The service was definitely five stars...our server was knowledgeable, thoughtful and provided great suggestions. The dinner was delicious and the portions were generous. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Since I eat a semi-vegetarian diet (including fish), the options were limited. My husband chose the tortilla-crusted tilapia which was very flavorful, while I chose the "salmon special". My dish was "fine", but lacked spice or "wow factor". Our rating criteria is, "Would we crave the food and want to go back?" Very comfortable, relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Service was excellent and personable. Great wine offerings by the glass. All the food, from bread and butter, to salads, entrees and desserts, were wonderfully prepared and satisfying. We were celebrating my 18 year old son's birthday, and they brough him their fabulous chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce. I am first and foremost a foodie, while my husband's top reason to return to a restaurant would be ambiance, and we both loved Adelle's and look forward to returning.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AM4 Star Dining In WheatonCelebrating our third wedding anniversary was very special due to the lovely setting (quiet with a little music in the background, beautiful venue and tables placed where can 't hear others), fabulous good and attentive service. Everyone was warm and inviting and our server was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. Very fresh and tasty. There wasn't one complaint from any of us. The four of us could talk easily and hear each other. There was music but at an enjoyable level. I had the unbelievable root beer float for dessert (it wad my birthday after all) and they even brought it with a candle. The bill was fair for what we ate and drank. But it just occurred to me that what makes Adelle's outstanding is the reliability. Service, food, ambiance always there. Have been regular customers since the beginning and have never had a bad experience. I think that counts for a lot. There are a lot of nice restaurants to choose from. Every course was delicious, from soup to desserts. Chef John's risotto is the best I've ever tasted, each time I visit it's a different flavor combination. I had the Duck entrée, again, and was as good as I remembered. My friend had the filet, it was cooked to perfection and one of the best he ever had. The service was attentive and friendly, her name was Miley, (sp?) very friendly lady. I was there on Friday the 5th to listen to live music in the large bar/lounge area and to have some apps and wine. The placed was full and hopping! First time just to sit at the bar and from the regulars told me, Adelle's has become a hotspot for good music, martinis and wine lovers. The wine list is large and nice selection of wines and prices. When we left the bar area was filled with people enjoying live music. The food was excellent as was the service, but the portions for the price were very small. The size of the fresh cod was moderate which is understandable since it is very costly to serve fresh fish. Half the plate was covered with crispy waffled potato chips that were a bit greasy; then there was a small dollop of delicious coleslaw--that was it for $18. If the meal had included a vegetable side or a cup of soup, we would have been more satisfied.
The host graciously adjusted our bill after we voiced our concern. The service was very good and the food was excellent. My wife had the risotto, which was creamy and delicious. I had pork schnitzel with spaetzel and red cabbage. The schnitzel was one of the best I have ever had - not too thin and it was moist. Enjoyed a cherry cobbler for desert. All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable evening.
