There were 7 of us which is a challenge at most restaurants. The staff at Adour was attentive and responsive. The pacing of the meal was excellent. The food incredible and the desserts out of this world. They didn't have 2 bottles of the wine that we selected (which was a must with 7) and so a wine was suggested to us - it was beyond our expectations. Really it was a fabulous dinner with outstanding staff. I'd go back tomorrow if I lived in NYC! Bravo.

It is very sad that such a wonderful restaurant is closing, and that we dined there on its last evening. The room is exquisite, one of the most beautiful in NYC. The food is also exquisite, delicious and elegant. The level of service is what you would in a fine restaurant. The only thing which distracted from our otherwisw superb dinner, was the piped in music. Too loud, inappropriate and totally unnecessary.

I was there their last night open and my it was bittersweet! Adour has been my favorite French restaurant in NYC for a few years now and I was just devastated to learn it was closing. Thank goodness I found out the Monday before it shut its doors and was able to get a reservation. We had the Chef Tasting w/ Wine Pairing - about $500 total and it was worth every penny. My favorite maitre d was fortunate enough to find a spot at the upscale Greek restaurant a few blocks over and he too was part of what made Adour so special. I have many, many great memories dining here and I thank all those involved in making each visit memorable and so satisfying!

The service was impeccable, right from welcome to adieu. Marcos served us very well, making helpful recommendations as we were uncertain what to order. The sommelier was extremely helpful in assisting in the selection of wine. He suggested a bottle that was great value for money and fantastic in terms of taste. The food was outstanding and thoughtfully spaced so we were not rushed, but were able to savor the great taste and sophisticated complexity of the flavors.

I have had some memorable culinary experiences at Alain Ducasse's Adour. The chef and his staff produce outstanding French cuisine using superb ingredients. I am very sad that the restaurant will be closing soon. I would like to say a special thank you to Maitre d' Marcos, a gentleman and a real food connoisseur who knows how to make diners feel very special. I am fortunate to live in London where i can enjoy Alain Ducasse's cuisine at the Dorchester.

Whilst we enjoyed our dinner we didn't think it lived up to the reputation of Alain Ducasse. The waiters were not particularly refined - water splashing forth when water glasses were refilled. The meal took quite a long time which was very pleasant- it was very enjoyable not being rushed through the meal as we were in some restaurants for faster table turnover. The food itself was nice but not innovative or particularly special. The atmosphere was lovely, quiet and sophisticated with beautiful elegant furnishings. All in all we have mixed feelings about our evening at Adour.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We decided to do the tasting menu with the wine pairings. I was hesitant to do the tasting menu at first because I was eager to try their foie gras but it was not on the tasting menu. The server was so accommodating and without my asking she replaced one of the courses for the foie gras. I don't think this is common but very much appreciated. (The best foie gras I've had in NYC!) Absolutely Phenomenal!! The wine pairings were perfectly selected to the course. The soufflé was so also the best I've had. We came in thinking we would indulge here this once but we are definitely coming back. Delicious food, great service and perfect ambiance.

Service was not very attentive for the price paid and a restaurant of this style, but food was good and tasting menu was nice if you are hungry. I would not say that this is the best French restaurant of NY however. In the same price category, there are others which are better in service and in food... If you know of wines and choose the wines yourself, you should have less bad surprises at the end...

Not worth the money. We frequent high end restaurants all over the world. We were at Daniel the night before and it blew this right out of the water. Not enjoyable at all for the price you pay. The server delivered out plates at separate times because he was alone. The best part was the cheese plate. Really surprised because it was highly recommended. We won't return.

Classical French food, expertly prepared. However, there was nothing challenging or especially unique about the meal that justifies the expense. When I dine at restaurants like this, I expect to be served a meal that I would not be able to prepare myself in a million years. I wouldn't say this was the case here. Very attentive service, and nice ambience. I would happily go again because I love French food, but only if the company was picking up the tab.

The last time I was here, everything was excellent, with the exception of the server who had a wicked cold and was coughing all over the place. This time, everyone was healthy, but there was this annoying chatter coming out of the service station (servers laughing, joking, shooting the breeze) that escalated as the night went on. It was disruptive, and I generally have a high tolerance for that type of thing. You guys are food service professionals serving a world class product and need to behave as such. When the kitchen works so hard to get it right, don't blow it by acting like idiots in and around the dining room. I'd be a bit enraged if I were the chef reading this.

We had a beautiful evening here. The atmosphere felt refined without being stuffy. We enjoyed our food and wine and had an overall lovely time. The salmon appetizer was a highlight as was the raspberry and verbena dessert. The sweetbreads were delicious. The grouper seemed a tiny bit overcooked but was still tasty. Lamb chops were satisfying. The sommelier paired the wine perfectly for our main course, although we wished he had taken note of our price range comfort zone with the first glasses of wine we chose ourselves. We had mild sticker shock with the wine bill at the end.

We are veggies and I made the reservation to try the veggies tasting menu. Veggies looking for a special occasion restaurant with food and wine to match will not be disappointed. The decor was special but not over the top and we were moved to a fantastic corner booth - our original seat beside a woman talking loudly about very personal issues was not what I was paying for. That can happen anywhere - it was a special meal for my husband's birthday and I was just very glad the restaurant found us a better table.

Overall a very nice restaurant for a special occasion, formal date or a business dinner (why we were there) but it falls a little short compared to similarly priced, top tier competition. We had a problem with the beef dishes (3 of 7 entrees were overcooked) that was resolved gracefully but unfortunately interrupted the rhythm of the meal and detracted from the experience. On the plus side, the wine list is excellent and the tenderloin was delicious (on the second go-round). The atmosphere/decor in the main dining room is also quite elegant and very "New York" (for out-of-town guests). We were not impressed with the deserts (souffle was bland), which is too bad because I had heard they were very good (maybe they just had an off night?).

We had a superb time at Adour. It was one of the most pleasant experiences we'd had at a fine cuisine restaurant in the City. The decor and ambiance were classy, and lovely. The food was tasty, original. The portions were not overly generous, but they weren't overly small either. The best part of the evening was our waiter. He was very knowledgeable, but also friendly. He told us about the history of the restaurant and its food. He helped us choose the right pairing of food, which worked perfectly. He made the evening very special for my husband and I (we went there to celebrate my husband's birthday). I wish I remembered his name to mention it here.
