  • "I have dined at Alexanders several times and it has always been a good time. I was just in last Saturday with my husband and adult son and we enjoyed our latest visit very much. We all indulged in the wagyu and while quite delicious and a real treat, it can really add up so keep a pulse on that. We also enjoyed lovely wine with dinner which the knowledgeable sommelier helped us choose. Overall our experience was very good, but I will say the service could have been a bit more attentive, especially for the price. "

  • "My husband Lyle Duvauchelle and I went to Alexander's for our 33rd weddings anniversary. At our table an Anniseversary was waiting for us. Our wait staff was KayLan and Eddie, she is informative and attentive, as was Eddie. They both took the time to answer questions, see to all our needs despite the stream of guest that were slowly filing in for a wonderful meal. The starter appiziter, The Hamachi Shooter, was so crazy good. The meal was absolutely fabulous, Lyle's first Wagyu steak and Kalyan suggested for him a trio of steak, American, Australian and Japanese. The Wagyu was by far the best of the 3. My meal was the bone in Rib Eye, baked potatoe and asparagus. A large desert plater was brought announcing the event. Wonderful!!!"

  • "I've written this review several times. Alexander's is one of the finest restaurants around anywhere. From their excellent food, to the high quality service to their fantastic and creative deserts Alexander's is the rare establishments that fires perfectly on all cylinders. This meal, was two filet mignons, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. Our desert was something called "Palm Beach" and it was an unusual scrumptious creation involving liquid nitrogen. Alexander's understands a fine meal is more than food, it's a great customer experience. And boy did we have a great one. Just go. But make reservations a few days in advance."

  • "This is my 3rd or 4th time here and it feels like my girlfriend and I have a better experience every time (though we've never had a bad one!) This time we opted for the "Tastes of the Menu" that gives you a 5 course meal based on items on the à la carte menu. A nice alternative to the Omakase if you want a nicely coordinated multi course meal. Hamachi Shots and F1 strip steak were standouts."

  • "service-wise, lunch isn't as good as dinner, probably wont be a choice for lunch.thought the friendly server's new based on her service.with only a handful of individuals in the restaurant at the time,found the service lacking in attention&knowledge&dragging. stale bread; appetizers-on point specially hamachi shots with more crunch; salmon-delicate&tasty; risotto-'ll pass; surf&turf-chef lin makes entrees interesting! my friend irked me quite a bit from deliberately dressing way down&running, even made a fool of himself acting quite rugged during his supposedly bday lunch!must be why the restaurant never recognized his bday."

  • "Over the past years, this was probably our 5th dining experience. The service was actually much much better than in previous times. Kitty was wonderful!. Surprisingly, the food was not up to the standard we expected, and experienced in our previous visits. One of our "must haves" is the Caesar Salad. It is nows much smaller portion. iI's deconstructed so you have to cut the lettuce leaves and then lift the egg onto the leaves. We much preferred the bowl presentation. The bone marrow channel was boney, only marrow marrow channel across 2/3 of bone. Meat prices and portions were smaller than we remembered. Will like dine elsewhere for our next premium steakhouse experience."

  • "Great Hamachi shots as appetizers! The steaks (Filet Mignon on the bone, Porterhouse & CBS Prime Ribeye) were all good; we were expecting great. They were not uniformly tender; as a result they were not easy to eat. Side dishes (particularly the truffle oil french fries) were excellent. The service was attentive and outstanding and the deserts excellent. The ambiance was spoiled by a large party with a crying under-two year old child seated in the middle of the restaurant. The wine list is extensive; the Valpolicella wine by the glass is a very good choice."

Unlike many places we have been to, each course and dish was exceptional and the service fatastic. Efficient, unobtrusive, extremely helpful and nice. Definitely worth a return visit or more!"

They really understand how to present their creations and also how to add unexpected, creative twists into the mix to bring the dish to the next level. Amazing flavour combinations are to be expected and don't miss the Hamachi shooters. The extra touches, like the unexpected amuse bouche and palette cleansers between courses, and the cotton candy at the end of the meal are awesome. Not to be missed if you're looking for a special meal to share with someone you love or a real foodie."

  • "Sorry to have to write that the service we recived from the receptiondesk was of such a bad level that we are not taking costumers to you any more. The food and the service at the table was perfect, but it is the start of a visit that sets. Coming from Denmark with costumers, and beiging told your place is one of the best - we did not expect to have to discusse with a hostes at the start of our dinner. We were 25 min late as the trafic was heavy and we were unsure of the direction. We had called earlier that day to confirm we were coming. Still you give our table away withour calling, and atack us when we are unhappy in having to wait... Had the hostes asked us to wait 5 min in the bar with a beer, we would have been happy to do this...."

