We loved it. We went early, so it was quiet, but it has a bar, too. We sat in a room off to the side with cheerful paintings and a cozy atmosphere.
The service was excellent yet unobtrusive. The waiter was very polite and attentive.
I had the arroz con pollo. It was amazing! It had a unique flavor that I loved. We had both started with salads. They were fresh and the dressing was unique and refreshing ( my salad was the queso de cabra...goat cheese).
For dessert, we shared the Cuban Cigars: it was a pastry with fruit and ice cream (that's my description). Outstanding! We both loved it. I don't go for overly heavy desserts. This was perfect and I could have had the whole thing!
We were veryhappy.

I've come here several times and this time the food was very good. I had the vaca frita. I also brought one of my sisters with me who never had been to Agozar and she enjoyed the food. Especially the dessert. I would go back.

We were celebrating a birthday, still the noise level was extraordinarily high, especially for a Wednesday night. Fortunately, the food was very tasty. We all devoured our entrees and dessert. Everything was delicious, including my mojito and the sangria.

I enjoyed my time at Agozar! The food was good although the drinks were a little weak and tasted just like juice. We decided to actually stay after we finished eating and we spent a great deal of time at the bar for the rest of our night and had many rounds of drinks and received two free shots on the house! It was great and I enjoyed my overall experience there! I would definitely go back!

I would totally recommend this adorable neighborhood gem in the East Village. We have eaten there several times and are very pleased with the food and service every time. We recently had a family party there and couldn't have been more pleased. Diana took the time to plan a special menu for us and even personalized the menu as it was a surprise Birthday party! As there are so many great restaurants in the East Village, Agozar is our favorite! It is a fun, relaxing Cuban cuisine with excellent food and service.

Agozar is a casual Cuban bistro with small plates and main courses. Depending on what you order, the food is average to good: the shrimp ceviche and camarones with double garlic sauce are above average, while their vegetariano rice-beans-and-vegetables platter, recommended by the waitperson, was dry and uninspiring. Servers were eager to please but sometimes missing in action. Sit outdoors; inside is a bit dark. A pleasant place to sit and observe the neighborhood, while enjoying food that is solid, if uninspiring.

I came here for brunch with some friends for their all-you-can-drink sangria brunch special. The food was okay, the eggs benedict were a little bit dry but the flavor was there. The service was a little bit slow, as there were only two waiters taking care of the entire room. Overall it was good for super casual dining but don't expect anything over the top.

Wait staff had an attitude. They ran out of the "unlimited bloody marys" and still charged us for them and would not substitute other unlimited drinks besides sangria. If you're drinking a bloody mary...it's unlikely you'd want to switch to a sweet drink like sangria. Alos, we're in the middle of Manhattan, how does a restaurant run out of mix at 12:30? Run to the deli and buy some more....
