  • "I originally went to Al Biernats to try their Restaurant Week menu, but after seeing their main menu, called an audible and picked the Prime Rib. It was calling my name. My other dining companion also strayed from the RW menu as well and ordered the Wagyu Bone-in Ribeye that was recommended by the server. We did have someone order from the RW menu and everything was absolutely incredible. The Ahi Tuna Nachos were out of this world. The Red Snapper was moist and flavorful and the old fashioned chocolate cake was off that charts. Enjoyed everything we ate and will definitely go back."

  • "There were six in our party during restaurant week. We had a reservation and were seated promptly in a round booth. The food and the service were excellent, but . . . The table is too big for the booth and it cannot be moved. One of the men, of average size, was pressed against the table for the entire meal. A woman in that position would not only have been pressed against the table, but her breasts would be hanging over the table and maybe in her plate. But much worse than that was the noise. This is a very noisy place, as almost every review mentions. It was impossible to have a conversation that everyone at the table could hear. We won't return."

  • "We used the Restaurant Week menu- very impressed by the food and the service.Rreservation for 8 for 8:30. After 9:00 when we were seated. We bought a round of drinks at the bar. We were impressed that the captain bought us another round of when the wait time kept increasing. We were seated at a table in a corner. Luckily it was a very small table. If it hadn't been, you wouldn't have heard what anyone other than the person sitting next to you had to say. The dining room is extremely large and VERY NOISY (concrete floors). We most likely will not come back. If I'm going to pay the normal menu price for food I want to be able to talk to the people at my table and not have a constant loud background conversations."

  • "We tried Al Biernat's for the first time last year during restaurant week and it was our favorite out of seven places that we tried, so I was anxious to make a reservation again this year. We were not disappointed. The tables could be a bit bigger to provide more elbow room, but that is the only thing I can complain about. We were seated immediately, the service was impeccable, and the food was delectable. I had the ahi tuna poke (amazing!), the short ribs, and the carrot cake. My husband had the chowder, the pasta, and the coconut cream pie. We got to try everything on the restaurant week menu amongst the eight people at our table. Everything was absolutely delicious! We will be back :)"

  • " I don't know where to start about this horrible dining experience. We were seated for at least 15 minutes before someone dropped off menus, while the table that got seated after us had drinks and a server at their table right after they were seated. It took so long that my wife and I almost got up and left the restaurant. It's so loud in there it felt like we are at a dance club, not romantic at all. The food was ok at best. The service or lack of service really killed it for me. I can't recall the last time we were seated at a restaurant and almost got up and left because the service sucked. I shouldn't have left a tip and it killed me to leave a 20% tip. Not the anniversary dinner we had in mind, NEVER going back!!!!!!!"

  • "My wife and I dined here for her birthday celebration. The food was very good, wait staff nice and wine list excellent. The noise level was very loud and ambience wasn't great. It's not intimate at all. We probably won't be back as it took us over an hour to arrive and we feel our home town of McKinney has equally as good restaurants of this caliber in which to choose."

  • "We made reservations during Restaurant Week to see the newly remodeled space. It is still awkward to come in the door and get through the mob at the bar just to get to the host station and get seated. The booth was nice but the place was so loud we couldn't hear each other (there were 6 of us). Our waiter rushed us, anxious to turn the table as many times as he could that night. Our drinks were perfect, the wine wonderful and the food perfectly prepared. We hope to go back sometime when everyone won't be so rushed. The noise level was unacceptable, evidently that's not easily remedied, which is a shame since the food is so wonderful."

  • "Al Biernat's is simply as good as it gets. Been there several times and they never disappoint. Do have more a specific example this time. The table was set with wine glasses that were appropriate for red wine. We ordered a half bottle of a white. Our server Jeff immediately removed those wine glasses and replaced them with the correct glasses for the white wine. Attention to detail!. Think about it. Not that many houses do that any more. Outstanding. Food was spectacular as was Jeff and the service. North Texas Food Bank benefited from our visit during Restaurant Week. Thank you Al Biernat's for participating in that!"

  • "My work group attended Al Biernat's during DFW Restaurant Week and I have to say overall the experience was wonderful. The food was good except the Quinoa encrusted red snapper was a little weird but everything was very tasty. I had never been there before so parking was a little confusing. I had no idea that parking was behind the restaurant. The atmosphere was very cozy but the restaurant did get pretty loud before we left. I would say I might go back but only during Restaurant Week, otherwise I don't believe I'd be able to afford it."

