  • "This was our second visit to the restaurant. Service was attentive and pleasant. We had a good view of a large screen TV (it being March Madness season, this was a criterion--there are several TVs and almost every table has a view). We ordered guacamole and two appetizers, which was plenty for the two of us for dinner, with drinks. The food was good, and definitely not "ordinary" Mexican-American items. But the real highlight was the table-made guacamole, which was heavenly. I'm sure we'll return."

  • "I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant since we moved downtown one year ago. When the Living Social deal came through on it I thought it would be the perfect reason to try. We sat at our table without drinks or ordering for appoximately 10 minutes before finally, the hostess asked us what we wanted because no one else had. The waiters and waitresses all seemed annoyed and none of them had a smile on their face. The food was average. There are better mexican restaurants in the area. I will not be returning."

  • "The food was delicious here and overall my group enjoyed our experience a lot. However, a member of my group is extremely hard of hearing and when I made the reservation I asked for booth or quiet seating and was told that would be possible. When we arrived, we were seated in the middle of the busiest part of the main room. When we asked to move, we were told all the other seats were taken. I understand the restaurant is busy and good for them, but I would have gone elsewhere if they hadn't told me specifically I could have quieter seating. The member of our group wasn't able to participate in the conversations and since it was a special occasion, this was very disappointing. However, the food and service were really wonderful."

  • "First time at Adobe. Took server 10 min to show up after being sat to get drink order. This is a wed night so not busy at all. Order app which arrives but still no drinks. App Luke warm-flavor ok. Chips were very stale and salsa has almost no flavor. Server came up to take dinner order to which I replied "could we have our drinks first please" he seemed confused by this but eventually we got them. The food arrived again like warm. We both had enchiladas -mine beef, wife had seafood. Both were pretty good but being like warm took away from the overall flavor. Just not a good first impression at Adobe at all. Doubt we'd ever go back honestly."

  • "Love this place. I've been here about 5 times now and have yet to leave and not have had an awesome time. The ambience is great for a weekend dinner with a group or on a date. So upbeat and lively. The staff is great as well. The food is not the typical mainstream Mexican menu, but it is delicious! Very fresh take on upscale Mexican. Ps- their "Hotlips" cocktail is one of the best drinks in town."

  • "Made reservation for 8:15 through Open Table. Arrived 10 minutes early. Hostess indicated it would be a few minutes. Hostess was giving out pagers to people for tables. Was seated around 8:55. Made reservation with Open Table based on availability. If a restaurant is going to give out reservations, than they should honor those reservations in a reasonable time. This restaurant was giving out pagers to guests and seating guests with pagers prior to honoring their reservations. I feel this restaurant should be restricted from using Open Table as they cannot and do not honor their reservations in a timely manner. This was a very bad experience, and would not recommend this restaurant based on their poor reservation policies."

  • "My family and I made reservation at Adobo Grill about 5-6 days in advances, but it made NO difference once we got there. I did receive a call from them confirming my reservation about two days before the actual date, which I thought was very professional, but how things were handled on site, was not done well. With that being said, this was our ONLY issue with this restaurant. Food and service (once seated) was good!"

  • "I like this restaurant; I've been here many times. But this visit failed to impress. Yes, the margaritas and guacamole were great. They're always great. But this visit (a Tuesday night) seemed less together. Service was OK (though the people filling water and clearing plates were on the ball) and food was OK. Our biggest gripe: The cevichazo (3-ceviche appetizer, $18.99) was small. We ordered the ahi tuna, classic, and salmon, expecting we'd get three individual dishes as typically served. They came on a plate with 4 3" indentations, the fourth for crackers, tortilla chips, and banana chips. The salmon with chipotle mayo and pineapple pico came with 2 small slices of salmon; the rest of the indentation was filled with 3 slices of jicama."

  • "I am 57 years old, and to date, this is the best Mexican restaurant that I've ever visited. What makes Adobo the best is this. They do everything well. From the décor, the ambiance, the food and drink, service, etc., etc., etc.. The food was very tasty, however, the guacamole wins "hands down". I never had better. It was a very nice experience for us, and when finished with our meal, we lingered for another 30 minutes. We didn't have any dessert, but we didn't have any room either. The entrees' were not large, but after the guac., chips & salsa, very sufficient. The prices are in line for the overall quality. I frequent the Broad Ripple area, but will certainly make the effort to return to Adobo. A Groupon doesn't hurt."

  • "Even thou we had reservations we still had to wait for 30 minutes- Parties larger than ours (2) were being seated before us. The front desk person said she was waiting for a table for 2 to open up. Finally were seated at a 4 person table. Our server was good but the food was terriable. I did not even eat mine. Overall we will not be back."

  • "Higher end Mexican, not the same menu you can find in a thousand other places. Mole, Pachuga, and other regional Mexican dishes are on the menu and are well done. The service was a little slower than I would have liked but the waiter was very nice. Was very busy at rush on a Fri so I am not disappointed. Excellent house margaritas done right and served like a martini like they are supposed to be."

  • "We visited on a Saturday night so it was busy but got seated right away as we had a reservation. The guacamole was very good and the Mango margaritas were amazing with real bits of mango fruit. I had the Monte Albán (Cilantro marinated skirt steak) and it was very good,. My husband had the chicken enchiladas and he indicated the were Good but not his favorite, It seemed like the service was a bit slow at times. This is a great place to go to hang out with friends but it's a bit noisy so not the best for a romantic dinner. I enjoyed seeing the unique menu items and would go back to try some of the other entrees."

