Alamo Square Seafood GrillTruly a neighborhood gem!My wife and I have dined at Alamo Grill twice in the last few weeks. The dishes we had were all well-prepared and delicious: soup, salad, and entries. Especially noteworthy is the fact that the vegetables are actually cooked. Most restaurants today serve them either raw or nearly raw. The service was very attentive. The restaurant offers a daily prixe fixe dinner between 5-7pm. This is an outstanding neighborhood gem which offers great dishes at good value. It has already become a favorite of ours.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great priceFree corkage Wednesday brings a lot more people in that usual. Although the tables weren't entirely full, we still had to wait for a table due to inadequate staff. We never got the bread and pesto dip that they bring to you. I'm a regular at this place because the food is great quality, perfect portion size, and although they have increased the prices (yes, I've noticed), it's still reasonable.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant dining at reasonable priceDelightful neighborhood restaurant--we wish it were in our neighborhood! We took advantage of the prix fixe (three courses for $14.50), which is an amazing bargain. Service was friendly and competent but not intrusive. Food was well prepared and tasty. The highlight was the green peppercorn sauce on our fish.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat!..butThe food was lovely and the server was great, but the music was a little too clubby for the atmosphere. We're young, but we would have enjoyed our experience more if the music were a little less for dancing and more for mood setting.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Great Spot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to going again!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNice food and a friendly ambienceNice food and a friendly ambience helps to make this a most refreshing change from the overpriced places that surround Davies Hall and the Opera House.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMen and his staff continueMen and his staff continue to make it the best dining experience ever!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious fish in a delightful cafeOur first time at Alamo Square Seafood, but definitely not our last. The food was plentiful and deliciously prepared. A good selection of fish dishes to choose from -- so much so, that it was hard to choose. The restaurant itself is quite sweet, but also sophisticated. Recorded jazz plays in the background, candle lighting completes the scene. The maitre 'd /waiter (owner maybe?) is a joy! We are eager to come back and work our way around the menu. This is a keeper!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFocus is on seafood (whichFocus is on seafood (which is fabulous), but the menu is friendly for carnivores and vegetarians. Service is attentive and friendly.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific dinners! SwordfishTerrific dinners! Swordfish and Mahi Mahi were both cooked perfectly. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the city.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat value for prix fixeThe waitstaff was very helpful and attentive. We had the prix fixe meal and think it is a great value; nice food, healthy portions and a great price. Worth going early to dine there.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA down to earth restaurantA down to earth restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. Price was not bad too4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMrelaxing time and deliciousrelaxing time and delicious French food. Great for seafood lovers!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA splendid local eatery withA splendid local eatery with friendly and efficient service; a pleasing relaxed atmosphere - not noisy; the food is both well-prepared and presented (I usually choose the poached trout which is always tasty, and well-supported with assorted vegetables); the menu is sufficiently varied to accommodate most tastes and is reasonably priced; the wine list is international enough to satisfy all but the most demanding of imbibers.
My wife and I always enjoy our visits....alone or with good friends.
