We were given a gift certificate
and decided to have dinner. Some of the food was good, some not. I ordered french onion soup (good except too sweet) and a spinach salad with chicken. The server warned me that when chicken is ordered on a salad, they serve a half-chicken on the side. At first I turned it down as I was picturing a grilled chicken breast on top, but realized I would have zero protein so I did order it. It was okay but overdone, salty and very small. The spinach salad was DRENCHED in dressing. My husband ordered a beet salad and cioppino - he said both were delicious and they were generous with the mussels. In fairness, the server did tell us that the menu was just one week old so maybe they will work on it."

The chef knows how to mix and
compliment flavors. Very good dinner. Will definitely be going back. You get what you pay for and then some."

It took 30 minutes to get our
first drink. We had to ask for bread, everything was slow! Food was great!"

A bit removed from the Traverse
City life. In large resort in tall building with view. Food was good."

We took a group of ten people to
brunch. The food was awesome! All ten of us in the group were raving about the food quality and selection. The service was equally impressive."
Dined on 3/23/2014
The food was great but our bill
was $99.21 and I left a 20% tip so total was 119.21 but after getting my credit card statement online the total was $129.21 someone got me for $10.00. Not real happy about that at all."

Our server was excellent, friendly
and attentive. We enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu very much. The food was terrific."

We visited Aerie because a work
colleague was staying at the Resort and we were pleasantly surprised by the Restaurant Week menu and the regular menu. Every item we tried was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The next day one of the doctors said to me "that was great, we have to go back!" The pasta was done perfectly. The beignets were imaginative and delicious! The bartender was entertaining! A great night out!"

This was our 3rd time at Aerie. It
was terrible.15min before the waiter took our drink order, another 15 min before he apologized for not having our drinks.5 min later the manager brought the drinks. Prosecco was flat. The manager returned with another one, claiming that the lemon peel had made the drink flat. That was not the case.Greek salad was bland, the Blacked Whitefish tasteless."Sauce Sharon" on white fish, the waiter didn't know what it was.Flavorless.Fried chicken with waffles, some flavor, needed some kind of syrup/gravy. Even for $25pp & $55/4 drinks, not worth the money.Waiter was nice, but clueless,it seemed he had just been hired for the night,no training,no knowledge. With all our great restaurants, there is No reason go to Aerie."

Took my mother there for her
birthday and it was fabulous, she said it would be a birthday that she would talk about for a long time. The service was excellent, the food was excellent there is not a single bad comment I could make. My husband I came there last year and we were pleasantly surprised. I would recommend this dining experience to everyone;"

I tend to characterize myself as a
"foodie." I get excited when I have the opportunity to try new foods and new restaurants, and this place exceeded every expectation I had. Prior to arriving I had reviewed the menu and thought everything sounded amazing, but I had no idea just HOW amazing it would be! Every single item ordered just tasted better and better! The staff was very knowledgeable and very pleasant when answering any questions asked. It was an absolutely amazing experience and my significant other and I can not wait to go back!! I usually am not one to ramble on about something unless it is worth it, and trust me, it is worth every bit of praise!"

We make a trip to Aerie at least
once a year, and are never disappointed. The food is always great, and the views are superb. We will be coming back for many years to come."

Great food, went there for a
special occasion with my girlfriend. Was happy with everything until I got my back statement seeing they charged me extra money for tip or something. I tipped 18%,( the server wasn't that great) and I got charged an additional 8 dollars. Please be advised because they do not advise you that they are going to add to their own tip."

Aerie has good food, great
service, a nice atmosphere and is perfect for a special dinner for two. A little pricey to make this a frequent hot spot (dinner for two is typically $150-$200) and better for special occasions or a romantic night out. My only complaint would be that depending on the meal ordered the portion size can be somewhat small especially when you consider the price."

We made reservations for
Christmas, as our extended family was elsewhere this year. The food was very good the service was very attentive. The view here is always a plus, but our reservation was for after dark this time. We will likely come again."

Most of the other restaurants
closed in TC for Christmas Eve. Aerie took th chance and stayed open later than most. It really paid off because the staff made you feel welcome and at home. Just he kind of place you want to be at when several hundred miles away on a holiday. Keep up the good work anf hop to see you soon."

