Diner Reviews
  • "Everything tasty and service was speedy. We ordered 5 mezze for the two of us, and it was just the right amount of food, if you include the bread basket, although 4 morsels of swordfish for $14 seemed a little skimpy..."

  • "I'm in DC on extended business, and I've been to Agora's Saturday brunch twice already. The menu selection, quantity, and quality are excellent, and the service is great. Must try Baba Ghanouj, Pastirma Eggs Benedict, and Brioche French Toast."

  • "Delicious food, every plate we got was great. Service was hit or miss, but it was a chill, laid back environment. Delish."

  • "Highly recommend the bottomless brunch. The staff was very attentive and all the food/drinks were great."

  • "Great food, good prices- it's worth it to do the unlimited brunch. They keep the drinks flowing but the food service was a little off the mark in terms of sequencing. Friendly staff."

  • "Great options, surely 3 tapas each is fine for sharing. We ordered too much! But was fine. Zinfindale wine was amazing with lamb chops!"

  • "Great food and place. Hostess not that friendly or happy. But waiters / waitresses are real nice cheerful and a over average service. Nice variety and quality of dishes."

  • "Small plates of delectable food. there were 5 of us and we ordered 10 dishes. ALL were very good. Some I wished we could have had more, but 2 plates each was a good amount. The stuffed zucchini blossoms were very much a winner as was the sausage dish. Wines were inexpensive and good - we happened on a 1/2 price night which made them even better. The more people who have joining you, the more fun as you can try more dishes. EXCELLENT"

  • "Having our wedding reception at Agora later this month and enjoyed a nice dinner sampling our options. Very excited to have our reception there! It's going to be great!"

  • "They do it right! One of my fave restaurants in the city!"

  • "I was hosting a friend who is vegan (but will eat cheese) and wanted to find restaurants that offered something more interesting than the normal vegetarian fare. Some friends recommended Agora and it was a great choice. They offered the bottomless brunch which was a great choice because it allowed us to gorge, I mean, sample almost everything on the menu. Everything was great, but the stars were the hummus, which was buttery smooth, and the htipiti, which we couldn't pronounce but we had no problems eating. Although we didn't drink a lot, it was nice to have the option of bottomless bloody mary's and mimosas. On a beautiful like we had, eating outside is a nice option."

  • "Agora never disappoints! The selection of small plates is amazing! I eagerly wish to return to try something new."

  • "There wer 4 of us for the Father's Day Brunch. Everyone enjoyed the selection of dishes. Our server was very attentive and our food arrived quickly. Good mimosas too!"

  • "Agora has a wonderful bottomless brunch deal that I got when I went with a large group of friends the first time. The second time was with my parents, and while we didn't get the bottomless deal, it was still a great time. The food is excellent! And they make a wonderful bloody mary"

  • "Waiter was a little slow getting our order taken and bringing our drinks to the table. They were busy and he recognized the wait, apologized and later offered us a couple of complimentary desserts which weren't note worthy. We tasted 7-8 of their dishes. We tried 7-8 dishes and they were all pretty tasty along with the bread they served. Drinks were good except for the hot drink 31-80 or something like that. It was definitely a spicy drink and one you shouldn't save as your last drink of the evening."

  • "We had a group of five, seated inside. Fantastic food (everything) and we shared many dishes. Plates are definitely 'small', so be ready to order roughly 2 per person, then share all around. Wine was great, too!"

  • "My two friends and I share birthday celebrations every year and we always dine at new restaurants. We chose this restaurant because it had uniformly good reviews. Not disappointed. We ordered a waive of small plates, and each one was delicious. Only one minor complaint and that was that the service was a little slow. However, the atmosphere is good and the waitress was very pleasant and helpful."

  • "Agora is a restaurant that never disappoints. The fare is tapas (small plates) and there is great variety. The warm bread that arrives at your table, along with tapenade is delicious! Their chicken, fish and lamb plates are outstanding!"

  • "The food was very tasty and every dish we ordered was enjoyable. Service was friendly and accomodating. Their menu seemed to have many new additions and we would certainly return."

  • "Agora is one of our favorites! Great food, reasonable prices, and excellent service."

