A word from Alioto's
Alioto's Italian Seafood Restaurant is located in the heart of San Francisco's famed Fisherman's Wharf overlooking the historic fishing fleet and the Golden Gate Bridge. The Alioto family has been serving local seafood at the same location for the past 85 years. The recently remodeled restaurant
features a warm ambiance with a 3-tiered dining room offering every guest stunning views of San Francisco Bay. Classic menu. Don't forget to try our world-famous cioppino and Dungeness crab, always fresh.

After dinning here, I really feel
like I've been to fishermans wharf. Beautiful view, delicious food and friendly service."

I don't typically like tourist
restaurants and this one definitely is. The restaurant is very outdated and could use some sprucing up. I wasn't expecting much from the food but was pleasantly surprised. The salmon I had was great and the rice that accompanied it had a really great flavor."

Born and raised in the Bay Area,
but never really frequented Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. Now I know why. Totally over-priced. Food was bland. I ordered the sautéed prawns. I thought they were over-cooked and the rice pilaf tasted like it was out of a box. My husband had one of their house specials the cioppino. He thought it was so-so."

Our last minute OpenTable
Reservation landed our family of 4 a table by the window with a view of the marina and the Golden Gate Bridge. Spectacular!!! Our waiter recommended his favorites - which we all agreed was SPOT ON. My 13 year old finished every last bite of his Petrale Sole - which is quite amazing since this is a rarity. Our waiter was so personable and attentive - even hunted us down when we left a coat behind. Great service. Great table. Great food. I am a bit of a food and service snob, and I am so very happy to recommend this restaurant."

We were able to be seated even
though getting there early, the waiter was very professional and made educated suggestions which we followed. Luckily we were by a window at sunset with the sun setting over the Golden Gate Bridge. The seafood risotto was excellent"

Great restaurant with a large menu
of excellent seafood and Italian seafood dishes. The baked/stuffed lobster was the best seafood dish I've ever had. Sour dough bread and homemade chowder was to die for. Views of the warf at sunset was breathtaking. Definitely gotta try Aliotos if your visit San Francisco"

As a young girl, my older sister
would take me to San Francisco. We always had at least one meal at Alioto's. Therefore, as an older adult, it is nice to visit Alioto's for lunch or dinner and fondly remember the times of long ago past. Enjoyed the experience once again, great food!"

My families first night in San
Francisco. Had made a reservation on line before getting here and couldn't have been more happy with Aliotos. The servers were dressed in vests and ties, service impeccable, food amazing. Highly recommend...though not so much for young children."
Dined on 6/21/2014
Service was great. Sour Dough
Bread, the best. Seafood trio appetizer, Ciopino, Lobster Bisque very poor."
Dined on 6/21/2014
Had dinner at Alioto's just to
have the Clam Chowder and a Baked Crab. Both were outstanding. M spouse had the Salmon which was even better. Service was outstanding and view of surrounding San Francisco Bay can't be beat."
Dined on 6/19/2014
Our table ordered a variety of
food and the Sole fish special was perfect. The view of the wharf beautiful and loved how we felt engaged in San Fransico there"
Dined on 6/17/2014
I ordered the lobster Thermador
and it was at least 70% mushrooms! For $50 you expect a little more lobster. The service was outstanding, the view was beautiful but the food was lacking."
Dined on 6/16/2014
My husband and I were only going
to be in San Francisco for one evening. My mother recommended this place, which was originally recommended by my grandmother when they lived in San Francisco in the 1950s. We had a wonderful dinner, and the view was fantastic. I would love to go back."
Dined on 6/15/2014
I don't know of any restaurant
that I have been to that has been in the same place run by the same family for 89 years!!! This is old fashioned first class polite service. Linens, beautiful view and outstanding food. You are greeted by the maître' D, immediately taken to a table and watched over continuously. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you--not because they are slow, it is because this is an experience to be enjoyed."
Dined on 6/10/2014
You are paying for being on
Fishman's Warf. The food was good (not great) - but expensive. For four of us it came to $150 and that was the pasta and/or Louie salads. No wine!"
Dined on 6/7/2014
The food was awful and inedible.
The only good thing was the view of the water. I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone."

Having read about the famous old
Italian seafood restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf, we booked Alioto's for our last night in San Francisco ( visiting from New Zealand) and were not disappointed. We were given a great table in the window overlooking the fishing boat fleet, although sadly the fog meant that we couldn't see the Golden Gate Bridge, however a lone sea lion swam past while we were eating, which was cool. The service was attentive, the fish was fresh and beautifully cooked. All in all a great dinner where we weren't treated like tourists and we weren't rushed."

This is a restaurant that
stands the taste of time. Old family feel with wonderful service. The food is good and well prepared. What is amazing is that it remains a landmark in a changing world. "
Dined on 6/4/2014
Food was excellent, nice view, and
wait staff was very courtesy and helpful with menu choices, arranging vegan option for my friend. Overall great experience"

Delightful for a relaxing lunch
with friends while doing the "tourist" walk about."

