the décor is the first impression of WOW! It's beautiful and romantic. Then the service is exceptional. The restaurant starts you off with a treat from the kitchen and amazing cranberry raisin bread. The menu is small but gives enough choice. Try the Beef Tenderloin its their signature dish and its wonderful. If you have room the cheesecake (for sharing) was delicious. I suggest a nice long walk to the Falls. Very romantic you won't be disappointed with this choice in dining establishments.

Farm to table with unique menu selections. Waitstaff was thorough in explaining what was served. Chef paid attention to flavors and presentation. Wednesday was half price on a bottle of wine and we did go with the staff recommendation. I am glad we did, as the wine delivered as described-cherry undertones but not sweet. This was a local winery item with a charming history. We also ordered deserts, which were phenomenal. Food was reasonably priced for an upscale dining experience. Oh, and we received a surprise of an oyster if a half shell after we ordered. It was amazing. This spoken by someone who has always avoided oysters. We will be back to enjoy the ambiance of white linen dining, jazzy music, and warm lighting.

As avid 'foodies' AG never disappoints us. We hadn't been there for quite some time but decided to go back for our anniversary dinner. You just can't compare other Niagara restaurants to AG. The ambience is upscale and exciting. The service is wonderful. The food is always amazing.

We started out splitting the smoked scallop appetizer which was excellent. The entrees were equally impressive - the halibut which was perfectly cooked and the duck with a smoked eggplant puree which was amazing. After the entree, neither one of us was still hungry, but as delicious as the meal was, we had to try a dessert. Again we were thrilled with the semifreddo. It was one of the best complete meals that I have ever had. If six stars was an option I would have given it a six. Our server was also great, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive without being overbearing.

My husband and I love to try restaurants that focus on local sourcing and fresh, organic ingredients. So when we were planning a trip to Niagara Falls, the AG came on to my radar early. I got emailed the restaurant to ensure that we could accommodate my milk protein allergy, and I received an email from the executive chef very quickly to confirm that this was entirely possible. So I booked the reservation. Despite our late arrival (20 minutes, due to miscalculations on our part of the local bus system), they were flexible and able to sit us anyway. The wait staff were excellent and very helpful in making dairy-free selections for the appetizer and entree. Both of our selections were incredible. Excellent choice, great experience!

If you are looking for a hungryman dinner this is not the place for you. The portions are not overly large but just big enough for the normal appetite. The service is professional and attentive and the menu creations are creative. The ambiance is a little dark since the restaurant is in the basement of the inn and spa but is very well done and comfortable. Both the Victory Leaves and Summer Watermelon Salad we very tasty and fresh appetizers. The entrees of Red deer(AKA venison) and lamb sirloin were very well prepared and the condiments were excellent. Both of these dishes are normally served medium rare but can be cooked more if requested without being tough. We can also recommend the Panna Cotta and Pavlo for dessert

Amidst the hundreds of eating places in Niagara Falls – where the Sysco trucks line up to deliver the half-prepared dinners to the restaurant community – there is pure gold at AG. Since their namesake is silver (periodic table), either element is apropos to describe the chef-prepared, farm-to-table meals that are an oasis in this desert of real cooking. The chic cellar houses an intimate dining environment. We did watermelon salad with cucumbers and pickled onions, the red deer and the roast chicken, and desserts that are beyond the ordinary. Well-trained servers move fluidly, attending to every diner’s needs, we felt we got great value ($80 per person including cocktails, wine, coffee and dessert ) and a great experience.

We visited AG for our anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely wonderful - flavorful, appropriate portion sizes, great mixes of ingredients. The wine pairings also were oustanding with each course. My only criticism is that, for a fine dining experience, I felt that the courses came out a bit too quickly. I would have liked to have more time to savor the course I was finishing - and the wine pairing - before the next course arrived.

This is a funky place for dinner. looks like it could be turned into night club with a 5 minute transition. I decided to take the three courses with wine pairing, great choice as the wines were well suited for the courses. Kelly our waitress presented every plate with an educated explanation and the wine portion served with each course was very generous. Romantic spot, I will be back.

