Thank you, thank you. What a wonderful find. It amazed me that we had never eaten at Allegro Downtown, and yet this restaurant has been a fixture for years. From the moment we entered the front door, until we left the front door, 3 hours later, it was such a wonderful experience. Our waiter Troy was such a pleasure to have him serve us. The flavours, food, wine, and friendship are to be a lasting memory.....until the next time.

First, my apologies to Allegro Italian Kitchen DOWNTOWN. When I reserved, I thought we were going to Allegro in Parkview/Crestwood and just now realized my mistake. When we arrived and announced "I have a reservation", Rico and staff were so accepting of our party of 3 they did not doubt our claim that we had made a reservation. We were seated, and promptly waited on. And the food was so very good! My sea bass was the BEST sea bass I have ever savored. Sweet, moist with a fine crust on the top and bottom. Fresh veggies. Excellent wine, excellent service, professional staff. And we could talk and hear one another. What a treat. Thank you Crestwood Allegro and my apologies for missing downtown. Next time. :-)

It was very quiet for a Monday at Allegro. My family and I were the only diners in the restaurant, there were some people sitting outside. By no means was this a bad thing. It was a really nice experience. It was like the restraunt was rented out for the party. The food and atmosphere is always great. The service was wonderful.

We decided to try something new for our tenth anniversary and were delighted with what we found at Allegro. The food was delicious, of course. The ambience was relaxing and without ostentation. The music, too, was wonderful - a unique mix of genres that perfectly suited the restaurant and was played at the perfect volume, something I've never seen mastered before. Our server played a significant part in our overall enjoyment. He was respectful, amiable, and always watching out for our needs, but never intrusive. The last time we ate somewhere with that blend of quality in food, service and atmoosphere, we were in Europe. Lastly, Allegro was within walking distance of our hotel. I'm already including it in my plans for next year.

My wife and I have been eating at Allegro regularly, for 12 years. It's a great spot for a luncheon meeting or for an evening out with friends. The food is always excellent, and the complimentary steaming hot dinner rolls are always light and wonderfully tasty. Service has some variance from server-to-server, but is mostly good. We will certainly continue to visit Allegro regularly. As always, well done, Jack!

My wife and I are having continued success finding the best of the best on open table. Our local pasta place had closed and we had struck out in an atmept to stay in our neighborhood so we made a reservation at Allegro. They had no issue making a few minor sauce adjustments for us [since she is pregnant, certain smells are out!]. The food was fantastic and the service was second to none.

I went during the downtown dining week and chose off of the $25 menu. I was disappointed with the meal we were served as the caesar salad was made with mostly the stalk of the romaine lettuce rather than the green leafy part and the dressing did not taste as if it was made in house and tasted as if it came out of a bottle. The rest of the meal was fair but nothing that I would want to pay for when I can make as good or better at home. The great review of the restaurant that was hanging in a picture frame above our table is about 20 years old. An update to food and decor is needed for this restaurant. I don't plan to return to this restaurant.

I've been to the restaurant twice recently and both times received excellent food and service. The portions are huge, and what I boxed up made for a light dinner. The title says it all, Edmontons Hidden Gem and not just because it took a little effort to find the place. I went to Allegro to celebrate my four year anniversary and the restuarant and staff definitely made it memorable. It's a quiet, quant restuarant. it's a small intimate space so it wasn't overly crowded or loud. The lights are dimmer making it more romantic, Our waiter was amazing, he was funny, professional and could recommend anything from wine to spices on your steak. The food was amazing, the flavor, texture of every bit makes you thankful you get to take the left overs home...that is if there is anything left over. I would recommend this place to anyone, anywhere and would go back for any reason to have a romantic night out.
