The menu was a little different than "other restaurants". Mostly local grown and bought products. Their drink menu was just as different, did not recognize any of the drink names. Had Kobe burgers, the best we ever had. Fries were excellent. They supplied a birthday cake as it was my birthday. The did a fine job.

Four of us were seated immediately for our 6pm reservation on Sunday evening in this comfortable, beautifully lit dining room. We were greeted quickly by our knowledgable and friendly server who told us that there were only 3 orders left of the prime rib special (an excellent value at $25 including a glass of red or white wine, a simple, but lovely salad and fresh, local sides). One of our party requested and received an end cut (and more) of the excellent prime rib. Our party enjoyed the 4 Current Jars of "schemers" with garlic toast, Bibambop, and Diver Scallops. We one party member was celebrating a birthday and was treated to a complementary dish of house gelato or sorbet. The Cinnamon Chocolate Gelato was outstanding! Beautiful presentation of interesting and flavorful dishes, all laced with fresh, local ingredients. Highly recommend!

We have been to agustin a number of times and often brought people who hadn't yet eaten there. It is always a wonderful experience - food, atmosphere, service are all great. We choose it for special occasions because of the excellently prepared and creative menu. Our friends have always returned and we are never disappointed.

Been here twice for lunch and once for dinner and all the visits were great. Had the cioppino for dinner and it was delicious. Chicken chopped salad for lunch both times and it has to be my favorite place for a great salad. Service was top notch and the location in a courtyard was very cool.

This restaurant is spectacular. It was our 1st visit and we were celebrating my husband's birthday. I'm somewhat of a foodie and often am unimpressed when we dine out. Not here. The food was exquisite. Everything, for the most part, is locally sourced and seasonal. The palate and layers of flavor in every dish are amazing. The service was excellent too. The restaurant is vibrant. The only issue that might arise is, if the tables are full, it can be noisy and difficult to hear your companions. I wish they could install some sound absorbing features. Other than that, it is perfect in every way. we'll definitely be back.

Don't call for directions. The desk couldn't have been less helpful, but that's why god made Siri. Once at a table the waiter was knowledgable and fun. The food was very nice. Pork in abundance and we had it Korean (generous portion, interesting flavor combination), in pasole (spicy and homey), and corned pig (With a spoon-worthy broth and tempura like onion rings). The chicken and dumplings, while the perfect comfort food with just a tiny kick is more like a soup. The room is a wide-open space without being the noisy warehouse of so many other restaurants of the ilk. We were not up for it this night but the jars is usually a great way to start.

We've been twice, both times with friends. The food was delicious and fit for foodies. The menu is heavy on meat but I could find vegetarian offerings for myself. The ambience is fantastic with lots of open space in the main dining room and an overall great vibe. Our second visit was on the night of the All Souls Procession. Even though the Mercado outside was busy, crowded and loud with music, inside the kitchen and staff were totally on target. So glad to have a west side first class restaurant!

We've been to Augustin Kitchen several times now, and I am asking myself why we go back. The restaurant is extremely noisy and it's hard to hear the conversation at the table. It's always been understaffed -- we went on a recent weekend evening and there were only 2 waiters for the whole place. The menu is very thin and includes a lot of rich, fatty, greasy food. And dinner for 2 without alcohol was $80. We could have gone someplace else that was fun twice for that cost.

The food was fine. Only fine. The waiter was pretentious and was clearly preoccupied with other larger tables. We arrived at 5:30 with a reservation and were out less than an hour later having been hustled through dinner. I was disappointed. Too many other wonderful places to explore so we won't be back.

Eight of us dined at Augustin Kitchen before heading downtown for a concert. The waiter assured us he would get us out on time and he did. We all loved our salads and entrees, from the Prime Rib, to the Salmon, to the Calamari. The atmosphere was fun and the food excellant. What more can one ask for on a Sunday night.