We celebrated Christmas and our
50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren on Dec. 23. It was a perfect evening....the food, waitstaff, ambiance all 5 star! We highly recommend Aerie for an outstanding dining experience."
Dined on 12/23/2013
good service and food, just a
little pricey for the serving sizes."
Dined on 12/20/2013
Our brunch was 2 weeks before
Christmas. We were surprised and disappointed at the complete lack of holiday decor. The brunch itself was presented nicely but taste wise was nothing special."
Dined on 12/15/2013
The atmosphere was upscale, but
the ambiance was comfortable. Food was unique and prepared well. Sea bass was wonderful!"
Dined on 12/6/2013
My husband and I were beyond
disappointed with our steaks. With spending $170 we expected steaks cooked to perfection. I ordered the fillet mignon even though I was a little apprehensive about the idea of espresso crusted. But it came with what looked like a days worth of coffee grounds on it. I trimmed it off, but my steak was drowning in a horrible sauce. There was no avoiding the sauce as it was literally slopping everywhere. I expect with a high scale restaurant (and high scale prices) to add garnishes and sauces in moderation. There really is no reason to drown a steak in sauce unless you are getting a sizzler at a low end restaurant. My husband ordered the cowboy ribeye. He was also very disappointed with the cut and prepared."

Delicious food with impressive
presentation. Only a couple of staff members were interested in being hospitable."
Dined on 12/1/2013
It was a very slow night there so
I cannot tell how the service and ambience would be affected by a full house. For those of us North of the TC area, it is a nice option for a good meal. Our waiter was excellent but obviously new to that restaurant and really did not know the menu well at all. A number of items were surprisingly pricey (for N. Mich). For example, the sea bass was over $40! Many of the entrees were in the mid-$30's. This makes Aerie one of the pricier venues in the area. That price scale may work for people who are staying at the hotel and do not want to leave the campus; but as a local, I would tend to save this for special occasions rather than put it on our regular rotation."

As frequent diners at Aerie,
thoroughly enjoyed our holiday buffet this year. Delicious entrees, tasty smoked salmon presentation, and wonderful pastries! One of the best years, ever!"

Dined on 11/28/2013
we have dined at Aerie multiple
times, including Easter Brunch and have always had a wonderful meal. the only suggestion I would have to the management is the service could be a little more friendly. this has been the case on a few visits with different servers..."

Attended brunch and was a bit
underwhelmed with choices. Omelet station was quite busy and other choices were minimal as to variety of breakfast/brunch food. Lovely experience of dining as to service and atmosphere."

We had a lovely dining experience
for a special occasion. The food and service was excellent."
Dined on 11/9/2013
I ordered the short rib appetizer
which was good, not exceptional. The fillet was very pricy and the expectation was high but the meal failed to deliver. The reduction sauce was tasty, the fillet was very bland. My wife ordered chicken which was also just ok. We have had better meals there in the past."

Most awesome dinner we ever had,
fantastic waitress, beautiful view"
Dined on 10/26/2013
Very romantic setting. This was
the second time my wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. The food is amazing. I still remember the flavor of the miso skirt steak I had four years ago, and the buffalo ribeye was cooked to perfection. The menu changes on a regular basis, but from what I've experienced, you can't go wrong with anything from the menu. Make your reservations for earlier on an autumn evening so you can see the beautiful fall colors for miles from your vantage point at the top of the tower at the Grand Traverse Resort. Highly recommended."

All meal courses were excellent,
fresh and flavorful. Portion sizes were appropriate. Appetizers seemed small at first, but ended up being the perfect size. Entrees were larger portions than expected for a restaurant of this caliber. We had the Sea Bass and Pork Tenderloin which were both prepared excellently, with just enough garnish and seasoning to compliment the natural flavors of the meat. Martini's from the bar (Spiced Pear and Ginger Sake) were also excellent. Service was top-notch, our server, Lisa, was friendly, outgoing and quite knowledgeable about the menu without being imposing. The attentiveness of the staff was perfectly timed, we didn't feel ignored or smothered. Prices were appropriate and expected."

Standard fare in a pleasant
setting, 16th glassed in floor overlooking the well manicured golf course. There is an omelet bar and plenty of pastries, some fruit, desserts and a tasty mimosa."

My wife and I were finally able to
get away for a weekend without our 11 month old. We wanted to take in as much of Traverse City as possible and our experience at Aerie did just that. We were put in a booth across the aisle from the exterior windows. The booth was raised so we could see all of the beautiful fall colors in the landscape reaching for miles. The service was outstanding, Our server, whom I can't remember her name, suggested spots for us to pose for a picture after being asked to take one for us. She was very good at keeping the table clear and describing/helping with the menu. I intend to go back to the Aerie Sunday brunch anytime I am able in future, and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone!"

Great views, service and,
especially wonderful food which was also presented very well. I would highly recommend the Sea Bass entree."

Good food, decently priced
martinis. Enjoyed the watermelon cherry gazpacho and the scallops. Great view and wide selection of wines for everyone."
