Diner Reviews
  • "We had relatives staying in DUMBO and my husband works in the Financial district of NYC. So I needed to find a great Italian place for dinner accessible to everyone including our 10 yr old daughter. I went on open table and found Acqua at Peck Slip. Thank you Gerardo for excellent service. The food was so delicious we had no leftovers- Pizza, pasta, rib eye steak, spinach ravioli, Linguini and clams, spinach salad, pear salad, tiramisu. The only leftover we had was some of the chocolate mousse just because we were full. It was chocolate decadence at its best. They did a wonderful job accommodating our food allergies. We will definitely return. Our relatives from DC wanted authentic Italian, and they were not disappointed."

  • "Grazie a tutti! The dinner and ambiance was perfect. I would not recommend the venue for large groups, but the restaurant is prefect for diners of 4 or less per table. Acqua at Peck Slip is also great for a romantic dinner date and/or a couple of drinks at the bar. Ciao for now!"

  • "The initial greeting made us feel like we were in a familiar place. The service was amazing, so very friendly. Food and wine were great. We can't wait to go back."

  • "Do not order the "ceviche" - not as advertised on the menu. "Rib-eye Steak" if you can call it that was over-cooked and bland. Slow service. Overall not a great restaurant."

  • "Fabulous fresh food, nice menu with variety but not overwhelming. They make their own bread and it's delicious. Lovely service. Nice ambience, very hip."

  • "We were not prepared for the "See Change" Event that was taking place in the South Street Seaport Historic District the night of our dinner reservation at Acqua at Peck Slip. The staff took good care of us, but it was a hectic evening for everyone, and not what we had been looking forward to."

  • "We were outdoors on the sidewalk with an umbrella -- extremely nice but not a real garden and therefore not "great." Hard for staff to attend people both indoors and outdoors, and that was fine with us. On a beautiful evening with a light breeze, my friend and I sat and talked for 4 or 5 hours and no one suggested we should leave!"

  • "This is a charming restaurant in Fidi. The neighborhood is cleaning up and the restaurant is very close to the East riverfront. They accommodate young children and is a good pick for brunch/lunch especially if you want to have a conversation (the noise level is enjoyably quiet). I recommend the Tiramisu for desert."

  • "My first visit here was for lunch and it was very enjoyable. The food was really delicious. We requested an outside table, which they happily accommodated. The table could have been a little bigger - it was a little challenging to fit everything, but overall that was a small detail. Would definitely return to try some other dishes."

  • "Acqua at Peck Slip is a top notch addition to the South Street Seaport Historic District which has not been known for it's quality restaurants for decades. A welcome reopening after "Sandy" finally took place on May 24. We had a delicious meal and look forward to our next visit."

  • "Food is great, I always feel welcom, food is always excellent, oh I said it:) They just changed their menu, I don't like changes, but the new pasta I had there Friday was amazing. Decent vine selection, absolutely gorgeous space, high ceiling absorb lots of noise, all together my fav."

  • "We made reservations (site unseen) at 3PM for 7 at 7PM on a Friday 5/2/14 via Opentable from the train on the way into town. We were on time and when we got there the table was set and ready to go for us. The service was excellent. The food was both beautiful and delicious in particular the lobster salad was exquisite. We all had a lovely time there and highly recommend it."

  • "Wine List was nice and reasonably priced. Entrees were good. Taglieri of meat plus another taglieri of meats were not ample .... rather miniscule for the price... both together made up an antipasto for one... perhaps two small eaters. Hard wood chairs were extrremely uncomfortable and would be the reason I may not return.......... crippling!"

  • "The restaurant was recommended to me by a client who heard the food was good. The three of us met for lunch and we were able to hear ourselves speak and talk business without having to shout. I would describe the atmosphere as comfortable and warm. We ordered an appetizer and they gave us an extra "special" shrimp appetizer as the chef was working on a new recipe, and the owner gave it to us for free. We all enjoyed our entrees and they ranged from pasta, salmon and tilapia. The desserts were excellent but they were missing a few items from the menu that day (the only negative part of the experience). I was even pleasantly surprised at the prices as I would have expected to pay a lot more for the quality food and atmosphere. "

  • "Our waitress continued to come over and ask for our order for drinks & appetizer and we had just sat down! It was 830 and the restaurant was busy but no one was waiting...we honestly felt like hurry up and order so we can get you your food and you can leave! Other than that the food was AMAZING!"

  • "Dining alone in Manhattan causes anxiety. Will I be treated like a pariah or a paying customer. Will I rushed or allowed to sip and savour? Acqua at Peck Slip made me feel like a regular. The wait staff was thoughtful and answered my questions as if they didn't have half a dozen other tables to serve. The pasta was al dente; the vegetables were too."