Both the menu and wine list were fairly limited in choice, but the quality and focus on local providers were greatly appreciated. My husband had the beef tenderloin and I had the red deer, both of which were fantastic. Our food was cooked to perfection, super tender, and full of flavor. Definitely worth going off the beaten path to have dinner!

We were pleasantly surprised on our first visit to AG at The Sterling. While the local neighborhood continues to undergo significant improvement, the AG will serve as a base for higher end food service providers. Located a block from the bustling Clifton Hill area, the menu at AG will satisfy all who are interest in local Canadian food and drink. Menu items included Red Deer, Rainbow Trout, and various local fruits and vegetables and are change daily. Anyone who has visited and enjoyed Canoe in Toronto will also find much to like at the AG.

We have been here twice and have always been impressed. This trip I has the red deer loin and the vintage salad. The deer was marvelous- tender, flavorful and well presented with nice seasonal veggies. I love the presentation touch where the person who presents the food describes exactly what you have. My girlfriend got the crab crusted cod and liked that too- perhaps the fish was a touch over-cooked. My only complaint is that the portions are small for me; I needed more food. I don't eat desert and with a salad and main course wasn't nearly sated. That said, we'll be back when we're in the Falls area.

There is not much fine dining in my area so I don't have much experience with it. But I am hooked now. This place was just wonderful! The service, the atmosphere, the food. Everythino was wonderful. Cannot wait to go again. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. I found the prices equivalent with The Keg but does not compare in any other way. I had the beef tenderloin. Cooked to perfection. I have left overs and can't wait to get to it. Great wine list with plenty of local wineries. Server was helpful with local winery visiting tips.

When you think of Niagara Falls, hopefully you think of the majestic beauty of nature, and if you are lucky, sharing that with the one you love. But let's face it, the locale has also become a kitsch "funspot" with all sorts of extraneous distractions for young and old. Nothing wrong with that, but it might make you feel resigned to lackluster dining. AG at The Sterling will prove that fear unfounded. A first-class restaurant, with elegant and knowledgeable service, right on the edge of all the kitsch on the Canadian side of the Falls! As is the trend, the ingredients are locally sourced and precisely labeled as to their provenance. Even the drinks feature local potions, all successfully. Beyond that, the food is delicious!

However, it is currently out of our price range. For that reason, although we would love to come back, we doubt if we will be able to do so. Great restaurant. Now, my one complaint- wife and I are Texans and this was our first time at AG so when we entered The Sterling and there was no one in sight, our anxiety was terrible and although it was probably only a minute or so before a clerk appeared behind the desk, there is no excuse for not greeting guests as they enter the building. Once we got to the restaurant itself, my pulse finally started to slow. The look is modern but not wide open- good use of sheer fabric to give a more private, intimate feel. Wine list was extensive - not just the local wineries. Service was efficient but somewhat cold. Food was mainly locally sourced, well prepared, and had some slightly different (but not overly imaginative) combinations.

This restaurant is a little off the main drag in Niagara Falls, so it felt as if we had found a hidden gem. This restaurant features all locally grown and raised menu items which was an added bonus for us. Our food was a delight for the eye and palate. Each dish that I had and that I sampled from my husband's plate was a creative combination of flavors and textures that made my mouth say, "WOW!" The wine options, also from local vineyards, were good. The service was perhaps the best my husband and I have ever had - not intrusive yet attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant for foodies on a date night or anyone who wants a phenomenal dining experience.

Highly recommend by a friend, restaurant down stairs in Spa/hotel. Nice ambiance, very welcomed by the very attentive staff. Menu was seasonal using local produce. We were guided through it expertly by Lindsey. The food was outstanding and it is obvious that the chef and sous chef take an immense pride in what they do. Each course was presented very well and explained as it was presented. Wine list was local to Niagara and bottle of unfiltered Cabernet we had was exceptional. I will say that we had August 13 one of the most delicious and memorable meals in our whole 36 years of marriage. Definitely on my recommend list for people who maybe visiting the area.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of live music, but girl playing guitar there was just awesome and really fit in overall atmosphere. We were there with kids (the only people with kids:)) and felt very comfortable, but this is not the place where you want to go with kids and its not because somebody was unhappy that we brought children, just atmosphere there is so romantic, you want to save this visit for something special.
