Alchemy’s main dining room is available for private groups Sunday through Wednesdays between June 15 and September 15.

  • "This is the third time in three weeks I have experienced chef Paul O'connor's sensational culinary artistry. I read his bio on the website because I wanted to know who this magician was who creates these tasty dishes. Today we tried the trio of tomatillo cool soup, spinach salad with crunchy roasted kernels of corn and a yummy white feta like cheese and a vinegrette dressing, and a white cheese and relish red onion half cheese sandwich. That was today's trio and it was all flavorful. The Tangent white wine was a great pairing. Sat on the patio with the unending vista. The scene is terrific but it wouldn't be as great if the food didn't match the breathtaking scene. This is worth driving out from Scottsdale to try for yourself."

  • "Two weeks ago I found this scenic spot called Alchemy in the Copperwyn Reaort in Ft. Hills. What a well kept secret. This mini vacation takes in the sweeping vista and mountain canyon. But what's even better, the food is creative, tasty and innovative without crossing this silly nouveau line that is happening on so many local restaurants. Chef Paul is doing something right by combinining wonderful flavors. I had three good sized scallops seasoned perfectly on some green colored cous cous with a dash of savory sauce with a hint of mint. Both times my friends had the delicious salmon. And let me let you about the flourless cake dessert. It was a climax of the meal! Service is friendly and attentive. Great place to enjoy a happy hour."

  • "We took another couple to dinner at Alchemy at Copperwynd on Friday night. We sat outside on the terrace and the warm April evening was perfect! The food and wine was delicious. We dined on the duck, the pork t-bone, and the Osso Bucco.. Everything was done with perfection. The salads were also delicious. We did not have dessert. The service was friendly but professional. I highly recommend this restarant for the food, wine, atmosphere and the prettiest view in the valley area!"

  • "We had been to the Champagne brunch some time ago and were disappointed that they no longer offer it. However, our evening dining made up for the loss. The view of the valley is spectacular and the food equals it. A nice adjunct was that the staff had set up a table out on the far lawn for a couple. The gentleman was expected to propose. As we were finishing our meal, they left but not before letting the diners know that she had accepted. The entire room applauded."

  • "Alchemy in Fountain Hills. Arizona is quite outstanding in about everyway one can think of. A description would fill a full eight by eleven sheet of paper. Examples? They've open, yet comfortable, interrelated architecture indoors and out; try the trout--not one bone and deliciously super to taste; pleasingly energetic and happy atmosphere; and the service knows just when you need them and when you don't.   • "My $ 49 white wine LECHTHALER PINOT GRIGIO, was an inferior wine not worth a third of the price. Your wine list contained only 1 bottle from Italy. I prefer Italian wines ( Red & White ) you had only one that I saw on you list. Most of your wines were California, which I find inferior to European wines. And you should have a bottle or two priced in the thirties."

  • "When we arrived, we were told we would have a 15 minute wait even though we had a reservation. The excuse was that they "ran out of menus." Really? Who says that? No menus? The hostess was kind and tried her best, but deferred to her doe-eyed manager who was of no help and was actually a bit rude. When we finally sat down, the service was great and so was our food. The food totally changed the course of the evening. There were a few other grievances, some of which I know was out of their control, but I'll list them anyway: 1. The bar was way too loud. 2. There was a wedding and the reception wasn't too far from the restaurant. So all we heard was thumping bass from the PA the whole night."

Hannah, the hostess, apologized for the fact that the patio was closed due to recent rainfall. We had made reservations requesting patio seating, and while disappointed not to be able to sit outside, we were seated by the large sliding windows and were still able to take in the beautiful Fountain Hills view. My husband and I ordered Filet Mignon from waiter, Robert, and described how we like it cooked. Often restaurants have different definitions of "medium" and "rare". The steaks came out just as we ordered. Our friends had Pork Osso Buco and the fish dish of the day. We all had a wonderful evening at Alchemy."

  • "I got the filet mignon and it was very delicious. I know that Alchemy is a new take on American cusine, but I felt like there was too much on one plate with the details. The little onion rings with the steak would have been just fine. The calamari was very yummy also, but I wish it was fried rather than what they do with it already. Also, they need to have more room between the tables because it gets loud sometimes and being next to a group of people like that make it difficult to hear the person you're dining with."

  • "located within a beautiful resort on top of Fountain Hills so has amazing views. Try to get a table in time to catch the sunset. There is a large outside patio area, an inside area where the walls are pulled back then 3 or 4 tables for two in front of the open walls. Very romantic. The service was a bit casual. Not a great deal of menu or wine knowledge unless written down and called us "you guys" which is inappropriate when addressing 2 couples. The menu however is very interesting. Clams could have used a bit more seasoning and the scallops less salt but the presentation is very good. There are two wine lists, not sure why, but good selections and fairly reasonable."

  • "The resort is absolutely stunning. There are nice water features, the indoor decor is gorgeous, and the view is a million dollars! We made a reservation through Open Table, which we recommend. Most of the restaurant was full, and we were given a table outside, which we had requested in advance. The service is good, however a bit inexperienced, which was not a big deal. The Alexander chardonnay was not worth the $11/glass. It tasted like jug wine. One of the best house salads ever! Downside: My husband joked, "They better not only give me 3 scallops!"-- and then we only did get 3 scallops per order for the main entree, and served over couscous, which was over salted. So we laughed, but that bothered him. Deserts not as the menu described."

The view from the restaurant is great and the food was a special menu - limited choice starter, entree and dessert as it was Valentine's day. The food is okay - nothing special. But here's what kills me - even on a party of two, they had a 18% percent service charge. It seemed like the place was trying to take in whatever they could on a special occasion dinner."

  • "We were in town and found this place by accident. It has awesome views. Great for sunset! Our waiter Jean (from the south of France) made the dinner a fabulous experience as well. The ginger carrot soup was so awesome that I came home and changed one of my curry carrot soup recipes to ginger carrot soup! Of course the restaurant soup was much better than my own! Dining here was such a great experience we went back and took friends of ours from Scottsdale who had never heard of it. They loved it too. I had the trout the second time and it was so delicious!"

  • "Our first time at Alchemy was memorable. The less-than-friendly hostess, promptly sat us at a nice table just inside the restaurant, but close to the open doored patio. Our view the Four Peaks Mtns in the distance was spectacular. Our server was very friendly & knowledgeable. We enjoyed cocktails while relaxing & enjoying the view. We started with appetizers...the Pork Belly is amazing. For entrees, the special - boneless ribeye with gorgonzola & brie cheese topping. It was cooked perfectly & very delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed pan seared scallops. The cilantro pesto cous cous was quite tasty, altho a little too salty. Dessert was a must - apple crisp & ice cream & crème brulee with berries (all 2 of them). We definitely will return."

  • "After being mostly ignored for about the initial 20 minutes, the service was fine. Two of our partly of three were happy the meals. I, unfortunately, ordered the tuna sliders. I did not realize that the tuna would be raw, except for the outer 1/32 of an inch. I almost never leave any food on the plate, especially at the Alchemy. Being the most unpleasant meal that I've eaten there, some was returned."
