My last visit was for Mother's Day brunch and was excellent as always. My mom had the quiche too however my daughter had the Eggs breakfast. The potatoes were her favorite part and the jam was delicious. If you want good French food, go to Aixois. You are looking for a local, hometown restaurant, go to Aixois. The service was superb, the food delicious -- but the noise level in the restaurant made it nearly impossible for us to hear each other. The table next to us was full of loud people and we were having to yell at each other to be heard about the din. I would recommend the restaurant as 5 star except for the awful noise level. mussells are fabulous. we always get the ones in roquefort sauce but decided to mix it up and try one of the new offerings.

Inital service was very slow, but we were not alone in that department. We didn't get water until after we placed our order. Once our order was placed, service was good. The Aixois salad was a bit awkward to eat with large lettuce leaves. Know a guy who uses it as his "go to" restaurant for special occasions and dates. Read the reviews here on Open Table and on Yelp. Some weren't so good, most were. I was undeterred. I offered my date a choice of Aixois, Grand Street Cafe and Cafe Europa. She chose Aixois. I had already made a reservation at Aixois before she got back to me with her choice.
We LOVED it. We were in a hurry as sitter showed up late, we had to drive almost an hour and had tickets to a play at KC Rep at 8. We only got to share three appetizers, Escargo, Aixois Salad and the Fromage board. We also had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon each.
