Diner Reviews
  • "Good food an good service, especially starting with the Hostess and attention to getting us seated at the bar. We liked the menu and the side items. The peach ice cream was the best."

  • "Cool space. Reasonably priced menu & drinks. Meatballs were the highlight of the meal. Entrees were good, but not memorable. Unfortunately no parking options outside of valet, but I suppose that's the new norm in the gulch.... Our server Sam did a great job and was well informed & enthusiastic. Will probably return after the menu expands."

  • "The feel of this place is great! The restaurant is open and roomy which is a nice change from many of the new restaurants that are crowded with tables on top of each other. The service is great, everyone is friendly and helpful. The menu is interesting, plenty of vegetarian and fish options. The kale salad is stellar, and the crispy flounder was really good too. Definitely worth a try."

  • "Dined for the 1st time at Adele's Sat. eve. 7/26. The entire experience was FABULOUS!! To start, the service is some of the best we've ever experienced. Our waiter, Sam B. genuinely cared that we have a great dinner & was extremely helpful in explaining the menu & guiding our selections. KUDOS TO SAM B....one of the BEST SERVERS ever to wait on us!! And we eat out ALOT! All of the food is FRESH, TOP QUALITY and locally sourced which we especially enjoy. We had the bruschetta, okra, watermelon soup, kale salad, ribs, fresh grilled fish & ricotta cake. All of them were some of THE BEST we've had anywhere! Adele's is currently our favorite new Nashville restaurant. We will definitely return & request SAM B. as our server!"

  • "We are new to the area and we really loved the cool tire store conversion, food and overall scene. Very chic, we like to dine in NYC, so we love looking for different type restaurants. We will be back!"

  • "Everyone is talking about Adele's so I wanted to try it. The space is incredible - well laid out, great energy, light, incredible views. The service was warm and friendly - apart from the manager who had something up her nose - and the staff knew their menu. The watermelon gazpacho is out of this world but the rest of the meal was rather over-rated. I'd heard about the meatballs and the burger so we tried both and were not that impressed. The meatballs were just this side of warmed up and the burger you had to eat with a knife and fork and the bun was soggy. I might go back with friends for the atmosphere and the cucumber martini but I wouldn't want to go when that manager was there shooting everyone evils and I wouldn't go for the food"

  • "I went here about a week after it opened and it was superb - the food was great and the servers were obviously in training but service was excellent. I raved about it & went back about a month later with another group of friends and it was like a different restaurant. First, it was totally chaotic from the backed up valet service to the people standing around, drinking & hanging out near the door and the bar. And noise lever is LOUD! The service was a joke and unapologetic about it. The entrees were nothing special and different from my first visit. The chicken is just a plate of chicken - the menu says it comes with kale but that was really just a garnish. The Gnocchi was nothing like it was the first time. The place is not for foodies!"
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "There is no box to rate the noise level as absolutely horrible. It was impossible to carry on a conversation--not a place for any sort of business meeting. Such a shame given that the food was good. The trout was a great choice. Need to work out some kinks in the service. I will try back for late night but probably not otherwise."

  • "Incredible outdoor dining. Delish interesting food."

  • "My husband and I took both of our parents to Adele's over the weekend and were very pleased with the entire experience. We all got different entrees and each meal was more unique and delicious than the next! The entrees are composed of very simple ingredients, but have tons of flavor and well-portioned. We didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor patio, but look forward to coming back with our friends for cocktails!"