Having been acquainted with award-winning Chef Ryan Clark from Lodge on the Desert, I took pains to find his new restaurant this spring. It's vibrant with an open kitchen, a pleasant lively bar, and has a nice ambience & superior food. I had the generous & tasty mussels as an appetizer, the wonderful spinach salad and the delicious scallops as my main entrée. I also took home a "doggy" bag. It was a lot but I'd not eaten all day so came hungry. Located in a corner at San Agustin Mercado there are a few tables out front facing the grassy plaza. There seem to be quite a few activities that take place there. They also have wonderful monthly and reasonable chef's dinners.

An eclectic menu and a funky, warehouse vibe make this an interesting downtown stop. High ceilings give it a B-52 hanger feel, but the chef is creative and experiments with things out of the box in his salad creations and new spins on old favorites. Some are stellar, some not so much, but your palate will help you decide which way to go. It is at the end of the trolley car line which makes it an added experience journey. parking is also ample. The wait staff is young and energetic. What they lack in polish they compensate for with enthusiasm. Give it a shot.

There were six of us and we all had delicious meals. Our server "missed" hearing one of us order shrimp with the pasta dish and she gave us a bit of attitude over it saying she "didn't order shrimp" when everyone else heard it. The white wine could have been much colder. Nothing on a warm evening like a very cold glass of white wine.

This was our second time at Augustin Kitchen; liked it even better. Since we went early (5:15 for dinner) had neat table and attentive waitress. Although we like everything about Augustin (food, service, interesting atmosphere) the real draw for us is the location -- the Mercado. Charming shops built around a courtyard, tables where one can have a meal or just a snack, makes for a delightful visit. Probably the kind of spot Tucson was in the early days !

First time visit, negative start. Extremely loud band & crowd blocking entrance. Had Open Table reservations & table wasn't ready but there were lots of empties that could've been added onto very simply to accommodate us. We had to wait 20+ minutes for our assigned table to be vacated & set up. If the place had been packed it would have been understandable but there were several empty tables that with a little addition would have worked fine for us. Our server Monica get high marks for working with us and being on top of everything. She is a gem. Our food was for the most part very good for 4 of us. Presentation great. The scallops sans bacon dish was so sugary it was inedible. Dish was ordered w/o bacon due to pork allergy. Chef great.

We both ordered the Pho Soup which was full of flavor and warmth. There were 5 large succulent shrimp surrounded by rice noodles and crunchy bean sprouts. I was able to have the jalapenos on the side which made it possible to manage my level of heat. It was a hearty bowl of soup that was served in an oversized bowl - too much for just one person!

We had been following the Kitchen in various reviews for awhile and were happy we stumbled in the week before while we were riding the Tucson Street Car for the first time. We immediately made a reservation for the following week, since we planned to be attending a show at the Music Hall Downtown. My wife had the Cioppino and I had the Diver Clams. This was our second visit for brunch. The service was impeccable & our guests really enjoyed the special, Biscuits and Gravy. We chose to eat outdoors and prefer it because the indoor area has very poor acoustics. Of course dining al fresco would not be an option during our hot summers. We have a friend who was there for dinner. He has a hearing loss and he couldn't participate in conversations. In my opinion, this is the only negative about Agustin Kitchen and it could have an adverse effect on business between May and September. Visitors might also want to tour the housing complex immediately to the south which is reminiscent of old world Europe or Mexico. A ride on the new Sunlink Streetcar is also recommended

Had dinner here on a Wednesday night...the noise level is terrible...server had to repeat herself several times. The food was fair at best and for the price not impressive. Server brought bread but no bread plates and the wedge salad was served with blue cheese crumbles but the no dressing (server apologized once she finally came back...said the kitchen should have caught it...really?!?) The enchilada was served on top of tortilla chips and for the most part was rather tasteless. The burger was good....large and well dressed. Wish we could say this was great as it is close to our son's house but I'm afraid we won't return.
