Diner Reviews
  • "Service was lousy. Received water as soon as we were seated, then sat around for 10 minutes before the waitress bothered with us. Turns out she was the same waitress who had walked past us a couple of times without acknowledging our presence. Finally, after chatting with the next table for a couple of minutes, she came by our table to introduce herself. Two other tables that were seated after us received bread and yet still nothing for us. The bread guy walked past our table after dropping off at the two tables after us, looked at our empty table and kept walking. Never brought us any bread. Finally, when he delivered our salads, asked if we needed anything else. We told him some bread would be nice, took another 10 minutes."

  • "I have been to Alchemy's many times and the food has always been good and presented beautifully. This time, however, I found the menu to be smaller, with less choices. With that said, what we did have was fine."

  • "Ordered a kale and brussel sprout salad. The kitchen was out of brussel sprouts, but delivered the salad anyway - just kale. We told them and they said nothing and did not even offer to change the salad. We have had problems with small portions and undercooked food in the past as well."

  • "We were pleased that we were seated at the exact time of our reservation and that they were able to seat us outside as requested in our reservation. The waiter gave us plenty of time to enjoy our drinks and checked back infrequently until we were ready to order. All the meals were prepared as requested and everything came out wonderfully prepared. We will return."

  • "Best Mothers Day Brunch Buffet I have ever been to. My mom was in awe the entire time. Beautiful resort, beautiful views, and fantastic service. Will definitely go back for special occasions, as they really know how to make people feel welcome. Cannot say enough good things about the experience we had. A hidden gem for sure, with no crowds or noise. "

  • "They had them lined up at the door at lunch time. I was glad I had reservations! The staff were extremly attentive and proactive in meeting our needs. Lovely, personable staff. Lunch menu could be a little more varied and it certainly is not cheap but the view and environment make up for it. "

  • "(Under specifically recommend this restaurant....look how you spelled Brunch!) I just moved here from Chicago, took my family there for Easter Brunch. Everything was very good that we had. I wish there was more of an selection. Surprised there was no egg options...scrambled or benedict!! Not to mention no Bacon, What!!!! Thank you for hosting us nonetheless. Janet D. Restivo"

  • "Went here for my Mom's 80th birthday, which was also Easter, so a brunch day. Brunch was excellent, a good variety of choices, well spaced out, not crowded. Everything was cooked perfectly. We sat by the windows, with an incredible view of Fountain Hills. I let them know via Open Table reservation that it was my Moms birthday, everyone wished her happy birthday. Our primary server was attentive, friendly and efficient. My Mom had had surgery on her foot the week prior, so was using a walker. The staff, without being over bearing was there each time she needed a hand, from carrying her brunch plate to helping her with the entry door to the bathroom. The food and view were excellent, but the staff made this experience the best!"

  • "The restaurant & retreat was a bit further out than we had anticipated but well worth the drive. We were able to get a table with an unobstructed view of Fountain Valley & the east mountains. There was a wedding party on the terrace but because the glass between the two was so thick you couldn't hear them in the restaurant which was very nice. My husband had the Duck & I had the Scallops and both were delicious. We are Foodies & pretty picky so for us to eat every bite is a great accomplishment for a restaurant. The Creme Brûlée was not up to are liking though. We prefer more of a custard like texture rather than a soft pudding style. The price was right on the mark and what we would expect for this venue. Already planning our next visit! "

  • "The hostess kept us waiting at the front for 10 minutes before even a hello, we checked in and went to the bar in which the blond bartender was clearly slammed. Another gentleman took the order (2 glasses of pinot noir) and told her, she proceeded to yell at him to make it himself directly in front of us. Our initial walk in as first time clients was the worst possible greeting we could have had, thank goodness the view saved us from running out. As we sat down 15 minutes past our reservation time the service was absolutely impeccable and great, I would think that for the most part we were happy. "

  • "This is the third time in three weeks I have experienced chef Paul O'connor's sensational culinary artistry. I read his bio on the website because I wanted to know who this magician was who creates these tasty dishes. Today we tried the trio of tomatillo cool soup, spinach salad with crunchy roasted kernels of corn and a yummy white feta like cheese and a vinegrette dressing, and a white cheese and relish red onion half cheese sandwich. That was today's trio and it was all flavorful. The Tangent white wine was a great pairing. Sat on the patio with the unending vista. The scene is terrific but it wouldn't be as great if the food didn't match the breathtaking scene. This is worth driving out from Scottsdale to try for yourself."

  • "Two weeks ago I found this scenic spot called Alchemy in the Copperwyn Reaort in Ft. Hills. What a well kept secret. This mini vacation takes in the sweeping vista and mountain canyon. But what's even better, the food is creative, tasty and innovative without crossing this silly nouveau line that is happening on so many local restaurants. Chef Paul is doing something right by combinining wonderful flavors. I had three good sized scallops seasoned perfectly on some green colored cous cous with a dash of savory sauce with a hint of mint. Both times my friends had the delicious salmon. And let me let you about the flourless cake dessert. It was a climax of the meal! Service is friendly and attentive. Great place to enjoy a happy hour."

  • "We took another couple to dinner at Alchemy at Copperwynd on Friday night. We sat outside on the terrace and the warm April evening was perfect! The food and wine was delicious. We dined on the duck, the pork t-bone, and the Osso Bucco.. Everything was done with perfection. The salads were also delicious. We did not have dessert. The service was friendly but professional. I highly recommend this restarant for the food, wine, atmosphere and the prettiest view in the valley area!"

  • "We had been to the Champagne brunch some time ago and were disappointed that they no longer offer it. However, our evening dining made up for the loss. The view of the valley is spectacular and the food equals it. A nice adjunct was that the staff had set up a table out on the far lawn for a couple. The gentleman was expected to propose. As we were finishing our meal, they left but not before letting the diners know that she had accepted. The entire room applauded."

  • "The restaurant was about forty five minutes from our hotel but well worth the drive. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere inviting. Watching the valley lights come up just added to the wonderful food and wine. Our waiter could have been a tad more attentive but it was busy. All in all a great experience."
