A word from Adelino's Old World Kitchen
Adelino's Old World Kitchen was founded on the simple premise of supplying great food, drink, and service in an environment which fosters friendly conversation and interaction.

The menu features recipes from around the Mediterranean and is served either traditional tapas style or your choice of family style.

When young Adelino entered America through Ellis Island he held true to the belief that family comes first and friends are a part of the family.

In Adelino's eyes nothing was better than sharing a meal with friends and family with good home cooking, plenty of Vino to drink and spending all night laughing and conversing.

We invite you into Adelino's kitchen to enjoy those same experiences old world style. We strive to provide the warm heart felt hospitality which truly makes you feel like one of the family.

Too many of the tapas are battered, deep fried, then smothered in strong sauce. Also, as many other reviews I've read mentioned the staff is annoying, trying to learn names and chit chat when they should be providing privacy and service.

A great variety of meats (fish, steaks, venison, rabbit, sausage). Waiter provided info and recommendations without unnecessary chit chat. Living in Indy we only eat out in Lafayette a few times a year, but we will be back to try other menu items. Best meal I've had in Lafayette.

I got the Buffalo ribeye steak. It had a good flavor but was like eating shoe leather. So muckhgrizzle that or add had to chew. The dressing on the Caesar salad was excellent. The loaf of garlic bread was tough. Couldn't cut it with a chain saw. The Portuguese cream chocolate martini was was probably the best part of the meal. $100 for 2 you would have thought the food would have top notch. Could have gotten better at a Texas Roadhouse.

Our latest evening at Adelino's Old World Kitchen was, of course, delightful. Our waitress was Kat, very helpful and friendly. As we're following a low carb diet, she helped us pick some good choices (Their Tapas menu really helps with special diets!) Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our dinner very much. We love Adelino's for their service, their food, and their friendliness. If you're looking for a place "where everybody knows your name", this is it! :)

A great experience yet again. Wait staff is consistent and have been there for a long while, so they know the menu and the wines. Explored some more of the tapas menu items. Zucchini chips - Favorite appetizer. Perfectly cooked. Sauce is the perfect compliment. Portabello - Good, but a little muddled. The flavor of the mushroom and the tomato slice is overwhelmed by the layer of cheese. If you want a mushroom appetizer, go for the sherry mushrooms. Chorizo potato cakes - Subtle flavors and tasty. Mousakka - Think more along the lines of a slab of lamb meatloaf. Large portion, and it will fill you up. Nice flavors. The restaurant is empty on weeknights, and deserves visits. Four tapas plates and three glasses of wine for $60 including tip.

Went with friends for the first time and had a very nice meal. There's tons to choose from on the menu. I did three tapas items - the best being the portabella caprese. The lamb dinner was unique and very tasty, and the prime rib our friend had was awesome. The only "ok" dish of the evening was the Sea Bass. Be sure to try their sangria, too. We'll be back.

Got to go to Adelino's for the first time with an old buddy. The yard of beer and a platter of handmade sausages (elk, buffalo, duck & rabbit) was the first course. Outstanding! Robert had the Venison Chops and garlic potatoes, he loved it. I had the Porterhouse steak with their homemdae steak sauce, delicious. A second yard of the house lager put a perfect end to an evening of reconnecting with an old friend. The service was great. Thanks Adelino's

Not having dined there before, I took a calculated risk selecting Adelino's for our intimate wedding anniversary dinner. I figured it would be something different and it turned out to be a wonderful dining experience. The menu is the most adventurous we've seen in the area, and we decided we have to go back to try the other entrees with friends. We've been talking about the tres leche for three days now!

Came to eat at our favorite place before the firework show. As usual the food was great. I had the 32oz Prime Rib and garlic smashed potatoes. My wife had the Sea Bass and grilled asparagus. We enjoyed the GENEROUS POUR special of 3 glasses of specially selected wines for only $10. Great service, great food, great wine and fireworks after. A perfect 4th of July with Adelino's.

  • Funny waitress but poor food

Our waitress was engaging and funny; however, the food was not good. My daughters chicken breast was so over cooked it was impossible to cut through. The roasted potatoes were completely charred. Our pleasant waitress attempted to make it right by getting us another chicken breast which came out dark on the outside but at least edible. The potatoes, however, came back just as crisp as the first time. Disappointing because the location and atmosphere was good.

  • Introduced my daughter to tapas
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 6/9/2014
Had a wonderful experience with my daughter, sampling a variety of tapas. Here is what we had, with my daughter's 1-10 ranking in parenthesis ... zucchini chips (10), calamari (4), meatballs (9), sausage croquettes (7) and baked goat cheese (10). I agreed with her rankings, but while very tasty, the baked goat cheese was a crock of marinara with very little goat cheese on top. More aptly should have been called baked marinara with a garnish of sprinkled goat cheese. A great place none-the-less, and they have recently expanded their menu to include full entrees including steak.

We have dined here a few times and have always had very good service, great food, and called it one of our favorite restaurants. Our last visit celebrating graduation was far from what we have encountered in the past. Our waiter was not like the other waiters from Adelino's of past. The tapas that we ordered was good tasting but didn't come with the cucumber relish that was stated on the menu, the rice dishes were so bland and dry that most was not eaten, the flatbread is not brought to the table but the oils and spices are still on the table, the house wine is not longer available even though there is a bottle on the table, dishes not cleared after we ate the meal and dessert. Will not return to what once was our favorite restaurant.

