Since it is the fruits and flowers anniversary we thought having high tea would be a fitting way to celebrate. It certainly was! The decor was ornate and lavish. The waitstaff were extremely courteous and friendly. The tea, sandwiches and desserts were divine. We even received complimentary champagne and additional sweets in honor of our anniversary (including a chocolate disc with the words "Happy Anniversary" printed in gold). To top it off, there was a violinist playing romantic classical music while everyone dined. What a wonderful treat! The only drawback was that the room felt stuffy and a bit too hot. Sandwiches very good although not 'finger' length but small squares - doesn't matter because they were very good. Only comment is that I would have preferred at least one scone with currents as in a traditional English Tea. Liked the cherry scones but not the gingerbread ones. Wonderful ambience and musical accompaniment - single violinist and another time harpist.
