Since it is in our neighborhood we
eat here occasionally and it is always excellent! The food is fresh, perfectly seasoned, prepared and presented."

For the price and quality of food
Agrodolce is an excellent choice. it is also a pleasant atmosphere, very relaxed, light and airy. I appreciated that many dishes can be ordered gluten-free. For a place to enjoy a leisurely lunch, this is it!"

AND bottomless mimosas :) I loved
the pan fried egg, it was one of the best individual breakfast items I've had."

I guess after our experience at
Agrodolce we couldn't understand the mixed reviews. Our service staff was attentive, informative and made us feel very comfortable. All the food was superb and the wines we ordered complimented our meal perfectly. We will highly recommend Agrodolce in the future...................Many thanks!"

Love, love, love this place!! Came
here for my birthday brunch where they easily accommodated all 17 of us. They never rushed us, food was perfect and you can't beat bottomless mimosas!!"
Dined on 2/23/2014
First, I am still ticked off that
Agrodolce sets the table with a bread plate but doesn't supply the bread unless you order it and pay for it. Reminds me of nickel and dimes for baggage fees and food charges on airplanes. This restaurant should give the diner a first class experience including bread. Second, our dinner was ruined by two people at the table next to us who practically yelled their conversation back and forth throughout our seating. It was as though they were in a production factory or talking over ear phones. Sorry, after six or so tries I don't think we'll be going back."
Dined on 2/22/2014
As always, the food at Agrodolce
was wonderful. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I will be going back again."

We dined here for our valentine's
day celebration (though a day prior to valentine's day). We've been to both Tilth and Golden Beetle and really enjoy Maria Hines's restaurants and had been wanting to try Agrodolce since it opened. I had the vegetarian tasting menu and my husband the regular tasting menu. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful! The vegetarian tasting menu went well together with the burrata salad and sunchokes ravioli being my favorite two. I wasn't a huge fan of the dessert, but mostly because I don't really enjoy lemon sorbet. My husband enjoyed his tasting menu, however, felt the dishes were not cohesive, so felt like he was tasting 4 different dishes rather than a meal."

My wife and I love this
restaurant. The food and service are great. Excellent, flavorful food including great pasta and vegetables that are more than an afterthought. We'd recommend it to anyone."

The chef continues to impress with
a great neighrhood gem. Try it and you will agree."
Dined on 2/13/2014
We chose this restaurant for the
food (and because it is a Maria Hines restaurant) and were not disappointed. Everything we ordered from the kale salad to the cinnamon sorbet was delicious and the portions were perfect for a luncheon...not too big but filling."
Dined on 2/12/2014
I wondered about all the reviews
being so mixed, but after eating here, I understand. Food was good, but the service was inattentive."
Dined on 2/14/2014
As always a great experience from
the welcome to the food and the drinks everything is perfect."

best service in a long time, very
friendly. Excellent food"

So, I don't write many reviews. I
tend to write only when they are very very bad, or very very good… Agrodolce is VERY VERY GOOD! My husband and I like to try a new restaurant every time we go out; since we don't go out every week, and there are always new restaurants popping up, this has been an easy task. There are only a few that we would say, "we HAVE to come back!", and Agrodolce is one of those! Part of the reason is, that I wanted to order every entree on the menu - they all looked and sounded that good! We went with another couple and all of us left saying we'll be back. The private area "curtained off" for about 8 is what we will reserve the next time we go…then hopefully, we'll get to sample everything! Delish!!!"