  • "Great food and service. Excellent drinks. It is a busy restaurant but the tables are well spaced and we were able to carry on a conversation. We sat across from the open kitchen and enjoyed watching the orchestration of plate preparation and delivery. We already have reservations to return. The coconut cake is outstanding!"
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "Enjoyed it. She loved her chicken. I got the burger and wished it were on a different bun but still enjoyed it. The service was excellent. We will be back."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "The cocktails were tasty before dinner. The beer selection is a littlle weak. Our group shared multiple apps, salads and entrees. We all left fat and happy! We had no room for dessert so maybe next time we will save some space."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "You must have the chicken. Yes, even if you don't feel like it. The mix of fresh herbs. The crispy skin. The moist meat. I should not hav to say more. but I will. The food is prepared in a wood burning oven, so you won't get the kind of flavor you'd find from a traditional oven. The menu is limited, there is repetition among the dishes. It didn't really bother us, but made it more of a challenge when ordering. We shared dishes so we got to try more, and that's the way to go. The portions are right-sized, the place has a nice vibe, the space is open and minimalist. Do not be deterred by the open less than desirable reservation slots. Grab any time you can get and enjoy the experience."

  • "All around excellent! We ate there on Saturday, and made another reservation for the following week."

  • "from the minute that you enter the restaurant the ambience is lovelyyou are great it immediately at the door by hostesses with smiles on their faces who are ready to seat you. If you're lucky you get to sit next to the bar where the open kitchen is bustling in front of you. The smell alone are enough to make you want to come back, and create a perfect environment for a romantic dinner or an evening out with friends. we started with the meatballs and polenta appetizer, it was out of this world. the polenta was so creamy it was a perfect contrast to the delicious meatballs. he ordered the beef tenderloin medium rare to succotash it was cooked to perfection. I ordered the JW chicken it was everything and then some!"

  • "Do they give an award for loudest restaurant in Nashville? If so, we have a winner. My table finally gave up on trying to talk to one another because all we were doing was shouting. Great service and good food however."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "I enjoyed everything about Adele's. Great, simple atmosphere. Wonderful service. And the food was divine! Who knew pizzette could be so mouth wateringl-y flavorful and fluffy, with just the right amount of crunch? The bruschette was a-amazing - the fresh heirloom tomatoes, purple basil and house-made ricotta tasted like something I've only tasted in Italy. The squash salad had just the perfect amount of light flavor. And the short ribs were crazy yummy."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "A bit disappointed that it did not amaze me. Meatball appetizer is tasty, strip steak flavorful, crispy trout too much like fried catfish, pizzette a little gooey in center. Loud room, the deck looks like fun. Coconut cake was outstanding, but get ice cream instead of lime sorbet. Worth a return for a second chance."

  • "Valet was a complete mess. I was with my elderly mom. The valet attendant pointed at my car and gave me my keys, while turning and extending his hand for a tip. The service inside the restaurant was great.. The quality of the food was great. But...the food was literally swimming in oil. 😳"

  • "We had dinner here to celebrate a birthday and all of us fell in love with the place. Great location and setting, in an old garage and even if you are inside it feels like you are outside. Everyone's meal was perfection . . . from start to finish. Our experience was as good as it gets . . . will definitely be going back often and I understand they will be serving brunch soon. Adele's is one not to be missed!"
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "The summer corn risotto is to die for. I dined her twice in one week because I couldn't stop thinking about it! Also a plus: they let me bring my own birthday cake and served it without charge!"
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "We loved our experience at Adele's. The meatballs were to die for. Will definitely be back."
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "My wife and I and another couple visited Adele's within it's opening month and no mistakes were seen by us. We each ordered a first course, and entree, and a dessert. Everything was great and worthy of a second visit. Our waitress was spectacular. The wine pairing suggestions were spot on. We will definitely be back soon.s"

  • " There were 3 of us - so we shared everything. Our order was delivered to us pronto.. The meatballs are tasty and the polenta is divine!! I could make that my entree. We tried the chopped salad which had some surprises - peas and fennel. Fresh and good. The JW chicken has every right to be a signature dish - it was the winner of the night!! Although, the sweet corn risotto was ridiculously good. The trout was tasty, but small...more of a small plate. Brownie ice cream sundae kept exploding with new flavors - homemade brickle/toffee, homemade marshmellows, old fashioned sticky - gooey brownie - WOW.... the only negative? music was too loud to have a quality chat. That may be the atmosphere desired - just know before going."

  • "Loved it! Great food; perfect cocktails and service was perfect and very timely."

