  • "We dined at Aldo's on July 5th and a a spectacular meal. The caprese salad was amazing - the freshest tomatoes I've had all summer, with the right amount of basil and drizzled oil. The spaghetti carbonara is highly recommended, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Would definitely go back and have already recommended that friends and family try Aldo's next time they're in Baltimore."

  • "I was in charge of selecting the location for our anniversary dinner on a weekend trip to Baltimore, MD. From the moment we entered the restaurant I knew I had made a fantastic choice. The wine list is superb and the menu was excellent. We started our meal with an Eggplant and Mozzarella Appetizer made with the freshest ingredients. Next chubby selected a small pasta plate, again excellent and I had a salad with the freshest tomatoes I've had in a long time! Our entrees were superb! Hubby had Bronzini and I had the Surf and Turf (lump crab cake). Finally as a celebration thank you, our waiter delivered Limoncello's and the best Tiramisu I've had in quite a while. Looking for a fabulous dining experience, add Aldo's to your list!"

  • "Last night we went to Aldo's and it almost ruined our entire vacation. We were seated and poured water, we order drinks, appetizers, salad and and dinner right away. We waited and hour and received nothing but bread and a glass of wine. Finally they plopped down our salads after 1 hour/15 min so we asked the waiter where were our appetizers? His statement was" I guess I was confused" WHAT? - shouldn't we have gotten our appetizers long ago, like before the salad? He said " I don't know" - we cancelled them- he made no apologies, we heard nothing from the manager.. 2 hours in the entrees were finally served - we ate and left - It is sad when such a great restaurant can have such a disconnect - we will not be back."

  • "Ask for Slava to be your waiter. He was born in Russia, but raised here. He has just a slight accent, is very handsome, and gives impeccable service. The food was not your typical Italian fare, but there were still old favorites on the menu. I had pappardelle with Bolognese sauce, and it was very good. The restaurant itself is small, but not too small and beautiful inside (no red-checked table cloths and wine-bottle candle holders at this place). Prices were high, but not astronomical, and worth it."

  • "This use to be my favorite Little Italy restaurant and one of my favorite Baltimore restaurants, but this last visit was very disappointing. Smaller portions, higher prices, and mediocre food. A branzino special was a tiny piece of fish with no accompaniments (no risotto, no vegetable, nothing) for $33. I'm not a fan of oversized portions, but this was ridiculous. Even the waitstaff was unimpressive -- not like the experienced staff I'm used to at Aldo's. I don't know what has happened, but Aldo's is not the same."

  • "Have been for dinner twice now, a month apart. Both times we have been blown away by authenticity of food and superb service. Was a bit loud on this past Saturday night due to large group of 35, which waitstaff apologized for and said it was atypical for a Saturday. We look forward to our next visit. Have only started to make way thru menu but highly recommend the calamari, wild mushroom risotto, bolagnase, all salads, Bronzino. Highly recommend the starter portions!"

  • "My girlfriend and I visited Baltimore this past weekend, and Aldo's was recommended to me by a friend. I was told to request the 'Romeo and Juliet' table. The table was secluded at the top of a balcony which overlooked a very scenic restaurant, and was beautifully lit by a sky window above. Our server was very friendly and the service was fast, but by no means rushed. The food itself was absolutely delicious, and the two of us can both agree that Aldo's is the best restaurant we've ever had the pleasure of dining at."

  • "Hands down the most mediocre meal we have ever had at an Italian restaurant in DC or Baltimore. We went in expecting much better for all the positive comments/reviews on the website and were thoroughly disappointed. The food was warm to almost cold, desserts tasted freezer burned, coffee tasted like powdered Nescafe (cappuccino didn’t even have foam) , service was slow, valet parking price was listed incorrectly on the website….. Restaurant was also showing signs of wear and tear. The Bellinis were good (the highlight, actually), but!! they are something I can make at home so no reason to go and spend $$$$. Aldo was in the restaurant that night so we were even more confused about the poor quality overall of our meal. "

