Ajanta RestaurantBest Indian in the BayThe flavors are incredibly fresh and authentic. The presentation was like nothing I've experienced at an Indian restaurant and they had a variety of dishes that I've never seen at an Indian restaurant, i.e., Tandoori portabella mushrooms... YUM! If may seem a little pricey at first but compared to most places where you have to order the rice and naan separately, this place extremely reasonable. Your meal comes with rice, naan, and either saag or chickpeas so you never have to decide between delicious meat and veggies. As an added extra, the food is cooked to your level of spiciness.

For one price we received 3 starters, 4 main courses, relishes, naan, rice and a choice of two desserts from a long list of sweet choices. The serving sizes were smaller than regular entree sizes, but was still more than enough for the two of us. Each dish was filled with fragrant and complimentary Indian spices. We chose moderately spicy seasoning from an offered range of mild to extreme. The wait staff worked as an interchangeable team making sure our food was presented and cleared in a timely fashion. The prix fixe menu is a bargain. Service is excellent. We shared several family-style dishes and finished with delicious kheer. The staff were always ready to fill our glasses and entertain our requests for more food.