  • "The food and service were outstanding. One of our party had special needs in the food dept. and the staff went above and beyond to please her situation. Our server was friendly, knew the food and made ordering very efficient. Can't wait to return. Since my name is the same as the restaurant's, it made the evening a lot more fun."

  • "Wonderful views of the city, casual/cool atmosphere, inventive, yet not over the top menu, and save room for dessert!!! Great addition for Nashville."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "A couple of us went to try this new restaurant in the Gulch. We had a couple of the salads which were fresh and delicious and shared the gnocchi and chicken for dinner -- both delicious. Then we finished our meal with the brownie sundae and coconut cake (all homemade) which were fantastic! We were very impressed with the fresh, simple yet delicious taste of all three courses. We will definitely be back soon!"

  • "The ambience of the outside patio was perfect for a date night. The food certainly lived up to its reputation. We had the Black Drum fish and it was excellent, and the sauce with it was perfect. I have already recommended Adele's to many people. Thanks for a great night."

  • "Went on a Thursday night for a date. Very good food: the sweet corn risotto was incredible, as we're the jw potatoes (a must have). Service was terribly slow."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "I was excited to hear about Adele's coming to my neighborhood! Especially as a restaurant by Jonathan Waxman. However, I was slightly unimpressed. The food was good, but not amazing. We had the JW Chicken and the Crispy Trout. The chicken was absolutely delicious, but I would have liked some more accompaniments to it (which I guess is why they have so many sides you can order). My friend had the trout, which is actually fried, and it was a bit too salty. Also could have used some kind of accouterments with it. The service was slow, and we felt a bit forgotten in the corner (there was a table of about 20 near us). But, these are all things that a new restaurant is working out...so I will try it again soon! Awesome atmosphere, big and open."
    Dined on 7/9/2014
  • "One of the best meals I've had in Nashville to-date! So happy that Chef Waxman decided to put his legendary roasted chicken and potatoes on the menu. Everything was outstanding (meatballs + polenta first course, risotto for second course and then chicken, ribs and potatoes for 3rd course and a whiskey gelato for dessert). Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Really enjoyed the pan cooked pizzette. Very tasty. We all enjoyed the jw chicken, beer braised pork ribs and grilled redfish. The dessert was great (German Chocolate Cake & Hot Brownie). We arrived early (5:15 pm) and they filled up quick."

  • "Overall a wonderful experience. The service was very attentive although it did take a little longer than normal for the food to come out. The food itself was sensational! Pizette was a great app. The Beef Tenderloin was out of this world as was the chicken and the JW Potatoes. Just a wonderful meal top to bottom from a world class chef. My only recommendation is to get the newer wait staff up to par. Our main server was great but her trainee was well, a bit wet behind the ears."

  • "What a wonderful dining experience. We had a friend in from New York and we decided to try Adele's. everything was fantastic from the appetizers to dessert. The freshness of the ingredients is over the top. We had the tomato basil appetizer and the freshest tomatoes I have ever had. The roasted corn risotto was the most flavorful food I have had in a long time. This is going to be "The place to eat" in Nashville. We will be back, we will tell everyone we know how great it is, and be confident in doing so!!!"
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "The atmosphere is modern, minimal and industrial. They also have outside seating and garage doors that open for the inside seating. The dishes varied from ok to very, very good. Service was a but slow, but can be expected with a new restaurant. Overall would recommend !"
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Love the decor and vibe. Service has been attentive and kind both times we have gone. The food is good - but not outstanding. All of the dishes we have had (about 10 in total) - have been under seasoned and would have benefited significantly from salt."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Nashville's casual restaurant scene doesn't mean that you won't find stellar food in the city. This statement is exemplified by Adele's, a repurposed garage serving cocktails, starters and entrees fit for a more formal five star establishment. Trendy without trying to be so, Adele's service is excellent and our food was groomed to perfection by the wait staff before being brought to table. The simple, "clean" and non-fussy dishes are augmented by cocktails with fresh ingredients that don't overpower. Adele's is a simple pleasure and we hope to go there again and again."