My husband and I ate at Alioto's
for our last night in San Francisco. I ate the clams linguini - there were so many clams, it was delicious. He had the seafood ravioli, which was loaded with tasty seafood. Overall a very nice dinner!"

It is not teh 1st time I am
dinning in Alioto's. Not sure if the chef has changed or not but the quality and taste of food was not up to the standard experienced the previous times."
Dined on 5/31/2014
We decided to spend our 31st
anniversary dinner here without doubts, family memories and we knew our food and service would be great even before we got there we love it there"
Dined on 5/28/2014
Late evening meal, the mahi was
great, the pasta was so so. I was expecting homemade. Staff was attentive the night we visited."
Dined on 5/27/2014
My wife was very pleased with the
dinner our waiter recommendated"
Dined on 5/21/2014
Changeless yet fresh, Alioto's has
memories to be made, from the scenery to the bar menu to the wide variety of the menu. Definitely worth experiencing. "
Dined on 5/17/2014
Delicious Ciopinno. Great service.
Great view. We enjoyed our meal here."
Dined on 5/16/2014
The harbor view was spectacular
watching the sunset during our dinner. The server was attentive and helpful but not overbearing. The crab Louie salad was the best I've ever had. Can't wait for the next occasion to dine at Alioto's. This has been a family tradition since my dad started coming while he was on shore leave during WWII."
Dined on 5/14/2014
Over 60 years in business and
still wonderful! We tried the Lobster Risotto and it was spectacular. Worth returning just for this. Service was exceptional. I had flowers delivered too and they made sure we received them right on time."

I found Alioto's to be one of the
nicer restaurants during our vacation in San Francisco. While there were many restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf to choose from, all offering very fresh fare, Alioto's had great views of the bay, a broad menu, and a very nice wine list. The food was served very prompt, without being rushed, and was outstanding. Our meals varied including, fresh fish, beef, and a Dungeness Crab Louie Salad, and everything was outstanding. I thought that \both the hostess and the waiter could have been a bit more welcoming and friendly; however, they were not rude and it would not deter me from recommending this if you are in San Francisco."
Dined on 5/9/2014
I love Alioto's. I grew up in the
"City" and had all my important events celebrated at Alioto's. They are always so nice no matter who you are and the service is what we San Franciscans expect. This is my favorite place on the Warf and they even validate your parking not to mention GREAT FOOD!!!!!"
Dined on 5/8/2014
On a clear night, we had wonderful
views of the Bay. A nice find for out-of-town guests and romantic evening."
Dined on 5/2/2014
Alioto's has been in business for
87 years. As a Bay Area native I always come to Alioto's to dine. The food was fantastic- the Sole was VERY fresh, and the Lobster delicious. Our waiter was excellent- be sure to tip. With the commercialization of many of the old restaurants on the wharf (A Sabellas' is now an Applebees- go figger!) Alioto's remains a solid dining choice with the ambiance of old San Francisco. Reservations through Open Table were a breeze- did it on the Iphone, they emailed the confirmation, and then followed up with this review request. I heartily recommend Alioto's."

Lovely food and great service.
Really enjoyed our evening from the moment we arrived. All staff were fantastic and made us very welcome. Would love to go again."
Dined on 4/27/2014
I'm pretty leery about eating
anywhere on Fishermen's Wharf, but we got into town late and opted to eat close to the hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the meal at Alioto's. Sautéed Dungeness crab legs were wonderful and the portion size was generous. The rockfish was not quite as good, but it was OK. The flesh was not as firm as it should have been. The wait staff was friendly and helpful with selecting off the menu. Service was very good. Ambience a bit dated, but about what you'd expect from a place that's virtually an institution in SF. I'm sure the view would have been fantastic if we were not there in the dead of night."
Dined on 4/26/2014
A reservation for 6 was upgraded
to 8 at the last minute on a busy Friday. The restaurant was great, we were able to get a private room, great view and, as usual, wonderful food. Alioto's is a mandatory stop for us when we visit S.F. We've never been disappointed over the years. "
Dined on 4/25/2014
We had such a great time at this
restaurant! Food was amazing in every way! Sean was out waiter and really added to our overall experience. We have already told severaol more folks this must not be missed!"
Dined on 4/24/2014
Our waiter, Kevin, was superb and
showed a particular attention to detail. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge was spectacular as we managed to catch it at sunset. The wine list was extensive and the sauté section of their menu contained a great selection of fresh caught seafood tossed in traditional French-style sauces. I recommend a reservation, though. The restaurant can fil up due to its proximity to the Wharf."
Dined on 4/23/2014
The food was very good. We had a
very nice picture window table that was excellent. Our server was not very receptive. My wife had a very nice crab salad and I asked for a pasta dish. Once the server realized I was not into sea food he lost all interest in our table. We have dined at your restaurant other time when we have visited San Francisco and have always enjoyed our selves. We were in San Francisco as a port stop on a cruise and recommend your restaurant to several other passengers. I hope they received better service. We will return again hopefully with a better server."
Dined on 4/21/2014
the restaurant had great seafood
and was packed with patrons. The view was magnificent as we saw the sunset along with the golden gate bridge. A great experience"
