AKASHAGreat farm to table experience...evGreat farm to table experience...everything is super fresh and organic, and I LOVE that they buy locally! Really enjoyed it :)5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNever disappointedWE have been to Akasha many times. It never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh, locally sourced and beautiful! They know how to cook a piece of fish to perfection!!! The combinations are perfect, serving size is also perfect. Servers are friendly and well trained, equipped with excellent recommendations from the menu if you ask them and also they are not afraid to go and ask if they cannot answer a question about a dish. There are gluten free, dairy free options, vegetarian choices. Love it! We will definitely return yet again!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFamily reunionThank you for making our Texas/ California
family reunion a delicious, joyful event.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AManother great mealBrought Some friends in for their first time and they loved it. We all had different things and did some sharing. It was Wed so bottles of wine were half price what could be better.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLocally GrownAkasha has always been one of my favorite restaurants with its locally grown organic food combined in interesting ways. Small bites at the bar or the table are great. Whole meals are pleasingly proportioned and good.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and wineI brought 2 friends who live in LA and had not heard of Akasha before. After this visit, im sure they will be back. The food and the wine list are superb ( especially the half-price wines on Wednesdays). You can tell the ingredients are fresh and local, and the favors are wonderful. We even had a flour less chocolate desert which was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant, but only if money is no object.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful fineAkasha is great anytime. There is food for all types. Vegetarian to meet eaters. Great portions and wonderful service. I will be making this place one of my go to dinner places.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid all aroundWell prepared quality ingredients with some twists on standards. Portions are a little small. Service is always great. Nice date spot (not over the top romantic, but you know you're on a date).
I like it.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Find in Culver CityStumbled upon this restaurant and area. Culver City has really grown up. Vibrant city scene with an inviting neighborhood feel. Courteous and attentive staff. Good food. Who knew? Culver City. Now on my radar and definitely a place to frequent.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing... appetizingI could not find appropriate words to describe the dishes we enjoyed other than, "amazing". From the carrot salad that was so fresh I could have sworn they had a vegetable and herb garden in the kitchen where they were pulling the ingredients as ordered. The artichoke frites were delicious - crunchy and flavorful with a nice dipping sauce thick enough to stick to the leaves, and yet not fall onto our shirts as we shoveled these delicacies into our mouths. The fig and prosciutto flatbread pizza was a perfect balance of sweet, salty ingredients on a nice thin crust. My friend enjoyed the perfectly cooked skirt steak on grilled asparagus with a side of curried cauliflower that stole the plate so to speak. Go! Enjoy yourselves!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty Vegetarian/Vegan choicesTasty Vegetarian/Vegan choices ... great energy and cheerful hostess!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAkasha consistently providesAkasha consistently provides fresh and interesting dishes. In honor of earth day they made some special dishes among them a tofu ann eggplant curry which had bright flavors. The fried green tomato salad provided a good juxtaposition between the tomatoes and the citrusy flavored salad greens. I keep coming back to Akasha, it's the one Culver City restaurant that I can count on when I want to show off the Culver City restaurant scene to visitors.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took our daughter for herWe took our daughter for her birthday. The server was fantastic--friendly and helpful. The food and wine were excellent. The Tuscan kale Caesar salad is a real treat. The Bourbon ice cream sundae was delicious and the server put a candle in it! They could not have done anything better.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone in our party LOVEDEveryone in our party LOVED their food; will come back again.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh, flavorful and interesting. This is my third visit to Akasha. I love the menu that pairs interesting and tasty combinations of food, which is very fresh and flavorful. The ambiance is lovely, and being there on a Tuesday night, it was not crowded or noisy. With one drink, appetizer, main course and desert, the price was approximately $50 per person. I would highly recommend this restaurant.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second time hereThis was my second time here and it is definitely becoming one of my favorite restaurants! The food is super fresh and cooked to perfection!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe attend productions at theWe attend productions at the Kirk Douglas a couple times a year. Akasha is our first choice for dining.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food and service.Wonderful food and service. I wish that the noise level were generally lower. The too loud music tends to make people shout to be heard. I'd rather not shout.