A word from Afternoon Tea at The Biltmore
One of the few remaining Miami locales offering traditional English afternoon tea, the Biltmore is arguably the most elegant venue, with its soaring vaulted ceiling, magnificent lobby and majestically mantled fireplace. The refreshing repast is served daily and is complemented with and elegant harp weekdays and music of an accomplished classical guitarist on the weekends. During the holiday season guests can expect themed pastries.Reservations are recommended.Continued

  • "Afternoon Tea is one of the last of the great civilized pleasures around these days and partaking of it at the Biltmore is simply exceptional. The hotel building itself has to be one of the most beautiful anywhere and Afternoon Tea is the perfect way to fully enjoy its ambiance. The tea selection is very well put together and served loose brewed in the proper pots with the offer of fresh hot water to keep your choice at the right temperature and strength. The food is beautifully presented on a tiered stand and as delicious as it was beautiful. The staff was attentive and accommodating and the light music a welcome addition. All the way around an afternoon well spent! Don't miss touring the grounds of the hotel while you are there."

  • "Part of the lobby of the BIltmore Hotel is allocated for the afternoon tea. There are four awkwardly placed tables in the middle of a busy lobby reserved for tea. It seems like an experiment of some sort because there is not a legitimate place really for the tea at this hotel. There is a guitarist but it is just really very awkward and doesn't feel comfortable. The food is below par and the tea is nothing extraordinary. Not worth it at all. If want to go enjoy afternoon tea, this is not the place for it. I have tried many places for afternoon tea and this is by far the worst and most strangely set up operation."

  • "The afternoon tea at The Biltmore Hotel was very sweet. Too sweet in fact. There tea food needed a better balance of savory food and sweet foods. Most everything was sweet, too sweet. All choices were delicous but not enough balance."

  • "The Biltmore is a beautiful hotel. Afternoon Tea is served in the Lobby which is a very nice setting. This particular day it was busier than when I have been in the past. It is a perfect afternoon ladies get together. There was a harpist playing lovely music. The traditional tea and food are wonderful. My only complaint is the price. One year ago it was around $18, two weeks ago it was $25 and now it is $30. I would agree with the price increase if there was some upgrade or change, but the food was exactly the same."

  • "I thought the service was slow and the tea was limited in quantity. We were not approached for more of anything including warming our teas. It was understaffed. The harpist was delightful and very romantic. It was our special anniversary and my husband is a tea lover."

  • "We went here expecting an elegant afternoon tea but were disappointed. No one was really there to greet. The area was off the lobby. While we were there, several groups were checking in/out and it seemed to ruin a peaceful and relaxing time. The food was tasty and beautifully presented. There was several varieties of teas unfortunately our waitress didn't try to describe any and we were for the most part left on our own. The presentation of the tea was lovely. Service was spotty. I guess I expect more when an 18% tip is automatically added on. They also had a man playing guitar and it made the cost somewhat justifiable. At $25 p/p not including tax and tip I was really disappointed and won't do it again."

  • "Food was mediocre. Finger sandwiches were poorly made with hardly anything in them and they had no flavor. I've been to other teas where you could actually taste what was in the sandwiches. Also, more savory items were needed. The majority of selections were sweets with only 3 tiny finger sandwiches per person. Our waiter did not come around to ask us if we would like more tea...we had to wave him down after waiting a long while. Overall, we were glad we didn't pay more for this tea...unfortunately, it wasn't even worth the actual cost. One nice aspect, though, was the harpist playing throughout. I would not recommend this tea to anyone. Also, if it were a true high tea, the waiters would have been wearing white gloves."

  • "My daughter was just turning 16 so I surprised her with afternoon tea at the Biltmore. It was a wonderful afternoon escape. We felt transported to a more serene place and time and spent a very relaxing afternoon talking, sipping tea and eating tiny sandwiches, and sweets while treated to acoustical guitar. This is our new Mother - Daughter tradition!"

  • "There was a wide selection of teas available to choose from. The patries and sandwiches were all excellent. The serve was attentive but did not know the tea characteristics. This is a good spot to go to for a special event with a group of friends or for a romantic afternoon event"

  • "I felt I was back in the 1920's enjoying a cup or two of tea with a good friend. Both my friend and I had such a lovely time at the Biltmore's Afternoon Tea...I will definitely go back. Something different to do in the Gables. The service was very nice and the tea treats were wonderful!!"

  • "I love going to the Biltmore for tea. It is such a beautiful and historic building. They have a live harpist. She plays beautifully And Ligia is very knowledgeable about all the teas. It's a great experience!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our Coral Gables Biltmore afternoon tea. Beautiful harp music wafted up through the architecturally significant grand lobby. The tea cart provided plenty of options for different tea flavors and tisanes. The food included delectable tea sandwiches, scones, and little sweets. We had a big breakfast, no lunch, and this 2 PM tea happily filled us up."
