  • "Really nice atmosphere and really great food. I would recommend this place to anybody."

  • "I was very pleased with the service, ambience and the menu. I highly recommend the BLT. It was excellent! I can't wait to go back to check out the dinner menu."

  • "Innovative menu, done in an excellent manner. The stacked fried green tomatoes were wonderful. The redfish was light, flakey and moist."

  • "It is a neat place with good food. But the beef tenderloin tasted like fish! It was apparently cooked on the same grill the fish was. My daughter could hardly eat it. Hopefully they will not do that again."

  • "We had the fish tacos and they were to die for...It was late for lunch and we sat in the bar for privacy. The music was very "energetic" but we asked if they could turn it down and they were most pleasant about doing so. Service was impeccable (sp?) and very helpful with questions."

  • "My spouse and I went to Acre for an upscale dining experience on our date night. We were looking forward to a peaceful experience "kid-free" for an evening. The atmosphere was relaxed yet formal. We were dressed business casual and were very comfortable. We noticed other patrons we dressed semi-casual and others were more formal. It appears to be the place for business dinners, date nights, and relaxing with friends. The food was superb from appetizers, to main course, to dessert. Our waitress was very knowledgable and accommodating. All of the staff was courteous. Noise level was low so you could engage in conversation easily. Overall we had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Auburn, Alabama, having all the amenities associated with a small, relaxed Southern university town, is full of great restaurants - from bar b q, oriental, indian to home cooking to 5 star dining experiences. Acre really stands out in the very competitive crowd. They source as much of their food locally as possible, and even raise some of their vegetables onsite. The service is extremely family familiar friendly and the food is prepared to perfection every time. This was our 4th visit, including our 38th wedding anniversary and we have not been disappointed in one single item or aspect."

  • "Wonderful, very rustic atmosphere which was very appealing. Great choice of wines from all over and a very cool bar area. More of a special occasion place, because it is a little pricey, but worth every penny. They have their own butcher's block, so all the meats start and are cooked on site which is very rare! Definitely will be going back to Acre again!"

  • "What a fantastic new "goto" place in Auburn, AL. New restaurant hits on all cylinders in our thinking, beautiful, new, architecturally stunning, great menu of fresh farm to table delights and great service. Our new favorite place to eat in Auburn."

  • "I took my family visiting from out of state to Acre, and was very pleased with our experience. The service was excellent, our waitress was the perfect mix of friendly and helpful with being overbearing. The food was incredible, we had a meat platter to start, followed by a walnut salad, and finished with the bread pudding. I would also recommend this restaurant for entertaining business guests as well."

  • "Drove over from Montgomery, reservations at 6:30. Valet parking was a nice surprise, sat promptly at 6:30. Sat on the "patio", server was extremely friendly and helpful. Started with the butcher board, just enough of each type to satisfy. Enjoyed the friendly wine list, great compliments to all of our dishes. Next had a spring salad and fried-green tomatoes with pimento cheese and crab meat. For entrees we had the snapper and rib-eye, both were delicious and cooked to perfection. Ended the meal with coffee and bread pudding. Needless to say, we will be back and have already recommended this to several family and friends. A true Southern gem in Auburn."

  • "My husband and I are here for our anniversary. Both couples on either side of us were there for the same reason. Acre uses only local products, which I appreciate. I don't mind paying for a great meal that also supports the people in my area. I had the best braised lamb I've ever tasted- tender, succulent, and done perfectly. The best part of the entree, however, was the Brussels sprouts. They were amazing! The sweet potato bread pudding was good, but I would rather have splurged in another Hummingbird cocktail for the calories. For a foodie's taste of Auburn, try Acre. I will be back!"

  • "We have been wanting to try out Acre's for quite some time. Either our schedule or booked reservations had kept us from it. We had heard it was very good from several of our friends. When we arrived and seated it was a very laid back atmosphere. Our server was very helpful in all aspects. He was friendly with a good attitude and great knowledge of the menu and the wine selection. The food was incredible. I had the lamb shank and the meat was very well cooked. It was juicy, with a great taste and the meat just fell off the bone. All in all it was a great experience and will certainly be back!!"

  • "Very well thought out- new concepts in the menu style and options. Tastefully decorated with fabulous outdoor dining. The garden is perfect- as well as the name of the restaurant. The food- fresh ideas and ingredients- delicious. Best wishes!"