  • "We love Al Biernats ! Hubby and I Took a few friends there that had never been there before... FOOD was awesome as usual, but the service was very slow and our waiter was good probably on a regular night but he was clearly overwhelmed with to many tables. It was restaurant week and they were slammed which is still no excuse. As we know even if the food is off the charts, the server can make or break the evening....... We still will be back, our friends not so sure, there first impression was not a good one!"

  • "It was fine. That's pretty disappointing for a nice steakhouse. the Gazpacho was the best thing I enjoyed. The lunch choices were meh. Note it was restaurant week menu - but I would hope the idea would be to sell new visitors on a repeat visit. It just felt kind of workmanlike rather than special. I'm not a jaded Highland Parkite who goes to a steakhouse 2-3 times a week. I want the house to treat it like a special occasion every visit. Also, they were either renovating the floor, or have a weird proto-construction zone concrete vibe going. Not sure which."

  • "The food was fantastic. We had a large party so we enjoyed the Sea Bass, Filet and Shrimp Scampi. All were excellent. We also ordered several family size sides (glazed carrots, mushrooms, green beans and fried asparagus). Desserts were great too. The service was a little slow and our server disappeared for long periods. That did not seem to be the case at other tables. Maybe it was the size of our group???"

It took a bit for the waiter to warm up to us, am sure Restaurant Week guests are not their favorites. Ordering a bottle of wine helped warm him up! Their famous coconut cream pie did not disappoint!"

  • "This was my second time dining at Al Biernats's and it did not dissapoint! I went with a friend for her birthday/restaurant week and the menu/service were the stand outs of the night. I personally had the beef and vegetable pot pie, ahi tuna poke, red snapper and coconut cream pie....all were very rich in flavor and not comparable to anything I've had before. The service was quick and attentive which is what you would expect at a high-end establishment like this. Overall-very good and would definitely go back!"

  • "This was not the first time we came but haven't since they remodeled (preferred the old). I thought they lost the ambiance when they did this and too noisy. Also, the booth was a pretty tight squeeze and bolted down so you could not push it out. Of course the younger crowd probably loves the noise and bar scene. The food was delicious!!. The Bone in Cowboy Rib Eye Steak was ordered by my son and son-in-law. Daughter had the filet, husband had the strip and I order the Chicken in Marsala sauce. I would have ordered the Rib Eye but 24oz was too big. Tasted it and it was delicious!! We are going back since I want to order it and bring a doggie bag home :) :)"

  • "We tried Al Biernat's in support of KRLDs Restaurant Week. They offered a good selection for their three courses. First Course...enjoyed the Southwestern Caesar Salad and Beef Wellington Bites. Second Course...the quinoa crusted red snapper with garlic cream sauce was pretty good (leave off the shrimp pico de gallo - weird topping) the blackened pork chop with orange glaze was better and something I would order again. Third Course...chocolate cake good, the gelato ice cream sandwiches better."

  • "A return visit that was too long in coming. We arrived 15 minutes early for our 8:30 reservation however we were promptly seated. The room was crowed and noisy as usual however the antique screens allowed us some privacy and the ability to talk in normal tones. The service was excellent and our food prepared to our specifications - petite filet and filet 'Oscar' (the Béarnaise could have used a little more flavor). We mentioned that we were returning for our anniversary and our waiter offer us a free dessert - which we took home as we were both happily full."

  • "Once again Al's staff provided the most excellent food and service. We were met almost at the door by the nicest, most considerate and courteous young man imaginable. The evening proceeded with every member of the staff making us feel like honored guests and almost members of the family. Kudos to Mr Biernat for creating a culture within his establishment that affords his patrons such a pleasurable dining experience. Accompanying my wife and I was a couple who have lived in Dallas virtually all their lives who had never been to Al's -- thought it would be too pretentious. Our server who had grown up in San Miguel, Mexico and all other members of the staff quickly dispelled that concern. And the food excellent as always. Thank you Mr Biernat"

The staff was wonderful, our server and the manager were very friendly and attentive, our questions were answered, our drinks never empty, the food was fast and fresh and just superb. We thoroughly enjoyed every second spent there. My sister and I have found our new favorite restaurant and dish, the Ahi tuna poke was the best!"

  • "Service was helpfull and friendly. They all hep eachother. Food options are endless. This is a place you can order anything you want. I ordered off the menu and was very pleased with my meal. I tried some Gelato. The flavors were full and creamy. The only thing I did not care for was the smell in the bar area. It smelled like 'a bar'. I am sure it just needs to be cleaned deeply. Thank you again for a great food and dining experience!"