  • "We just had our third dinner at Acqua and the quality and service has been very consistently high. My husband stumbled on it in January 2013. We were in the area for our son to attend an event at Pace University. Much of the area was still shut down following Sandy in late 2012 and Acqua had just reopened for business. Everything we have every eaten here has been excellent. We travel to NYC from Texas and look forward to a meal at Acqua when we are here."

  • "A bit loud, and service was friendly but slow. The food was decent, but nothing too special. Reasonable prices, and a good choice if you're near the Seaport and in need of a decent sit-down meal."

  • "Acqua is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, certainly my favorite in the Financial District. The brick interior walls of the restaurant make it warm and inviting, the staff is always friendly and attentive, and the food is consistently very good. Whenever I have to take someone to lunch, I always come here. I would say what makes the restaurant special, though, is the staff. I am new to NYC, and it is so nice to be welcomed back each time with a smile and greeting of recognition."

  • "Came here with my girlfriend for Valentine's day, we made a reservation but I think some people arrived without and found seats reasonably quickly. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I had the steak with arugula, tomato and parmesan, which I highly recommend. It was a little noisy but not unpleasantly so."

  • "Was in NYC for a business trip, just landed, wanted to get a bite to eat and a glass of wine before heading back to the hotel. Egzona was my server and she was just great. I was there early so not overly busy but started to pick up - felt like a nice local gem. Of course - it is important to note the food was very good. I had the pasta bolognese - which I never order ,but Egzona recommended & she was right, it was excellent. And the wine was very good, and nice portion....thank you! Loved the location, loved the decor felt in sync with the area. Everyone was great, had a fun time talking to another patron and the staff when not serving."

  • "Acqua is our favorite neighborhood spot and seems to get better with every visit. This was our first time taking a large party there and it worked out well for that purpose--great service, energetic room but not too noisy to talk. The number of vegetarian dishes on their menu is a real blessing if you roll that way--try any one of the great pasta dishes, especially the tagliatelle with mushroom ragout."

  • "Extremely friendly and helpful server as well as the owner! We all got a appetizer and a fish dish - each cooked and flavored perfectly, but - It was the service that put it over the top. Wine list and specials was impressive. Will be back next time I'm in the city."

  • "The authentic Italian food at Aqua is always delicious, with hearty portions and great wines/drinks. This place is great for a special gathering or a casual date. It's cozy ambiance with exposed brick walls and wood furniture make it both classic and trendy, and the service is always perfect to top it off. On any given weekday Aqua will be full of diners as well as people getting drinks at the bar. This place has been, and will continue to be a go -to for great food in the seaport/peck slip area."

  • "I picked this place randomly. I was hoping it lived up to the very tempting menu and it was conveniently located to our hotel. We arrived to the most quaint little restaurant with bee lights all over and very casual elegance. The pasta was the strongest item on the menu which was al dente homemade and delicious. The pizzas although topped with tempting items like artichokes cured olives and imported meats were soggy on the bottom. Although this was just a slight disappointment as the desserts were wonderful with complimentary limoncello on the side. Wine list had great variety and range of pricing. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I would love to eat here again and will do so when I am back in NY for work or pleasure."

  • "Went there for New Year's Eve. Had a wonderful experience - great food (& lots of it) for a reasonable pri fix price. Returned 2 days later and had a fantastic, authentic Italian meal in warm surroundings. Great, flavorful tuna tartare - a bit of an Asian flavor, which is the perfect flavoring for tuna tartare. Linguine alla vongole & gamberoni (linguine with clams & shrimp) was amazing. Fresh clams with the perfect amount of everything flavorful - Yum! Surprisingly, although it's not a huge place and seems to have an active bar, we were not overwhelmed with a loud environment and could actually have a conversation without yelling - - a true rarity these days. Great neighborhood find. . already a favorite"

  • "We went on a cold winery night. Not much of a crowd and the service was great. We had a great time. The food was fabulous. The seasoning was very good. The meats were done as requested. We had several substitutions due to dietary restrictions and they were all done without issue and they were wonderful"

  • "My husband and I have been a long time fan of this restaurant - we even contributed to the rebuild after Hurricane Sandy. we were to show it off to our visiting grandchildren so we made a reservation for Christmas eve. I think the problem was the "special" menu. The servers were confused as to what was on the special menu and what was not. My two grandsons ordered the whole fish option but they are young and no effort was made to help them get rid of the head and the bones as has been our experience in other restaurants. The lamb osso bucco was wonderful but the fennel soup was bland and the desserts a disappointment. It takes a special effort to get down to Peck Slip, especially now that the streets are all torn up, Not worth the effort."
