Enjoyed wooded location, lovely ambience and delicious dinners - service was quite slow, though servers were apologetic, gracious and professional. In the past, we have had unfortunate experiences in Guerneville restaurants. Agriculture Bar & Kitchen changed our perspective -- a very nice surprise.

I overheard that they were shutting down for the winter the very next night, so they may have been short staffed, but the services was really bad. Took forever for the waitress to come over then didn't come back for a while. Waited a long time for drinks, and we only ordered beer and wine. We had to ask the busser for bread. Food was pretty good though, and it was a cute place. We were staying at the Inn across the street so the location was great for us. I'd give it a try again if I was in the area.

Needed a place to have breakfast in the Guerneville area. Picked this off Open Table, and the reviews were right. A total winner. The staff was terrific, cheerily moving an umbrella so we could get more sun on the patio on a kind of chilly morning. Great, hearty breakfast menu. Baked eggs were perfectly cooked. Chicken biscuit (fried chicken breast on a buttermilk biscuit) with gravy was phenomenal and rivals the best Southern cooking. Only quandry was that the egg skillet with root vegetable hash actually had squash and no root vegetables. No matter, it was delicious. Coffee was great. The place is very unassuming, you'd cruise right by if you weren't looking for it. But definitely look for it.

I have eaten at this location in its many incarnations over the years. I would not have returned if I knew it was the old Fife's, but Sunset and other publications listed this place as part of the rebirth of Guerneville--how many times have we heard that. And I was fooled into thinking this was somplace new--it is not. The flatbread/pizza appetizer was quite good. The rest of the food was unremarkable, two days later I don't even remember what I ate. Cocktails, wine, dinner and tip (because the service was good) came to $200.00 . Not worth it.

Loved this place - what a great find. Had a delicious dinner here - pulled pork raviolis, amazing salad with goat cheese ranch, hamburger (yum), ribs! So delicious. Great atmosphere as well. Great place to come for a stellar dinner without any pretentious attitudes or atmosphere. Also a great cocktail list - I ordered the cucumber cooler and really liked it. We ate inside as it was a bit cool outside but would like to go back and sit outside on a Warmer summer night. And one last note - order dessert. Had a chocolate something and it was "to die for."

Great food and service. Great to eat under the stars. Bartender was extra attentive - told barback to get "special" glasses bc we ordered a bottle of chardonnay. That was sweet. Downside is they allow kids and the parents are oblivious that sometimes they should reign them in and NOT allow them to run about and scream. Best to avoid dining before 8. Pulled pork ravioli was TDF. Tuna - great! We've been there several items and have never had a bad meal. Thx

We loved the food and drinks at Agriculture Bar & Kitchen. The grass-fed burger was a standout - one of the best burgers I have eaten. Just really good meat, freshly ground, with Gruyere and red onions. Great salads, too. The breakfasts were also amazing, especially anything with poached eggs or those wonderful deep-fried, perfectly seasoned breakfast potatoes. The staff was wonderful; the place is very dog-friendly, which we loved. We'll be back as soon as we can. The cabins and the whole stay was great.

When we arrived, there were very few people in the dining room. There were quite a few wait staff, however, we were given a new server and she was very unsure of herself. We waited a good while to get our starters, i.e., juice, muffins, etc. We also waited quite a while for our breakfast and it didn't help to see people who had come in after us, get their food before we did. The server had to be asked for things like salt and pepper and, after bringing our brunch items, she didn't ask if we needed anything else. The Manager came over to ask about our food and we had to ask him for toast to go with the eggs, etc. As for the food, it was just average. The venue is beautiful though but improvements need to be made to food & service.

Went for a Saturday night dinner. It starts with the whole confusion about the name and signage of this place. Just put up a darn sign if you want to call this place the Agriculture Bar. Food is just fair, everything just missed the mark there also. Soft shell crab special was awful: greasy tempura style. Other items were all fair and nothing special and definitely overpriced for the quality. Service was poor, very slow for not being very busy. I think the there are problems in the kitchen too. It may be there don't have enough staff. This place seems to be trying to put a fancy spin on what is in effect a big barn-style room cozy country kitchen place and pass it off as a trendy bay-area restaurant/bar.