  • "Read some glowing reviews (Baltimore Mag and online). Started off with antipasta of the fried eggplant which was superb with the bottle of tasty Sicilian wine. Looked forward to the pasta next and chose the rabe and sausage next (reviewer raved). No real taste or distinction and the rabe was chopped so fine it could have been broccoli stalks. For the main course, we chose veal. I had the saltimbocca, which again suffered from lack of taste (except for an overabundance of sage!) and it was smothered with cheese, so it was mystery what lay beneath. Finished with a dolci...looked good but was not top shelf. Aldo's suffers from comparison to Alberto's in Glen Burnie (closed now)...in almost every way!"

Not sure they were overly thrilled about the kids, but the kids were extremely well behaved. Will return (without kids). Looking forward to getting to know this restaurant more."

  • "The caprese salad, shrimp app, linguine w/ clams & Osso Buco was perfect! The veal saltimbocca & pasta bolognese were bland & my creme brulee was completely runny. I would expect at an establishment of this caliber the dish wouldn't have been sent out in that state. For how expensive the meal was, I wouldn't expect near half of the dishes to be less than satisfactory. Since we appear young, our waiter didn't take us seriously. When ordering wine he only mentioned the "By the glass" page, & when we ordered a bottle seemed very surprised, then didn't bring an ice bucket until we had to ask half way through the meal. On the plus side, we were brought a complimentary shot of house made limoncello which was delicious & the ambience was perfect"

  • "We ate at Aldo's strictly from the google search we did on restaurants in Little Italy. We were in town for the Preakness. While we waited for our table we overheard 2 couples talking, one was celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary and the other had their rehearsal dinner there before their wedding, 10 years ago…I knew we were in the right place. We were seated on the 2nd level overlooking the downstairs, next to the restrooms, and doorway to the other room, I would have preferred another table, but the service was good, very polite and professional and food was good."

The only issue was the service was a bit spotty for such a high end restaurant and its quite pricey. Definitely a special occasion restaurant, one that I would highly recommend. "

  • "A wonderful experience awaited me after I made my reservation for Aldo's in Baltimore's Little Italy section. Arriving 1/2 hour before my reservation was not even mentioned as I was seated quickly and approached by my waiter almost immediately. I had the evenings special eggplant appetizer of fried stacked eggplant with tomato sauce. It was not greasy and tasted so fresh. My entree was the veal chop cooked to perfect temperature with incredible flavor. One of the better meals in this part of town!"

  • "Best Beet Salad I've ever had. Hubby loved his spaghetti dish. I made mistake of ordering crab cakes (out of calorie consciousness) which were somewhat bland and disappointing. Most surprising was the presentation of the crab cakes next to a heap of mashed potatoes over 3 asparagus spears -- both crab cakes and potatoes had been given swirled effects on top. The swirls introduced some novelty but the over all effect was not particularly appetizing."

  • "Read about Aldo's and decided to go and see for myself. My wife and I were greeted warmly quickly seated in a beautiful room and served immediately. Everything on the menu looked wonderful. Wife had Escargot to die for and I had a very nice staple in Ceasar Salad. Dinner was Lobster Pasta and Veal Saltimbucca that was fantastic. All downed by a nice wine. Would recommend highly! Will be back soon to try other selections !"

  • "My husband & I had a lovely dinner at Aldo's in Little Italy while visiting from out of town. The neighborhood is a quaint mix of residences & Italian restaurants in the middle of the city. Aldo's sets itself apart from nearby restaurants with a quiet, unobtrusive exterior. Inside, an expert staff greeted us, took our coats, & showed us to our table. The waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable, & professional. Ask to be seated in Robert's area. Our waiter gave us great suggestions - we had a wonderful meal of orecchiette with sausage & broccoli rabe, veal saltimbocca, sauteed mushrooms, a lovely bottle of wine, coffee & panna cotta for dessert. Everything was fantastic! Aldo's is not inexpensive, but is perfect for a special occasion!"