I have always enjoyed my meals
here, service is wonderful-polite not a place to dine if you are rushed! They noticed on one of our visits that a diner was not eating her meal, when pressed she admitted it wasn't "quite right" they went out of their way to make it right for her-very impressive!"
Dined on 9/29/2013
Met a friend and we really enjoyed
our lunch. Great service , beautiful window seats with natural light. Food was terrific. Def. will return soon. We enjoyed the roasted carrot soup, delish. And the broccoli salad, yum. Wished we had time to sample the drink menu, looked great. Next time !"
Dined on 1/17/2014
The food was amazing but I would
never recommend this restaurant. The service is so bad it ruins the experience."
Dined on 1/17/2014
Previous experiences have been
excellent. Unfortunately this time our waiter was short with us and quite rude. To top it off he left for the evening without letting us know that he was gone and forgot to present the bill. Our food was very inconsistent. We hope this is not a trend for this great spot."
Dined on 1/17/2014
The food here is creative and
delicious. The menu has a nice variety with vegan and gluten free options. This does not make up for the high price point, considering the noise level, random an incohesive decor, and inattentive service. We had a reservation but still had to wait 10 minutes after our reservation time to even be acknowledged. I do not think they have a host/hostess. Our waitress was friendly but slow. We had to wait quite a while for everything. The open layout and high ceilings made for a lot of noise. There is a tree in the middle of the dining room that seemed incongruous with the marionettes hanging from the ceiling and bright paintings on the wall. It was not a fine dining experience at fine dining prices."
Dined on 1/16/2014
Agrodolce offered delicious,
beautifully plated food at reasonable prices. It's on par with some of the other fantastic restaurants in town, but very comfortable and a better value. We had a birthday and they took great care of us."
Dined on 1/16/2014
My husband and I really enjoyed
all dishes on his birthday. I love spot prawn. They have fantastic spot prawn dish. It was so delicious. In addition, their pasta was perfect condition."
Dined on 1/14/2014
Agrodulce is a terrific, stylish
restaurant half a block away from the center of Fremont. Its specialty is Sicilian and Southern Italian dishes, and they are done very well. We came back a third time for a prix fixe New Year's Eve dinner. The pasta and rice dishes were excellent, but the portions are very small, especially of any meat or seafood ingredients. The wine list is both good and unusual, but wines by the glass are overpriced. All in all, a very good meal in a pleasant room."
Dined on 12/31/2013
The food was very good. Not
outstanding, but fresh ingredients, well-prepared, nicely presented. Great wine list. The service was very attentive. However, as a 1st generation Italian-American I was hoping for a "taste of home" but didn't get it. TRUE Southern Italian fare consists of simple but fresh ingredients, minimally prepared, with very few spices, allowing flavors to surface uninterrupted. Also, Southern Italian menus feature lots of fish and seafood, and while these were offered, the menu didn't feature them. I'm not sure where in Southern Italy Ms. Hines picked up her regional cooking skills, but it certainly wasn't the parts where my family are from from (Campania and Puglia, my wife's are from Sicily). Not going back..."

We were visiting family from out
of town and wanted to take them out for lunch. Since we didn't know the area at all we once again relied on Open Table and the reviews. This place is just lovely! The lunch menu is diverse and whether you are a carnivore or vegan or any other food devotion, you can find something here. We each had something different and everyone was thrilled with their decision. Portions are large enough for my boyfriend. Had a very nice wine as well. The capstone of the meal was the cinnamon gelato with biscotti for dessert. Wow! Would definitely return if we get the chance...but this time it will be for dinner!!"

Fabulous place.... Beautiful
setting. Comfortable seating. Food was out of this world and the service was great."

Perfect place for dining out. We
went for my wife's birthday and it was perfect. Love the butternut squash ravioli. Highly Recommend."
Dined on 12/26/2013
This is a great little restaurant
specializing in sicilian food. I typically go for lunch and am always satisfied with the food. There are special touches, special combinations of flavors that make the food unique. There is a great selection of sicilian wines, in different price categories, and these go really well with the food. The atmosphere is very casual and lovely."