We chose this restaurant for lunch because of its location as we had business in the area. We arrived slightly early for our 1 pm reservation to be told the chef was only serving a brunch menu. (The lunch menu was supposed to be offered after 1 pm but apparently this was not the case the day we were there). So this may not have been a fair test of the food. The servers were pleasant but appeared to know very little about the food and the wine they were handling. There's too much competition in the Bay area/Wine Country to bother going back to this restaurant unless you just want an indifferent sandwich.

There were eight in our group and each of us had an outstanding meal. The menu choices met everyone's needs, it was hard to decide which of us had the better food. The service was wonderful. There was a full bar so after a day of wine tasting it was great to have a refreshing cocktail. They are a 5 star dining experience.

The food is outstanding. It is all locally produced and fresh. Everything is home made. While not inexpensive, it is worth every bite and rivals many restaurants in the Bay Area. We have a second home in Guerneville and this has become our go-to place. Yes, in Guerneville, of all places. It is rare that I am at a restaurant where it is difficult to choose an entree. The Agriculture Bar and Kitchen is just that place. If you are passing through the Russian River area, Agriculture is highly recommended. The new chef is on his way to making a splash in a growing culinary area.

It was such a pleasant surprise to find this "hidden" gem in Guerneville. Agriculture Bar and Kitchen exceeded my expectations for food, atmosphere, and service. The big bar is fabulous, and I plan to return sometime with friends just to sit at the bar for drinks. It's a lovely, rustic building set in the redwoods -- lots of wood in the interior. The food was very good, as was the service. This is definitely a place to return to many times over.

Dont let the funny name detour you from trying this great restaurant, the atmosphere, service , ambiance and food make this place a "highly recommended" on my list. We went for the Sonoma Restaurant week and had their prie-fixe dinner. They also grow and make one of the best Syrah rose wines I have ever tasted, reminiscent of those fine high quality rosado wines.

We went for New Year's Eve. Very pleasant. The website mentioned additional specials for New Year's Eve but the only special was surf and turf for $45. We would have liked a couple more options. The service was great as was the ambiance. The food was very good. The ribs in hoisen sauce were tasty and the choice of 4 or 8 was a good option. The salmon was perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed his pasta.

I was very disappointed with this visit. This place was Roadhouse and it was a tradition to eat here every year upon our visit to Guerneville (Jazz & Blues Festival). Agriculture Bar has very limited menu and the prices were too high for the menu choices ($26.00 for chicken, really?). Unfortunately I feel this will be my last visit to this establishment.

The Ribs and Onion Rings were excellent as starters. Very tasty and not "typical". The chilled tomato soup was also excellent. I think all members of our party enjoyed their main entree. I had the Wild King Salmon and it was very good. It came with smashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The potatoes were a little "too loose" for my taste and the grilled vegetables were slices of grilled yellow squash. I would have preferred a medley of grilled vegetables, not only for taste but for color, but all was tasty. I liked the simplicity of the decor and the view of the old style cabins and redwoods from the large picture windows that ring the restaurant. I would definitely partake at the Agriculture Bar again.

Our group of six dined al fresco on the outside deck with the panoramic Russian River hillside of pines as backdrop and a view of the resort grounds dotted with ancient, giant redwoods. Starting with a cone of crisp sweet potato fries and a bottle of house Zinfandal, we knew we were in good culinary hands. At our request, the chef kindly prepared a family style version of the night's special: seafood paella, a cornucopia of clams, mussels, calamari, chorizo and vegetables on a flavorful bed of saffron rice. Agricultural Bar and Kitchen will easily be able to hold its own amidst upscale restaurant players in the Russian River wine country. A welcome addition to Guernville's downtown dining scene.