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest on the WestsideThe best bar with the best tenders in the Westside. Lisa and Debbie are fabulous. Great jazz on Monday night. And the food is ALWAYS the best!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey and not that comfortableNot the most comfortable place to dine. We sat at a table that has a banquet on one side and a chair on the other. The chairs are cool looking, but they slant downward and there's a large opening in the back between the seat and the strip of leather that serves as the back rest. I couldn't sit back in my seat because I would slide back through the opening.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI went there for the firstI went there for the first time for Easter brunch and it was fabulous! Can't wait for my next meal there. I loved everything about the restaurant and menu and our servers were absolutely lovely.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMit's really 4-plus. my "bigit's really 4-plus. my "big plate" (quinoa) was less good than other people's--the scallops were my favorite, the seafood risotto, 2nd favorite. we come here often and will keep doing so. service was not quite as attentive as sometimes but still fine. On the noise rating--we were there 6 pm pre-theater when it's quiet.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved It!Came here for a date night with my husband and thoroughly enjoyed it. The server was wonderful--she made great recommendations and pushed our order through in a very timely manner so that we could be on time to see a play at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Delicious, flavorful, and healthy selection.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been before over theHave been before over the years - always good. Service was terrific - there were 6 of us, including 2 kids. The wait staff was very accomodating and attentive. Food - as always - very good. Busy Friday evening, but never felt "rushed". Everyone had a good time. Always noisy, but indicative of friendly social atmosphere.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and delightfulThe hostess was helpful and welcoming and our server, Dustin, was incredible: attentive and informative without being intrusive. The roasted garlic hummus with carmelized onion flatbread and Stuhlmuller Estate Chardonnay made a great combination. The hummus was creamy and perfectly spiced and I could have made a meal out of the flatbread alone. I had the Australian sea bass and was skeptical about the bed of spigarello broccoli and caulifower on which it was served, but it was fresh and delicious. I usually need to add salt to dishes, but this was perfect untouched. My husband raved about his flat iron steak. A little hard to get a drink at the bar but the Akasha is worth the wait: summer in a glass!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNot to be missed!I cannot say enough great things about our neighborhood favorite, Akasha. The menu is stable, with ever-changing local favorites. I took a friend whom I had had drinks with during happy hour, for the full blown dining experience. It did not disappoint. The seabass was amazing, as well as the freshness of the grilled asparagus, broccolini and cauliflower. I almost forced her-really twisted her arm to try the salty peanut bar. She about died. Our service was impeccable and both of us felt so well taken care of, we didn't bat an eyelash at over tipping. In my opinion, Akasha is THE BEST restaurant in Culver City.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are sorry we took so longWe are sorry we took so long to try Akasha. The menu was so great that we had a hard time deciding what to order. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. We go out a lot and we both agreed it had been a long time since we were impressed with a restaurant's food. The only let down was dessert -- thought their chocolate cake "sundae" was just ok -- but the rest of the meal was so strong that we will return.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMChicken WingsGreat as usual...very good for lunch. Brisk service and really good food! Wished the chicken wings were on the lunch menu! Why not???
Everything was great!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place, but wishLove this place, but wish the service was better. Had to seek out our waiter and the girl he was training (on a Saturday night) anytime we needed something.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's not you. It's me.If one continues to patronize a restaurant that has average food and never changes a thing, it stops being about the restaurant and more about yourself. For easily four years, I enter this absolute beautiful space with the thoughts that the food will match the decor. It doesn't. Sure the kale Caesar is better than most, but more often than not, the food just leaves me yearning for something more palatable. The happy hour is great and the bar staff is more than willing to give you a taste of anything, but the place isn't just a bar. It's a restaurant - an average restaurant...that I'll probably go to again...and then hate myself a little more.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal at Akasha. We had a great meal at Akasha. Sometimes there's nothing like a turkey burger! It really hit the spot! My cousin had the burger and she loved hers also. The restaurant is attractive, the Hibiscus margarita was a little too tart for my taste, but overall we had a great evening.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGood selection of vegetarianGood selection of vegetarian dishes and small plates12/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
