chocolate a bit suspect - their fingers were in it in addition to their food). The service was great - constant offers to refill your glass with champagne or orange juice. Definitely left full and satisfied!"

  • "My wife and I don't go out often, but when we do we enjoy good food, good wine, and good service. Allgauer's is a place we come back to when we want to celebrate a special event. It was my wife's birthday, and we wanted to make it special. After our meal, the waiter treated my wife with a delicious chocolate torte...something we didn't expect. Allgauer's is a class act."

  • "We had 10:30 reservations, and they seated us promptly. The food was setup beautifully, and the quality was very good across the board. Only some Vegas buffet brunches have a significant edge in quality -- definitely the best buffet we've had in the area. Service was weird -- they were quick to make sure my delicious Champagne was refilled after nearly every sip, but getting a refill on coffee or a plate removed were often exercises in frustration. The actual waiter did nothing but greet us and deliver our check. For the price, which is still high but not the $50+ you can have for a grand buffet in Vegas, we walked away feeling relatively happy with the experience overall."

  • "My friend and I went to Allgauer's on a Monday evening to celebrate her birthday. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we were treated with friendliness, courtesy, and prompt service. Our dinners were absolutely delicious and served hot--not warm, like other restaurants I've been to. My friend was offered complimentary champagne and a small chocolate birthday cake, which was large enough to share. We felt very welcome and special. I'd definitely come here again--especially to celebrate a birthday!"