  • "My cousin and I had sunday´s brunch at agora restaurant in dupont circle. The service, food and drinks were pretty good. Although we arrived a little bit late, the mantain our table and we were able to taste many dishes in a very quick manner. The price is good too. The only thing that i missed from this brunch: i would add roasted meats and/ or roasted ham for additional price."

  • "After trying Agora for lunch, we went for supper a few days later. Consistently tasty food! Outdoor dining is ideal, in a buzzing neighborhood. Service is amiable and helpful. The tapas-style menu for the evening might be a put-off to some (portions are on the small side), but the food is excellent. Extensive if pricey wine list."

  • "We stumbled across this great find in the area south of Dupont Circle: quieter neighborhood but not devoid of energy and activity, especially in the evenings. The outdoor seating on a hot day was welcome! Though there were not many customers, the food at lunchtime was terrific! The special luncheon menu was a spectacular deal (14.95): splendid appetizer, tasty sandwiches, salad and baklava. Though it was a Greek name, the menu is decidedly Turkish-flavored. Great, amiable service (Daria). Will return!"

  • "Brunch was OK. Mezze were good, not great. Hostess was not very welcoming....lots of open tables, but she would only seat me before my friend arrived if I promised to order a drink right away. Clearly, this is not her decision, bur restaurant policy. Kind of silly and unneccessary with lots of open tables, though...."

  • "With all of the new places in DC this is one we keep coming back too. The food is great and the tapas style menu encourages food tasting and conversation. "

  • "I regularly visit AGORA DC because of its respectable menu, wine list, and ambiance. This particular visit yielded exceptional service and the food was delicious as usual. This place never fails to impress me or anyone I visit with."

  • "I've lived in DC for 3 years and am typically underwhelmed by most restaurants (the food isn't fresh, or it's greasy, or in the case of non-American cuisine, it's not authentic). I was completely, utterly astounded at the flavor, freshness, and deliciousness of Agora's menu. My fiance and I went for a graduation meal after receiving my law school diploma and I wish I could put into words the delightful meal we munched through that evening. It was the perfect high note to a great day and I'm incredibly glad we found ourselves relaxing on Agora's patio afterward."

  • "Great for brunch! We took friends who were visiting and sat outside. It was great!"

  • "The food was fantastic, service great and we did not feel rushed to leave after 2 hours. We will definitely be back soon~!"
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "Offputting that, after "hello," the next comment from the hoestess was that we could only have our table until 8 pm. This was further annoying because our waiter was not particularly prompt and the restaurant was still 1/3 empty at 7:45. Other than that, a nice restaurant and meal. Turkish coffee was excellent."

  • "The unlimited brunch was delicious and our waiter was very friendly! Would definitely recommend."

  • "10's across the board. I took a friend from college and a picky eater. A little intimidated by the menu at first but I raved about the food so much and said anything they got would be delicious. I knew Agora would come through for me. They loved everything about it. The waiter was amazing as always and I can't wait to go back. "

  • "My fiance and I found Agora one night just walking through the neighborhood and we have returned several times to mark birthdays and our engagement. By far the best choice in DC when it comes to Mediterranean food. I have hosted laid-back gatherings and special events. They do a fantastic job."

  • "i am a vegetarian and enjoyed the choice of selections. white tablecloths looked nice."

  • "Great service throughout lunch and great recommendations by our waitress. The bottomless brunch lasted 2 hours but we never made it that far. The french toast was my favorite dish and I recommend it to anyone who eats lunch at AGORA."

  • "Food was good. Bottomless drinks and food was nice (just be sure your whole table is willing to do the deal)."

  • "Ishmael was our waiter/ the bartender. Though he was really busy at the bar he was still attentive to our table. Very friendly too, showing off his little boy who came in with his wife. Of course, the food is delicious. Don't let the fancy Turkish style menu discourage you from going. They still have great traditional omelets and benedicts and french toast- but the star of the show were the variety of spreads (hummus, baba, labneh) . We went with four people and ordered almost everything on the menu to share. We all enjoyed the food. The best thing about this brunch is the open bar. Not only can you have bloodies ( which are garlicky and very tasty) and mimosas, vodka gin rum and tequila are also included. Great brunch worth the price!"