  • "The steak offered is far less delicious then my visit last time. The dry aged T bone was okay which I have better elsewhere. Our main server was very courteous and he was able to explain clearly every dish. Yet, there was this younger guy with an ear ring and light beard around the face, who gave us a weird look when serving us drinks and dessert. I guess he found it awkward that all of us are men, but we felt discriminated. Overall, it did not meet my experience last time about 3 years ago."

  • "This is my third visit to Alexander's Steakhouse. The Calamari was excellent. I liked the Amuse Bouche in between courses. The CAB Steak is better than the Filet Mignon. I knew the experience was going to be pricey but it's worth it. The Souffle is amazing! People should go for that alone."

  • "Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday over the weekend and had a wonderful time. Food was excellent, and portions LARGE. The wait staff was extremely friendly & polite, and my water glass was never empty! I mentioned in my OpenTable booking that we were celebrating a birthday, and the staff was so sweet, and brought out a tiny slice of chocolate cake with a candle for my boyfriend. I would definitely come here again."

  • "I sometimes think the chef is trying to be too cute and innovative and add too many novel ingredients to the mix. I'm not a foodie and I don't go to Alexanders for something like "Larks Tongues in Aspic" or whatever the cute dish of the day is today. I go there for Great Steak and Red Wine and they have not disappointed on that. I just wish the menu was a little more steak house traditional. The service is very good and the atmosphere is pretty goo although they really need to hire a lighting expert to get that right. It is my biggest knock on the atmosphere. I have been seated where the light was so dim I couldn't see my food and then next time I'm under a spotlight. I would still recommend the restaurant for a good steak."

  • "The food did not live up to my expectations. The service was terrific, and the staff did all they could when they saw that we were unhappy with the food, but good service cannot make up for poor food. The appetizers were tasteless. We've had better calamari from Long John Silvers. The filet mignon were bland. They were totally unseasoned. The best part of this $200 dinner was the creamed spinach. That's not a good situation. Maybe if we opted for the Kobe beef (at $150/plate), we'd have had better results, but I doubt it. The problem is that they rely on the meat to sell their story. They forgot that a proper plate requires preparation. The food was poorly seasoned--all aspects of it."

I came here for the first time with a group of 5 and I was pleasently surprised that we did not have to wait for dishes to come in one by one. The food was great.   • "The occasion was my mom's 88th birthday and they did what they do best. She got a card signed by the staff and a special dessert "personalized" by the pastry chef. Food was high quality as always and our waiter did what he was supposed to do. There when we needed him and gone when we were eating. One thing they missed was bringing some more bread after they asked if we wanted more. We had so much to eat that it wasn't a big deal anyway. Must have been at least 4-5 other birthdays at other tables near us so they know who to cater to. Mom had the Kobe which at $150 for 3 ounces seems like a lot but she loved it and hey, it's her 88th birthday. Bone in ribeye, NY strip and Porterhouse were all exquisite and prepared perfectly."

  • "Alexander Steakhouse serves serious steak AND original dishes beyond steak, making it an ideal place for "standard" couples (man a steak addict, woman a fish and veggie eater)... What this place likes most is a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Light is dim, noise level high (including screaming babies on the Sunday night of our visit). The place has little charm or character, which is hardly acceptable given its hefty price tag. It would not take much to make this a truly wonderful place. As it is, it's OK but I would not go there for a birthday party or a romantic evening."

The lighting was harsh, the temperature was cold and the typical Alexander's service over-the-top.   • "I reserved a table here or my 14yr anniversary. I wrote a note stating what the occasion was and requested a more private setting. I was pleased when we were being seated because they took my wife and I to a spot opposite everyone else who was being seated at the time. Luckily for us 5pm was early enough to have privacy, for at least an hour we had time to actually talk. Something we haven't done in a while. Our server Brandon was amazing. Thank you"

They made sure to acknowledged my fiance's b-day with a special dessert from the chef. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Alexander's.   • "Among the 3 of us we tried the dry aged T-bone, New York, and Porterhouse. Portions were very generous but don't be fooled by the portions listed on the menu because the portions on the menu includes the bone. Nonetheless, the portions were great even without the bone. The truffle fries and Hamachi shots added extra dimension to the entire dinner experience. Highly recommend this location for the serious carnivores"
