Always good- one minor exceptionMade Open Table reservations for 7 people at 8pm. Telephoned Aged just before 8 to say we're running late & would be there by 8:30. Arrived & waited at the bar while table being prepared. While waiting, a Server "mistakenly" placed other new arrivals at our table and we were forced to wait another 15 minutes. The Owner apologized for the mistake & bought us a round of drinks to compensate. Enough said. The food & service that followed was excellent as usual. Brought our own wine, $25 corkage fee. Jessica greeted us as our server, she was DELIGHTFUL!!! We started with Blue Point Oysters, they were really big and very tasty. We shared the Porterhouse Steak, had the Chimichurri sauce and the Cheese sauce. I'd highly recommend the Chimichurri sauce. Although the steak was good, I was hoping it would have had more flavor. Get the Lava cake, to die for! And thanks to Jessica for the extra whipped cream!!! Apparently, brunch is only held on Sunday's by many restaurants, but not Aged. They have brunch til 3pm and it is delicious!!!!!For $14, you get a choice of an entree and a free cocktail. Very filling and very good. Still it's costly enough to save for special occasions. Of note are the "starters";(Mussels Luciano, Crab Cakes, Crispy Tuna...) very fresh, perfectly cooked, arranged and combined with superbly prepared, drizzled complimentary sauces. Their raw oysters were flawless, very fresh and clean. Their wine list was servicable, a good compliment to both their seafood and meat offerings, and affordable. The young staff is friendly and attentive.
A second accolade is their choice of music which is conducive for dining. Can't say the same of a restaurant, "Cabana", couple doors down which blasts you with Hard Rock, etc. and makes conversation impossible.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI would like to commend theI would like to commend the manager. Our choices were limited to a special menu but the options were pretty good. We both started with the delicious french onion soup. I went with the fried calamari which was a bit overcooked and my boyfriend went with the baked clams which were tastier. I chose the salmon (overcooked) over couscous (bland) while my boyfriend went with the steak which was well cooked but the garlic mash side was overpowering and the mixed veggies forgettable. We both really loved the dessert, he went with the NY Cheesecake and I had a deliciously light chocolate cake. Service was superb throughout the meal from the attentive waitstaff but I wouldn't rush back for the food.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AMScott StamfordI have only been there for brunch on Saturday and Sunday and both times it was great. The place isn't that big so it is a good idea to make a reservation. The food and service is good and the place is energetic. It is a great value.
