A word from Afternoon Tea - Grand America Hotel
The elegant Victorian style team in Salt Lake City is at The Grand America. Guests are served on Tunisia China designed exclusively for the hotel. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to savor views of the garden courtyard while you savor the small pleasures of a traditional English afternoon tea.
Choose from a variety of premium international teas along with tea sandwiches made with cucumber, Pacific cold smoked salmon, watercress, and more. Later, a delectable array of freshly baked scones (served with homemade strawberry jam and Devonshire cream), flaky pastries, rich tortes, and delightful petit fours await your pleasure.
You’ll be soothed by the gentle music of a softly-played harp or piano, giving this classic event a distinctively European ambience. Afternoon Tea at Grand America offers a memorable experience like no other in Salt Lake City.

My 8 yr old daughter and I really
enjoyed ourselves at the Afternoon tea. It was her first time having a real tea time and she was just enchanted. The harp in the background, the friendly waitress, and the tea were just wonderful. All the food was the perfect size and had some real creativity. Some of the little sandwiches weren't really our style. The salmon rolls, we don't like fish; the chicken salad sandwiches had a little too much red pepper, and the cucumber sandwiches tasted a little off with the olive & pimentos on top. But all and all the PB & J and all the other sandwiches were just delicious! Our waitress was a really sweetie and the desserts were amazing."

The atmosphere and food were both
exquisite, they serve nothing but the highest quality food and drink and pair it off with outstanding service! If you're looking for a unique experience like no other, then I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something for a special occasion!"

We wanted a memorable and
dellicious birthday celebration for mother - daughter date.....we were not disappointed in any way....we were running a little late and Open Table made it easy to change the reservation.....the table with a view was waiting.....The chef even accomnodated my daughter's vegetarian needs with his special touch! Will look forward to the next time we enjoy Afternoon Tea!"

The hotel, ambience, and service
was wonderful. The harp was played beautifully. But, the bread on the sandwiches was dry and the salmon rolls were not good. The Afternoon Tea is over priced. If it was less expensive we would come more often. Thank you."

This was just a lovely time with
my friend. It was peaceful with the Harp playing in the background and the snow flurres outside the window in the garden. I look forward to coming another time- great place to bring visiting friends."

This is one of my go-to special
occasion experiences. The setting is elegant, the harp music relaxing. The menu is a just right sampler of sandwiches and desserts. The tea menu offered many options. We all tried something different and nobody was disappointed. The service was friendly and helpful."

My bosom friend and I go to
Afternoon Tea every season and we just adore every experience. The servers are always absolutely lovely and so kind. We love listening to the harp as we just catch up. I love that we are never hurried and we are free to just sit at tea at our leisure. A truly unforgettable experience!"

Took my granddaughter and we had
fun. The food wasn't great but it was still a fun experience. The service was good."

I recently took my mother as well
as a few other ladies to afternoon tea as part of my mothers Christmas present, and I must say that it wasn't worth the money we paid. We had to ask for more hot water for our teas multiple times as the server kept forgetting, we were not informed that the hot chocolate would not be refilled and would cost an extra charge (if some of our party had known, they would not have ordered it), we also had to ask for refills on our water glasses. Our waitress also informed at the end of her service that the gratuity was not included in the bill, which I knew as I could see that on there...I thought this was a bit tacky. I would say that our overall experience was just okay."

The HIgh Tea at Grand America was
just wonderful, a real treat. It was a unique experience that was very enjoyable and different from the "usual" places."

The food is amazing. It is a
beautiful and relaxing setting to gather with friends anytime, but especially at Christmas time. I just wish that there were a few Christmas decorations in the area. It may because not everyone celebrates Christmas. So put in a winter theme or something to make it feel special."

Tradition w/friends to have Tea
together at the Grand Am. Herbal tea selection upgraded, thanks! Would love to see some variation from year to year in the finger sandwich selection. Lovely way to spend a couple of hours w/dear friends in a beautiful, calm, old world fashion."