  • "My husband and I have been here several times over the last year or so. We now have 19 month old twins who have usually accompanied us, and the staff is always very nice about us having our toddlers with us. We usually get one of the little rooms off the main dining area, which is nice. My usual favorite is the fish tacos, but they had a little too much heat for me last time, so I opted for the seafood enchiladas this time and they were excellent. Hubby got the Monte Alban, which he enjoyed, but we did notice that this dish used to be much larger (at the old 86th St. location). For the first time, the waiter said they didn't havemargaritas on the rocks, but we've ordered them like that before. He "checked" and it was ok. Strange-New staff?"

  • "My wife and I love eating here. The margaritas are the best we've ever had. The table side guacamole is also the best. If you don't like guacamole, try Adobo's, you'll change your tune. I personally love all of the tacos and my wife prefers the Monte Alban. If you have room, finish things off with the Tres Leches dessert. We don't get downtown too often, but we love eating at Adobo Grill."

  • "Very slow service Saturday evening for our reservation at 7:45 p.m. We sat at our table for ten minutes with no water, chips, salsa or acknowledgement by a waiter. I then asked at the hostess stand whether perhaps no waiter knew he was assigned our table. Hostess took our order, but then margarita and salads did not arrive until we asked about them again when our main course was delivered. Waiter never apologized for ignoring our table. Our bill was also very slow in arriving. Manager did comp our gaucamole. In the past, most of the time we have had good service and we have always had good food."

  • "I have absolutely no idea why I thought this, but after hearing some friends talk enthusiastically about Adobo being their favorite Mexican restaurant in town, I had a much less approachable vision of Adobo in my head. Stay thirsty, friends: There's a life-size cardboard prop of The Most Interesting Man in the World by the bar and sofa-sized televisions in the place; you're fine to come as you are. The food was really good but I have to say that I am discovering I like my Mexican food down-and-dirty: A really flavorful hunk something wrapped in a tortilla and served with a shovel-sized scoop each of beans and rice. Adobo isn't that meal, but it's GOOD. Tableside guac is for 2, not 4, and you want to ask for more tortillas with your dinner."

  • "My fiance and I came all the way from Fort Wayne to eat here. We came the day before Valentine's day to beat the rush. I had called ahead and requested a private table and asked if I could have flowers delivered. I spoke with the manager and he assured me that I would be taken care of. He did NOT disappoint... He personally showed us to our (private) table and made sure everything was perfect. Our server was also excellent! We never wanted or waited for anything. We received some of the best service we've ever had at any restaurant. To top it all off the food was amazing. My fiance is Mexican and her family makes some of the best homemade Mexican food and even she was thoroughly impressed. I would definitely recommend visiting Adobo Grill!"

  • "I had made a reservation with the request that our party's first time be memorable. It certainly was. The evening wasn't perfect but I'll attribute a lot of the snags to poor choices and inexperience. Parking was difficult to find. Once there we received a somewhat distracted welcome and a lukewarm escort to our table. The table was well positioned but under two very distracting strobe lights that took a bit of getting used to. The margaritas, guacamole, enchiladas and deserts were phenomenal the duck tacos were not. There seems to be a very common complaint of dryness. I enjoyed my time enough to look forward to giving Adobo grill a second and third chance to impress me with their entrees."

  • "My group did the devour downtown menu. I really liked the appetizer selections and the free margarita with our meal. However, I wasn't to fond of the selections for the entree and desserts. The pork and steak dishes were pathetic! They were a few very small pieces of meat with rice and beans. The enchiladas( which I had) were pretty good. The chicken enchiladas someone else had also looked good. Overall, just very dissapointed with the meat dishes! I felt bad for those who had gotten either of those two as their entrees. As far as the dessert, the pinapple cake with a VERY small portiaton of ice cream was sub par and the churros were hard and cold! I have been to adobo before and in my opinion, this didn't measure up to my expectations."

  • "We were underwhelmed for what we spent on Friday...our waiter Pedro could not have been nicer and friendlier, but other staff members who took care of us were borderline rude. The food was messed up a couple of times, some plates cold and my flat-iron steak entree very chewy...drinks were fine and our table in the alcove was very cozy and great for conversation. The manager's ear piece fell into one of the plates while delivering entrees (chicken w/cream salsa)and it was still served...Billing was also messed up as we were charged for the guacamole which was part of the DD menu. ( this was corrected when pointed out) I would come back and sit at the bar for drinks and apps but probably in no rush with so many other downtown choices"

  • "I went here for dinner with a friend for Devour Downtown. I've eaten here several times before and as usual, was not disappointed. The deal came with lots of great options (appetizer, entree, dessert) and the food was delicious. Service was prompt and the server visited our table several times to make sure we didn't need anything. Our plates were cleared quickly and each course came out within minutes. Definitely recommend Adobo for dinner, margaritas, birthdays, any occasion really."

  • "Adobo Grill is a favortie, so we try somewhere new during Devour Downtown, and expect crowds on a Saturday night. We gave in to our food craving, and the staff EXCELLED at handling a slammed Saturday night. They turned what could have been a major traffic jam into a quality experience in a high energy setting. Several tables around us were presenting challenges: large groups wanting specialty drinks, people not making up their minds, people forgetting what they ordered or not listening when food arrived, etc. Our service for our quiet table of 2 was fantastic; we were not abandoned in the shuffle, nor treated like second class citizens for ordering the "discount deal". Staff was efficient, charming, and the food, as always, was fantastic!"