I've visited with my husband several times in the past 5 years. First few times, no issues. Good food and good wine. Last couple of visits have been a disaster. They lost our reservation for our group 2 visits ago. We ended up dining at another location. They lost some pretty big business from us that evening. This past visit, the waiter was nice, but annoyingly attentive if that makes sense. We also had to send a pizza back several times. The third time it came out, it was ice cold in the center, as if they had thrown a frozen pizza in for a few minutes just to appease us. As much as I love their tapas and wine selection, the service has been lackluster on our most recent visits - I'm not sure that I'll be back.

We've been to Adelino's several times, it's our favorite downtown Lafayette restaurant. They have great food, but they also have a wonderful staff who makes you feel like you're "home" the minute you enter the place! The second time we went there, several of the staff remembered us, greeted us and made us feel like we had walked into "Cheers" - remember? Where everybody knows your name? :) This time we decided to try the tapas menu - WOW do try it!! We loved it. It gives you the opportunity to try several items, some to share, some not. And our fantastic server, Matt, was very helpful in letting us know how large each item was (i.e. how sharable). My fav : goat cheese crostini - but all were great. Many thanks to the staff and Chef Rosa!!

We've enjoyed small group dinners at Adelino's in the past and most recently we hosted 15 family members at the restaurant to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Purdue's School of Engineering. The restaurant was packed and the staff was stretched to say the least. Our server was David and he was excellent - very knowledgeable and funny as well. We started off with pitchers of Sangria and ordered 8 items from the Tapas menu to share around the table, which was a big hit. This was followed by main dish entrees ( Rabbit with Figs & Cherries, Pepper Steak Chimichurii, BBQ Ribs to name a few) and there were many positive comments about the quality of the food as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. I highly recommend Adelino's!

too many excuses of why food did not come out in order or on time - the garlic bread (which was the FIRST thing we ordered) came out after the last entree. what were we supposed to eat our selection of cheeses with? my son's date ordered the lasagna - served 20 min after our entrees arrived with top burnt and covered up with marinara sauce - i know this because we waited to eat with her and i timed it. they were not busy - one 12 top and a two top in dining room - both prom so no bar drinks staff needs to be trained properly - he introduced himself and shook hands with everyone - gross!! i had to rewash my hands. a kitchen manager would be helpful to help watch the tickets and fire things on time - i am not interested in excuses.

We visited from out of town. I was looking forward to the restaurant; the menu looked interesting and the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a disappointment. My wife and I both ordered fish. My trout was okay, but did not taste fresh. My wife had to send her halibut back. It also did not taste fresh. She sent it back and got salmon instead which was pretty good. We had a new waitress who was nice enough, but brought our feed in shifts. I was done eating by the time my wife got her food. I was expecting more considering the price of the entrees. The restaurant has promise but needs more work on service and food freshness.

Adelino's Old World Kitchen is a favorite restaurant of ours. They recently changed their menu so of course we had to go and see what was new! Steve had the boar chops with garlic smashed potatoes and Susan had the Jumbo Shrimp wrapped with bacon also with garlic smash. Both entrees were spectacular. The boar, which we'd never had before, was perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. We got it with the Hunter's sauce. mmmm We'd get it again anytime! The shrimp were grilled on a skewer and cooked perfectly. We also had, as a starter, the GOAT CHEESE CROSTINI tapas plate - so good. Steve had his favorite Warsteiner Dunkle and Susan had the Portuguese Cream. Everything was wonderful, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Love the tapas style or entree choice. Food is excellent. The service is always very good. Adeline's does offer parties and weddings upstairs so sometimes it can get a little loud but not bothersome. Tons of wine to choose from. The bartender was out of blue cheese stuffed olives so he stuffed olives for my husbands martini with goat cheese and it tasted excellent! Thanks bartender! Our server was great, we never had to ask for anything. Thanks server! (I think his name was Matt).

We moved to Lafayette Indiana 2 years ago & have been trying different restaurants. Wish we had gotten to Adelino's sooner! Our server, Matt, was amazing. Even though relatively new to Adelino's, he answered all of our questions & anything he didn't know, he found the answer for quickly. He told us the history of the family as well (very interesting story!!) The menu is extensive covering both tapas and regular entrees. I had the lobster and shrimp fideo - large shrimp cooked perfectly and piping hot. Hubby had the Breast of Duckling cooked in an amazing sauce. Their garlic bread is delicious with hunks of baked garlic throughout. A wonderful experience and a delightful find. We plan to attend the cooking class offered as well :)

My husband and I drove through pouring snow to arrive a bit late for our reservations. We were shown to a lovely marble table set for numerous couples but we were the only ones there! Our waitress was excellent! Attentive, caring, capable, and on the spot with drink refills, asking if we were ok or if we needed anything, etc. The food was simply outstanding. Chef Rosa! Our highest compliments and thank you so much for the personal delivery of our dishes...steak and "bunny!" Other waiters, etc., made us feel at home and welcome. We even had a dessert, which at first looked too "skimpy" to share, but was in fact so sweet and rich, that the amount was JUST RIGHT! SWEET!

Our first experience at Adelino's was a wonderful one. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Our waiter and bartender were both extremely helpful. They seemed genuinely excited when discussing the menu and treated us in the friendliest way possible. It felt like we were among friends. The prime rib was excellent with a portion far larger than expected. We had a meat and a veggie rigatoni. Both were hearty portions and delicious. A house sangria was wonderful and potent. A classy restaurant we are sure to return to.
