  • "From the minute you walk in the door every customer is treated so well from beginning to end. I made an Open Table reservation last minute that they made happen, even the fine details of requesting a window booth. The General Manager runs the ship so well and is personal with his attention to detail. The service was top notch and the food fare was absolutely excellent, and most of all consistent. Tthe tenderloin is superb and recommend the crab Benedict if a going for brunch. Looking forward to many more visits and a truly great steakhouse, plus more in the Big D. Yum!"

  • "The people watching here is as good as the food and service. Upon check in, we waited approximately 15 minutes for our table-not a big deal. However, there was no room or place to stand and wait unless we hovered over bar dinners or put our back sides in the faces of table guests. Great food, best salmon I've had in Dallas."

  • "I ordered the prime rib an found it to be a extremely tough cut of beef. I was having trouble cutting it with their steak knife. This is not the norm for this restaurant. I have found their prime rib to be one of the best in Dallas. My wife ordered the scallops and prawns. The scallops were perfect but the prawns were over cooked and tough. I will give them another try but on a Sunday night when they aren't so busy."

  • "Little difficult to find the entrance (valet parking) but once you're in...WOW! Great bar scene for a Thursday night. Our server Michael was on top of his game. Great food and drinks! The beer battered prawns were a delight and the Ribeye from McKinney was cooked to perfection. It was nice being in a crowded restaurant and still feeling as if our table was the only table in the house. Will certainly be heading back again...soon!"

  • "Went for a birthday celebration, not the first time for that event at Al's. Always have a great time there. A large crowd for a Thursday night even though we went a little early. Folks always seem to enjoy themselves there. Some interesting changes with the recent renovation activity. We will be back again soon!"

  • "While I work in town, we have now moved out to the country. So when I have the chance to "stay in town" for dinner/ happy hour- I always choose Al's. Not only is the food consistently GREAT, the service is outstanding and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Most of the regulars don't dine here thinking they will run into someone famous or a visiting celebrity. But you never know who might be sitting next to you! Al keeps it fresh with great steaks, seafood and changing specials. The Al's Salad is one of my favorites and to balance out the salad- I always get their huge onion rings. The staff here treats everyone as a movie star and that is what keeps me coming back. It is the first palace I tell friends to visit when in town."

  • "What have you done to our favorite restaurant??? All the lighting you put in erases the charm and romance of the dark wood and other things that made Al's such a great place to dine. The spotlights shining directly down on the tables are strange and annoying and we would never sit at such a table. At the booth we had on the rear right side of the restaurant a light from one of the things you put on the walls shone right into my eyes and the waiters could not fix it. That is just unacceptable. We complained to several staff members and they all agreed with us that the rehab did more harm than good. If this is not fixed we will not return and spend $200 (check my last bill if you don't believe me) at a place where we are annoyed. Please fix"

Ordered a very expensive bottle of wine that was poured like tap water around the table. Supposedly, the restaurant was newly remodeled, but it looked like a warehouse to me. It was hot and crowded. I don't understand why this restaurant is rated so highly. The food was good but not great. Felt like I truly wasted $500."

  • "My wife and I came for our second anniversary after hearing wonderful things about Als. Our server Rachel A. was not friendly and gave us the impression she was trying to rush us out the door. However, our back waiter , Ruben, was awesome and very nice. The restaurant was extremely loud. We will not return. There are plenty of other places to spend our money."

The food (filet, sea bass, buffalo, lobster, al's salad, etc) is amazing and the service is great too. We were there on our anniversary and the entire staff made it special. Al bought us drinks and the server gave us a free dessert."

We noted on the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and were met with congratulations and happy anniversary wishes from the minute we walked in the door. The service was absolutely fantastic and the food was just as good! We started with the jumbo prawns, then shared the tomato and mozzarella salad. For our entrees, I had the Chilean sea bass and my husband had the bone-in filet with a side of macaroni and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious! For dessert, we had the apple cobbler, which the restaurant was generous enough to comp for our anniversary! Overall, an excellent dining experience!"

  • "Outstanding dining experience from start to finish. We were out to celebrate three birthdays out of the four in our party. Al himself met us at the door and escorted us to our table. We ordered two of the nightly appetizers specials, a steak tartare and oysters Rockefeller (Oysters from Maine) which were the best we've ever had! One of the entree specials was an 8 oz. filet and 6 oz. lobster tail. Two of us had that and it was prepared to perfection and served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The others ordered the Chilean Sea bass and another another 8 oz. filet. equally outstanding. For dessert we were offered 4 complimentary desserts to celebrate our birthdays. Al was even there to say goodbye to us as we departed!"

Prime rib and lobster were delicious. Baked potato was average. Great service. I wouldn't sit outside. It seemed like part of the parking lot had just been roped off."

Tried the warm French brie, split a salad, Wagyu strip steak, chicken parmesan with linguini, and roasted brussel sprouts...took home plenty, including a slice of coconut cream pie. Best steak in a long, long time. And service was extraordinary. Highly recommend."

  • "This was my first time going for dinner and let me tell you that it was fantastic! This is the only 5 star restaurant that I've been to that offer 1/2 size salads for half the price (and I've been to quite a few 5 star restaurants). The wedge was great and the mozzarella and tomatoes were delicious! Our filets were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was just right. If you go, you have to try the chocolate lava cake with raspberry Gelato... one of the best desserts I've had out in a long time!! Al's is a unique place with impeccable service and food. The only small, and l mean very small, negative is that it's a little loud and we were there on a Monday night. Despite the noise, I would definitely return in the future."
