We had reservations but they were so far behind we ate at the bar. The lot is very small and very little parking is available withing easy walking outside of the lot. This might discouraged people which would be a pity because the restaurant is charming, the food was excellent with generous portions, and the service was quite good. It did get a little noisy inside the restaurant, which is very clever about maximizing its small space. There is also outside eating but it was closed off the night we went. We were a party of 16 and the experience was exceptional from the seating, our waiter - Eric was delightful and didn't miss a beat, to the wonderful cuisine. I use the word cuisine because the food was that good. Trying to please 16 people of all age groups from 3 yrs to 84 yrs old is not an easy thing to do, but Alexander's did it! From the deco/ambience to the service this restaurant screams romantic. From the moment you walk in you know you're in for an experience. We started with the roasted garlic and Brie cheese with garlic bread. If you're garlic and cheese lover this is the perfect starter. With warm bread, garlic and cheese, every bite melted in my mouth. I had the Baked Vodka Bolognese. This was absolutely amazing. There were beautifully cooked mushrooms with sausage chunks in a Roma vodka sauce and of course the rigatoni which was perfectly cooked. The feta pesto appetizer was great, as was his chicken picatta and my white room pizza. That pizza is incredible. We sat on the outside patio area for dinner and the decor and ambience was so romantic. For dinner we split the black mussels as an appetizer and the burrata and prosciutto salad. The mussels were delicious and the salad was green and refreshing. We also split the entree which was one of the night's specials- pappardelle pasta with tiger shrimp and scallops with a tomato based sauce. The meal was rounded out with a bottle of chardonnay and a slice of heaven (can't remember which one) from Extraordinary Desserts. Thank you for the surpass service tonight. I wanted this night to be a great ending to the day of celebration for my girlfriend. My server was excellent though I cannot remember her name. She was genuinely nice to us. Oh and the host was great as well he made sure the sun was not in our eyes while we ate our dinner. From start to finish was unbelievable. And I had to tip the cooks because I am one. I know the hardwork and sacrifice that goes in. So I am very appreciative anywhere I go. But tonight this establishment raised the bar. When we arrived (10 minutes late due to parking issues) the only table available was a wobbly little two top shoved between the bar and the kitchen entrance. We didn't mind, we were just hungry.
We started with the roasted red pepper bruschetta which had fresh quality greens, crispy bread, perfectly roasted peppers. Then the Lobster Ravioli and Spaghetti with Turkey Meatballs came out. I don't eat red meat or pork, so rarely do I get to enjoy spaghetti and meatballs. Both were fantastic. The sauce on the ravioli was complex and delicious. At the end of the meal, the host offered to buy us dessert for being good sports about the wobbly table. Get the chocolate cake. Well Alexander's doesn't compete, it compliments the breakfasts and lunches of the sweetest dishes and flavorful combinations of spices at Cardamon by providing that perfect blend of atmosphere and delicious food at Alexander's. My wife and I went for her birthday and she was extremely impressed. I can't say enough about the food - each course was greatly satisfying.
