  • "We went to this restaurant last weekend and much to our surprise they have changed their menu yet again. A new, new menu. We have been going to this restaurant from the beginning but all of the menu changes are starting to wear thin. First it was upscale Mexican, which we loved. Then, it went to upscale something - general, I guess. Didn't like it the first time but it was better the second time. Now the menu is much more casual but nothing is left that we loved from the original menu. Not sure that we will be going back."

  • "The food was excellent. My wife had the agave burger and fries which were very good. I had the cioppino. It was good with mahi, scallops, shrimp and mussels. The broth was also good. My cousin had a Caesar salad. He said it was good, but I wasn't impressed by how it looked. The restaurant was almost empty. The menu did not have a lot of choices for dinner."

  • "This is our first time there since Agave changed it's menu. Should not have waited that long. My wife loved the short rib empanadas - get the dinner short ribs next time. The mussels in mole were out of this world - think of a more complex green Thai curry - herbaceous, spicy, but not that hot, a little nutty - just wonderful - and it was $8 appetizer with more mussels than I've had a other restaurant's entrees. We then had to grab off some dates in bacon sitting on the best restaurant romesco sauce we've had anywhere. Then we split the coppino. Massive amounts of fish, scollops, 3 huge shrimp, mussels in a fennel tomato broth that was rich and smooth. Ask for server Carlos - knowledgeable, polite, helpful."

  • "One of our formerly favorite West Coast of FL restaurants. The Lamb Osso Bucco was... over cooked? microwaved? Not sure, but it was tough, dry, and leathery. Drinks seemed watered down too. Service is still great, but the food was not up to par with the price. Doubt I'll go back."

  • "Agave offers an interesting drink menu and reasonably priced (a rare thing these days) wine selection. The menu is relatively limited when it comes to entrees, but the ten or so offerings are diverse, creative and beautifully prepared and presented. Service was attentive and professional. There is also a small plates menu offering sliders and the like for the smaller appetite. Try the guacamole!"

  • "Two couples met for a New England reunion. Outdoor seating for a pre dinner cocktail was very comfortable and pleasant. Terrific selection of Margheritas. The service throughout the experience was excellent. The dinner choices were two black groupers, one horse radish encrusted salmon, and one braised short ribs, all plated very attractively, and most important cooked beautifully. Nothing but thumbs up and appreciation from this group. Portions were more than ample, and after a delicious guacamole appetizer and caesar salads there was no room left for dessert. As with most reunions, the conversation was extended, and we were very nicely accommodated with no pressure to move on as we spent about three hours at Agave, a perfect evening."

  • "I would like to know the results of your "investigation" and what you concluded. We went to this restaurant at the scheduled time with our friends. We sat at table 62; Patty was our waitress; we paid with an American Express card; and we had our Agave loyalty card swiped. After all of that, you accused us of blowing off the reservation and said that you had to "investigate" whether we actually showed up. I am quite perturbed about this and now you want us to rate the experience that you claim didn't happen? I don't think so."

Would have had food from bar menu if not meeting friends for dinner. Noise level moderate so we could talk without shouting and being hoarse at end of evening. Appetizer and salad plenty for dinner."

  • "Our neighbors and ourselves really enjoyed Saturday night at Agave. The food was excellent and service was great. The food was very fresh and tasty. We only found one item to be served a slight tacky. We ordered the guacamole appetizer w/ shrimp. The shrimp came in 6 pieces. Only 3 shrimp slice in half. When you pick up the shrimp it was thin and flimsy. It would have been better to serve a few more shrimp and leave whole. For $10.00 it was a delicious appetizer but the shrimp was a focus for criticism. Other then that the dinner was enjoyable. Keep it up and don't ruin the menu. We had been there when Agave first opened and never cared for the menu. Now it has a better variety of items to chose for evening dining."

We ordered the guacamole which is still the best, but I missed the experience of having it made table side. Also ordered filet sliders which were good too. And Margaretas that continue to be excellent, though there were not as many to choose from. I didn't order an entrée but they looked good."

  • "Agave is trying to figure out who it is. The food we had was very nice, but we missed the sense of a commitment to a few really special dishes that it used to have. The guacamole was not anything as special as its previous tableside offering (before they changed their menu) and was a fairly small portion for $10.00. You will get a good meal there, but nothing that really pops...I wish they would commit to something that would give them more of a definite identity. On the plus side, our service was excellent and so was the filet mignon that two of us ordered."

  • "Got there at Happy Hour and it took so long to get our drinks they would not let us have the half price drink. It was not even crowded !It looked like the bartender had no clue what he is doing. Very inexperienced waiter! My friend said "I'll have a cab" and he thought she needed a taxi! This Resturant is under new management and at this rate they are never going to make it! Wanted to know where we were from! Why?"

  • "We have been to Agave on past trips and found it to be very enjoyable. Great food with a southwest/Mexican flair and atmosphere. However, we were surprised to find the entire menu completely redone, except for a chicken burrito and the guacamole, (no longer prepared table side). The meal options were ones you could get anywhere in Naples. We were told that this was due to customer input from a survey. Based on the few people in the restaurant (used to be packed), those who filled out the survey were not eating there either. Service slow and inattentive. Food good, but overpriced for what you got. High drink prices. Deconstructed Caesar salad was just way overthought and difficult to eat. Would not recommend anymore with the changes."

A place that seems to pride itself on its bar should have someone on staff who can handle a kir. The take: good if not outstanding food, which is Job One; nice atmosphere, big on courtesy, shy on service, (waited too long for entrees, waited far too long for waitress to return at end of meal, so skipped coffee/desert)."

  • "Our family of 5 (1 under 10) met for Valentine's Day lunch for what we thought was going to be a meal with a SW flair. There wasn't much by way of SW food. I understand they went through a recent menu change but it wasn't even close to what we were expecting. What we did have was very good (added stress on the very good part) but was overpriced in our opinion. Not much in the habit of spending over $80 (excluding tip) for a family lunch no matter how good. Especially when no alcohol was consumed and most of the family ate vegetables (1 vegan and 2 vegetarians = 3 salad entrees). Even our youngest only had a cheese quesadilla. The service was outstanding; no other way to describe it. The meal, however, just wasn't worth it."
