"Friday night is a sushi buffet attracting families w/kids; if that's what you like then great but not a place for a relaxed atmosphere. Appetizer soups were boring. My wife's entree arrived and I got to watch her eat the entire dish waiting for my entree. I asked the waiter to check on my entree and when it finally arrived it was a burnt fish but, I ordered pork. By this time, I was so hungry we left for another restaurant. The waiter was apologetic and handled the situation professionally. I was willing to forget about the experience, chaulk it up to bad luck and move-on. But, management cancelled my resv a day AFTER we dined attempting to block a negative review which only urged me to have OT reinstate my resv to provide the truth."

"My husband and I found Aji on new year's eve and went back for 3 weeks! We love this place. Everyone there is awesome. We have been back with family. It is the best Japanese restaurant in the twin cities. We will be back often."

"As sushi lovers, we decided to try Aji prior to a movie at the Hopkins theater nearby. At 7PM, we got in right away. There is an elegance about the dining room that we both liked. We eyed the long buffet table where scores of sushi roll varieties were plainly displayed and quite appetizing with shrimp spring rolls and salads included. The online buffet menu price was $17.95 but changed to $19.95 months earlier. The spring rolls were quite gelatinous, unappetizing and fell apart easily. The sushi rice was mostly undercooked with many vegetarian rolls and only a few raw sushi. A few rolls were good but mostly boring. The service was friendly but too eager to remove plates. We will not likely return as there are much better sushi places around"

"Not a good choice for anyone who actually knows good sushi. This was horrible! I moved here from LA where sushi is always awesome and have found one place (in the western burbs/downtown Mpls) where the sushi meets or exceeds what I had in LA - Yumi's in Excelsior. Aji was gross - rolls were like they opened a can of tuna and stuffed it in some rice; sushi was thin and dry. Not flavorful at all. Service was beyond bad. Avoid this place if you want good sushi."

"Sushi tasted like it was purchased in a grocery store - all rolls tasted the same. Fish did not taste fresh.Buffet was half empty each time I returned. Service was awful! Server did not bring correct order to the table, then forgot to bring the correct dish back."
