Alchemy Cafe and BistroGreat FoodI took my wife here for Mother's Day and we loved the food. The cheese plate we shared was great as were the tapas. I had the Mac & Cheese (they should rename it because it is really so much more) and it was the best I have ever had. The service was very good as well. She was very knowledgable and friendly. She had a cool relaxed way about her that made you feel like you were not being rushed yet she was very attentive, and offered great suggestions. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. It was lively, cozy, cool and sophisticated all at the same time. Last but certainly not least the food was to die for. I ordered the duck and my husband the sirloin. Both were cooked perfectly and the sides complemented the dishes exceptionally well. Although this looks like the typical local spot, the food and beverage choices are good, and the food is very good. Ginger lovers note: they make their own (non-alcoholic ginger beer for drink bases, it's excellent on its own.

The Sticky Toffee Pudding was unbelievable!!! I have always enjoyed the food, the "beverages," and the attentive service. The menu changes with the seasons and the freshest "stuff" available. The ambiance includes the lower level's "cozy" vibe with couches contrasted by the hi-tops on the main level. Service is casually attentive but never intrusive. Acoustics allow for personal conversation even when the restaurant is full. Wine choices by the glass are varied & creative. I ordered the BLTA on gluten-free bread but the server informed me that they were out of the gluten-free bread. She was, however, able to improvise and offer a substitution so that I could still able enjoy the sandwich, although somewhat modified. My wife and I thought the food was excellent.