I brought my granddaughter and 5
of her friends for "Tea with Santa" and to celebrate my granddaughter's 10th Birthday. The girls just couldn't get over how "elegant" everything was, and enjoyed Santa & Mrs. Claus very much!"

Friends/coworkers & I attended in
celebration of a recent achievement at work, and had a wonderful experience. Definitley a fun and unique afternoon event! I plan to take my mother in the near future! Plenty of groups with men, too, so don't think High Tea is just for the ladies."

My mother and daughter have a
tradition of tea at the Grand America when my mother is in town. This time, they invited me to join them. Tea on Thursday afternoon was an enjoyable escape from the hectic work week. The staff was very accommodating of our food needs (vegetarian) and attentive (but not overly attentive). The ambiance was beautiful and we enjoyed walking through the hotel to see the Christmas windows and giant ginger house after our tea. We spent three luxurious hours enjoying tea and the wonders of the Grand America and it felt as though we were on a much longer vacation."

What a wonderful way to start the
holiday season. Having tea with family makes a lovely afternoon, seeing the window displays, listening to lovely music. If we are in the Salt Lake City area next for the holiday, plan on going back."

I love going to tea at the Grand
America Hotel. The food is always delicious and traditional and the tea itself is high quality. The scones in particular are perfect. It also doesn't hurt that there's usually a harpist and the whole place is just gorgeous."

Wonderful experience. I took my 8
year old daughter. The wait staff was excellent and even brought her a special plate of food in case she didn't like any of the "fancy" stuff. The tea was delicious and hot. We both had a great time. Even though it is just tea and "snacks" you won't need dinner after."

I chose to do an afternoon tea as
part of my birthday celebration. I got a group of girlfriends (we're in our 20's) and got dressed up in cute dresses and cardigans. The food was amazing! We all left stuffed! The service was excellent as well."

I had been to Afternoon Tea one
other time and was so impressed the time before that I brought a close friend with me this time to celebrate her birthday. As expected, everything was superb. Our server was Blair who brings the whole experience together with his effortless charm and hospitality. The food was delicious and the desserts were nothing short of decadent. We can't wait to go back and be treated like royalty again."

My daughter and I have been
looking for a tea spot and heard about the afternoon tea at Grand America. We picked up my grandson on his early day and headed down. We loved it! Everyone treated my little grandson very special, even made him some special sandwiches! He has also talked about how much fun it was! We will be back!"

I didn't love the finger
sandwiches or the pastries, they were a little strange. My hot chocolate was divine. Our waiter was pretty slow... I feel like we waited quite a bit. He was so so nice but I wonder if we weren't top priority because we were a smaller group and he has some large ones to take care. We felt sort of forgotten some of the time. It was still fun and very beautiful. I might not go back just because the food isn't really my preference."

My afternoon tea at the Grand
America Hotel was fantastic! My friends and I were seated in a lovely area filled with live harp music; we began our dining with strawberries and creme chantilly - fabulous! The scone course would easily rival any found in Britain, with authentic clotted cream and homemade lemon curd. The finger sandwiches were delicious, especially the locally-sourced Beehive cheese sandwich and the cucumber circlet. The tea pastries were heavenly, from the French "gumdrops" to the raspberry-pistachio confection to the madeleine and the chocolate with gold leaf! Blair, our server, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the teas and the delectable goodies served in each of the courses! A must-do in SLC."

My grand daughter turned 4 and has
loved having tea parties since she was too. The Grand America made this very special for her. The linens and china were set beautifully on the table. Thank you for making her day extermely specia."

Afternoon Tea was a second time
adventure! The first time was horrible, the service inadequate, the staff wouldn't even allow us a second type of tea! This time the experience was wonderful, service fantastic, we tried 3 different types of tea and the staff didn't blink an eye. We had reservations but were given a table close to the front hallway of hotel, even though there was a table facing the courtyard....we asked ....but were redirected, nicely."