  • "This was our second time dining at Acre and we enjoyed it once again. The shrimp and grits were particularly good. We shared the S'mores Pot de Creme for dessert--it was amazing!"

  • "Our family of 6 plus a 9 month old selected Acre as our location for a family lunch. We dined on the enclosed patio and had a delightful lunch. Our server, Chris, took excellent care of us. We each ate a different entree and everyone enjoyed their selection. All the food is fresh, excellently prepared, and presented. Don"t leave without trying the bread pudding! It is excellent!"

  • "My wife and I heard from friends that Acre was a nice place to go for dinner so we decided to give it a try. Was a good crowd when we got there at 5:45 but was not over crowd. They accommodated my request to be seated in a quiet area because of my hearing loss. We really enjoyed the service and the food was really good. The menu had a wide price point which can accommodate guest that are looking to stay on a budget or spend money. Will definitely go back soon."

  • "My wife and I absolutely love this place. The changing menu allows for you to try all sorts of new and flavorful foods. The atmosphere is awesome...like being in a dining room at home. It's really awesome to know exactly where you food comes from and Acre does an incredible job of letting you know....right down to the captain's name and the boat on which he caught your fish."

  • "Clever architecture, inventive menu, reasonable prices, service was poor, food was good not great. We were very disappointed in the cheese plate, and we love cheese. The beet salad and the strawberry salad were very good. The burger was good, shrimp and grits was very good - small portion though. The service was way off. The cheese plate we ordered as an appetizer was brought out with our salads and poorly presented, we had to ask twice for creamer, had to ask for drink refills, we were not served bread until very late in our entree course when we finally found our waiter - and again had to ask for something that was supposed to be brought out as part of our service. Still Its a refreshing addition, and I'm sure it will only improve."

  • "The food was outstanding!! One of the best meals we've had in the area. Our server was fabulous - very attentive but not overly so. He even brought us out a special dessert as we were celebrating our weeding anniversary that night. The only complaint we had was that we were seated at a table VERY close to another table, so at times it felt like we were dining with strangers. It would have been nicer to have been seated in a booth or a more "private" area. However, this complaint isn't enough to keep us from celebrating there in the future. The food was out of this world."

  • "I traveled to Auburn with a recommendation to visit Acre, and I was not disappointed; an innovative menu, original drinks, a solid beer selection, and attentive yet unobtrusive service made this a wonderful dining experience. Would love to come back here and see other daily menu specials and seasonally inspired meals. I highly recommend Acre."

  • "Very overated...all preperations just not that inspiring. Cocktails good when we finally received them..but polling my group of 4 no one said the food stood out..and we dine out a lot. For what is charged needs a lot of work. Boudin balls taste...well there was no taste..the salads were dry and lufeless..the lamb shank was stringy and poorly prepared. The service was slow due to understaffing."

  • "We were in town and taking relatives to dinner - enjoying the food and the time together. The manager needs to find a way to graciously ask customers to finish so someone else can have the table. To spend that much money on food and wine and to be rudely dismissed is unacceptable. I have eaten at lots of busy and well respected restaurants and have NEVER been asked to hurry up and leave."

  • "What a vibrant place! We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. We had reservations, so our table was waiting for us when we arrived. Our waiter was excellent. The food was good and fresh and reasonably priced. The bar looked really cool."

  • "I have been wanting to eat at Acre since before it opened and I finally made my way there. The service and the food were phenomenal. It was worth every penny!"

  • "Even though this restaurant is a few months old, it can compete with some well established restaurants. David has created a haven for great food. His twist on fine southern favorites is amazing. The service staff is great. But the restaurant is gorgeous making the entire experience top notch. Can't wait to go back."

  • "My husband and I planned to go to Acre for Valentine's Day and made reservations a month ahead of time. It didn't disappoint. They were offering a set menu for the occasion. I had the strawberrry walnut salad, prime rib and champagne sorbet. I needed gluten free options and they were very helpful in offering substitutions if needed for some of the items, but I just had the ones already gluten free. If you're going for a special occasion, such as Valentine's Day, be prepared for a higher cost and a set menu instead of their usual menu."

  • "We had a Valentine's Dinner and it exceeded all our expectations. The meal was good to the last drop. From the freshness of the appetizers ,the savory flavor of the Grouper and the chargrilled tenderness of the Filet, to the sweet flavor of the sweet potato bread pudding , the total experience was grade a.highly recommended!"