I would maybe recommend this
restaurant ... We selected the tasting menu one vegetarian and one regular. The soup was good, mussels were great but her vegetarian burrata salad was served with lardo meat on it. She not expecting ate several bites before realizing... Mental or not she was not able to enjoy the rest of her meal knowing the same. The new salad took a while to come out thus putting the meal behind when given the bill the server requested we fill out a comment card as "the owner reads them every morning." I guess they don't follow up on them though as I have had heard nothing after several days... Overall food was good not great ... miss on the vegetarian meal and follow up was a big negative... Thus maybe"

We thought the service was
excellent and the drinks were great. But we also felt the food was overly salty and the lamb burger was served so rare my wife didn't finish hers (although I thought it was tasty). Also, we ordered the antipasit misto and it didn't come with smoked mussel (though we didn't even realize this until after we left the restaurant..)."
Dined on 12/10/2013
the service was a bit sophmoric,
we choose the wine paring with the dinner but the courses came out separatly from the wine, which was brought to the table already poured...more profesionally it should be poured at the table with the course. The food was good but not as exceptional as I had expected. We have liked her other restaurants but this was a bit of a dissapointment."
Dined on 12/7/2013
The food was good and varied.
Everything we had was excellent to the palate and it's presentation. It was rather cold by the window seats. Several women (including my wife) had the keep there overcoats on during dinner. The ambiance was just OK. It was uncomfortable to enjoy dinner while the young "couple" at the table next to us was having a difficult discussion about there relationship, and there relationships with other girl/boy friends. The waitress made a great deal out of pouring wine, water etc. That we had to stop talking and wait for her to finish. it was as if she thought she was the show. It was also quite slow to get water & menu. And then to get the tab to pay the bill."
Dined on 12/6/2013
We did the tasting menu and it was
perfect. Each item was superb and the wine selection was a good match. The service was excellent and friendly. We asked about a substitution and were told they no longer do that as the all the ingredients are meant to complement each other and substitutions can throw that balance off. Our request was based on ODing on a particular veggie recently but they were right, the combination of flavors including that veggie was outstanding. And did I mention that the food is all organic and local?"

Went to Agrodolce to enjoy each
other's company over a delicious brunch, and got almost all we hoped for. Ordered several small plates to share and found the bread pudding bites delectably complex, sweet but not cloying, the scrambled eggs creamy and full of subtle flavor, and the fruit surprising in its combination of citrus, pear, yogurt and sauce, different with each spoonful. Finally, the fried soft boiled eggs with kale and capers added savory to the mix and we lingered over excellent cappuccinos for a lovely weekend morning. The only flaw in the morning was the uneven service, the first waitress slow and even rude, but other wait staff took over and service improved dramatically. Will definitely go here again."
Dined on 11/30/2013
Prix fixe menu was inventive and
great value! Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return again."
Dined on 11/25/2013
creative, unusual, interesting
food and beverage menus. exquisite food. fresh ingredients, delicious flavor combinations, cooked to perfect texture. upbeat decor/ambience. after his first bite, my son said, "we're coming back.""
Dined on 11/26/2013
Love the food, great service,
portions are just too small. Additionally, for Southern Italian, not a lot if tomato-based dishes on the menu."
Dined on 11/22/2013
We had our son's birthday dinner
here. Had never been to the restaurant before. Great service, fabulous food! So creative and different. Only one dish was less than expected and that was the Rigatoni. Presentation could have been better, although flavor was very good. Maybe alittle more energy for this dish. Had the Rabbit dish and it was excellent!!! All other dishes, and we had quite a few to share, were wonderful. All in all a great experience and we would definitely return."
Dined on 11/10/2013
I took my niece here for her
birthday lunch. We both ordered the 40 minute lunch, which took over an hour and a half. The service people seemed to just disappear. There were long waits between each course. The Carrot Soup was good. Could have used a little more spice. The Pasta w/ Sausage was ho-hum. The real star was the Limoncello Sorbet. Absolutely delicious. The food was decent, but the restaurant is nothing special and not really memorable. The service is slow and not attentive at all. I'm baffled how they can offer a 40 minute lunch that no one seems to care how long it takes. They need to step us their service. There are so many great restaurants, I usually give restaurants a second chance, but not sure I'd go back to this one."
Dined on 11/6/2013
My friend and I had a very
pleasant and flavorful lunch--tasty carrot soup, a savory roasted broccoli and delicious rice fritter with a caramel sauce. However, we were the only guests in the restaurant! It was too quiet. Is this still an undiscovered neighborhood gem, or does the formula still need some adjustment?"