When we started going to tea at
the Grand it was almost magical. The ambiance was just right, the food was generous and delicious, and the service was above par. But things started to change. The portions got smaller, the dessert went from out of this world (fresh strawberries and cream and your choice of a slice of cake or 3 small pastries) to the same old blah things (too sweet french gumdrops, dried out french biscuit and 3 or so of the same flavorless pastries). They've brought in a harpist and pianist. Both play beautifully but they play so loud that you almost have to shout to hear yourself or your guest speak. When my group goes we always have to request to be as far away from the music as possible. It's very pricey for what you get!"

Amazing. What a fun afternoon
activity for women of all ages. The service was impeccable and there was more than enough food and choices offered. I will definitely be going back."

We had a great time. The
sandwiches were very good as were the desserts. Too much dessert for me and my sister-I don't think this would be a problem for most people!"

This was my first experience with
the Grand America. When I lived in Philadelphia, I made afternoon tea a regular treat for myself, and was delighted when I discovered the Grand America offered Tea. This visit was the first time my daughter had experienced such an event, and had expressed her desire to have elegant tea for a while. She was just as pleased as I was, and we plan to return often. The ambiance was a wonderful mix of tea participants and lunching guests. Very nice. The harp music was a great touch."

Great experience for my daughter's
birthday. The service was exceptional and made my daughter feel very special. The food was delicious. We will definitely go back."

Brought my daughter for the first
time and a friend and her 2 daughters for their first visit thinking it was going to be as delightful as my first visit, I was wrong! The waitress was rude and anything but accommodating. Anything "extra" you ask for, you will be charged extra, even if you attempt to substitute. They didn't make the girls feels special at all, they even got all dressed up and brought their American Girl dolls thinking it was going to be a fun tea experience. The only thing the 4 little girls wanted to do was leave and eat some "good food" as they put it. The sandwiches were stale tasting, and the dessert tray was limited! For the $$, I highly recommend going elsewhere."

I took my three daughters for tea
for 16th birthday. It was so much fun! Acknowledged birthday with a song on piano and a rose! So sweet and my daughter was thrilled! I would definitely go back!"

I took my out of town guest to The
Grand America's Afternoon Tea. We were celebrating her birthday and it was perfect. Our reserved table was ready for us when we arrived. (we were right next to the Harp which was delightful! Brilliant little 16 year harpist) Our server as attentive and knowledgeable and took note of my birthday comment. We chose our tea from their new list and were facinated as our Tea Flower centerpiece opened before our eyes. The finger sandwiches were delicious, but the scones with clotted cream and lemon curd were heavenly! We were not rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and the elegant surroundings. Even though the portions seem small, we were full by the time dessert was served in a 3 tiered tray!"

We took my daughter for afternoon
tea for her 10th birthday. It was a fun and memorable experience that she will never forget. The food served for afternoon tea consists of allot of sweets, it would be nice if there were more of a lunch offering, besides that it was amazing. The teas and hot chocolates were wonderful and so was the service. At the end of tea they brought my daughter a rose for her birthday which made the experience all the more magical for her. We will defiantly go again."

I have done this afternoon tea w/
two of my granddaughters so far. It is a special outing w/ Grandma when they turn 8. Each time my little girl had a great and memorable time w/ the tea. It helps them to see how gracious and lovely life can be and how special they are to me. The waitress this time was so cute w/ Zoie. She really made a big deal out of things for her. She even brought her a rose at the end. I highly recommend Grand America and their afternoon tea to anyone wanting an elegant & memorable occasion."

As usual, this was a great
experience. We had done this before and my granddaughter asked if we could do it again, she enjoyed the last time so much. Our server, Blair, was outstanding. He checked on us regularly without hovering and explained everything well. He also took our picture for us. The food was great and there was plenty of it."

We went with my Mpther, Sister and
Nephew and had a most enjoyable time. The ambience at the Grand America is wonderful and we were treated by their staff accordingly. Two little girls at a nearby table celebrating their birthdays were treated to flowers and my nephew was given an assortment of sandwiches more fitting a childs taste buds. A lovely selection of finger sandwiches were enjoyed by all and the tray of mini cakes and scones were especially nice."
