Diner Reviews
  • "What have you done to our favorite restaurant??? All the lighting you put in erases the charm and romance of the dark wood and other things that made Al's such a great place to dine. The spotlights shining directly down on the tables are strange and annoying and we would never sit at such a table. At the booth we had on the rear right side of the restaurant a light from one of the things you put on the walls shone right into my eyes and the waiters could not fix it. That is just unacceptable. We complained to several staff members and they all agreed with us that the rehab did more harm than good. If this is not fixed we will not return and spend $200 (check my last bill if you don't believe me) at a place where we are annoyed. Please fix"

  • "One of best restaurants in Dallas! Treated clients from Chicago (who are very used to getting "wined and dined") and they said it was one of best dinners they'd had in a long, long time. Thank you! Wonderful, energetic atmosphere, excellent service, amazing menu and wine/bar list.... Can't wait to go back!"

  • "This place is awesome with great food and drink. It's seems to always be busy every time I've visited but that's because of the wonderful food, drink and service."

  • "Have dined here many times for lunch but this was my first dinner experience. They surpassed our expectations with fantastic food and service."

  • "First time, won't go back. Service felt like a fast food restaurant. It was rushed and a group of servers felt like no one had control. Ordered a very expensive bottle of wine that was poured like tap water around the table. Supposedly, the restaurant was newly remodeled, but it looked like a warehouse to me. It was hot and crowded. I don't understand why this restaurant is rated so highly. The food was good but not great. Felt like I truly wasted $500."

  • "We were not impressed at all. The wait staff did not seem to have much experience. Rib Eye did not have much flavor possible cooked in a skillet. Cake was good. Will probably not go back"

  • "My wife and I came for our second anniversary after hearing wonderful things about Als. Our server Rachel A. was not friendly and gave us the impression she was trying to rush us out the door. However, our back waiter , Ruben, was awesome and very nice. The restaurant was extremely loud. We will not return. There are plenty of other places to spend our money."

  • "Al is usually at the front hostess area to greet every customer. We have been dining at Al Biernats's for over 10 years. The food (filet, sea bass, buffalo, lobster, al's salad, etc) is amazing and the service is great too. We were there on our anniversary and the entire staff made it special. Al bought us drinks and the server gave us a free dessert."

  • "I took my wife to Al's for our anniversary dinner. The staff was amazingly helpful and the food was awesome. We'll definitely be back for more!"

  • "Outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We were out to celebrate three birthdays out of the four in our party. Al himself met us at the door and escorted us to our table. We ordered two of the nightly appetizers specials, a steak tartare and oysters Rockefeller (Oysters from Maine) which were the best we've ever had! One of the entree specials was an 8 oz. filet and 6 oz. lobster tail. Two of us had that and it was prepared to perfection and served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The others ordered the Chilean Sea bass and another another 8 oz. filet. equally outstanding. For dessert we were offered 4 complimentary desserts to celebrate our birthdays. Al was even there to say goodbye to us as we departed!"

  • "My husband and I went here for our first wedding anniversary. We noted on the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and were met with congratulations and happy anniversary wishes from the minute we walked in the door. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food was just as good! We started with the jumbo prawns, then shared the tomato and mozzarella salad. For our entrees, I had the Chilean sea bass and my husband had the bone-in filet with a side of macaroni and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious! For dessert, we had the apple cobbler, which the restaurant was generous enough to comp for our anniversary! Overall, an excellent dining experience!"

  • "Making a reservation online was quick and easy. I like the valet parking and the atmosphere was nice. The clam chowder and chicken picatta were excellent. The pecan pie was ok...I'll try the coconut pie next time. Overall, it was a good experience."

  • "Tables for two are a little too close together. The couple seated next to us were in blue jeans and t-shirts. Our waiter very knowledgeable about the beef being served. Prime rib and lobster were delicious. Baked potato was average. Great service. I wouldn't sit outside. It seemed like part of the parking lot had just been roped off."

  • "First time at Al's based on friend's recommendation. Celebrating anniversary. Food, service and ambiance were all perfect. Tried the warm French brie, split a salad, Wagyu strip steak, chicken parmesan with linguini, and roasted brussel sprouts...took home plenty, including a slice of coconut cream pie. Best steak in a long, long time. And service was extraordinary. Highly recommend."

  • "See and be seen at Al's. The place is vibrant. The service is top notch. The food is excellent. It's pricey but the clientele eating here is okay with it. Have frequented many times when in town and will continue to do so."

  • "Food fantastic! Service great! Ambience great! It took a while to be seated even with a reservation. However you could have a drink in the bar area while you waited. Very vibrant place!"

  • "This was my first time going for dinner and let me tell you that it was fantastic! This is the only 5 star restaurant that I've been to that offer 1/2 size salads for half the price (and I've been to quite a few 5 star restaurants). The wedge was great and the mozzarella and tomatoes were delicious! Our filets were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was just right. If you go, you have to try the chocolate lava cake with raspberry Gelato... one of the best desserts I've had out in a long time!! Al's is a unique place with impeccable service and food. The only small, and l mean very small, negative is that it's a little loud and we were there on a Monday night. Despite the noise, I would definitely return in the future."

  • "The food and service were amazing. It's the best food I've had. And we're traveling across country. It's the highlight of our trip so far. If you get a chance, stop and eat."

  • "This was our first dining experience at this restaurant. We went there with our friends who dines there frequently and one of whom knows the owner personally. It was an amazing dinner! Food and service were both excellent. Excellent wine offerings. We are foodies who are presently building a Dallas area favorites list, and this restaurant is definitely on that list. Reservations here are a must."

  • "My friend and I visit Al's frequently and it always comes through for us. The bar is hard to get a seat at but that is not unusual on a Saturday noght anywhere. THe food and service are very good. We like the Cowboy steak with a baked potato and a tossed salad to begin. We split everything as the portions are very generous. It is a good place to visit!"
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • " The place was crowded and doing a good business. We ordered a wedge salad which was a standard wedge but thrown together in a hurry and not the best I have had. The dressing was thin and not enough to make the salad great just average. My wife had the caesar and sent it back. I tried it and did not like it either. It tasted like it had oregano in it. Not good. We ordered the halibut and the tuna thus the three stars. They were both great. I think for the money thee are much nicer places in Dallas with less hurried atmosphere and good food. We might go back during the week but not on a week night. Ask for a booth the little small duces are way too small and just not comfortable with a wood divider between you and the next table."

  • "We had friends in town and they had nothing but rave reviews! Al Biernat's does not disappoint, and we will definitely be back!"

  • "The food and wine was amazing! 9 year old Bordeaux wine, aged filets, asparagus, quinoa prepared like potatoes, crisp wedge salad. The service was impeccable, knowledgable waiter, and one of the best wine lists in the country. Know that you are going here for the best food and wine in Dallas."

  • "This is simply our favorite steakhouse in Dallas - we eat here often - and are never disappointed! If you ever try one of their wagyu filets, you will be spoiled for life. And the wine list - incredible. And the Coconut Cream Pie - no one has a better one. Treat yourself soon!"
