Located within the Source, a reclaimed 1880’s refinery turned new epicurean marketplace in Denver’s River North District, Acorn boasts Chef/Owner Steven Redzikowski’s eclectic, contemporary American cooking in an approachable, family-friendly format, alongside Beverage Director/Owner Bryan Dayton’s ingredient-driven cocktails, and handpicked selection of artisan wines and beers.

Similar to its critically acclaimed sister restaurant in Boulder, OAK at fourteenth, Acorn’s culinary and inspirational foundation is its oak-fired oven and grill, which produce a seasonal, ever-changing menu of craveable, family-style small plates and entrées. Guests will also find a selection of favorite dishes from the menus at OAK.

  • "I really enjoyed my meal here. One thing I didn't like is they serve shared plates but request you order everything upfront. This threw off the timing of our service. My friend and I eat tapas style regularly. The thing we love about it is ordering until we don't wish to eat anymore. Ordering upfront makes this difficult to gauge. Luckily, our server was able to cancel one of our orders last minute because we were already full. Other than that, the service was ok. Our waitress was very attentive at first, but then kind of disappeared. I will return just for the pâté, which was amazing!"

  • "We enjoyed our visit because we could share unique food and celebrate my 34 year old son's birthday at the same time. The small plates worked well so we could try different foods. I liked risotto , ravioli with carrot filling. My son and husband liked the duck. We all liked salad with great mixed flavors. We had seven different dishes and we liked them all. Acorn made the birthday celebration special for my son and his wife and his parents by bringing a complimentary yummy desert, chocolate fudge. My son and his wife live close to this restaurant and said it lived up to their expectations and its popular reputation. We all would return here."

  • "It is a unique pleasure here in Denver to find such high quality food served with such consistency. The menu offers a wide variety of palate pleasers without being burdensome or overreaching. The staff seems to have brought back to life the often overlooked skill in the hospitality industry of actually remembering your name from the first visit and any particular food or beverage favorites that you may have. In addition the wait staff is attentive without crossing the line and inserting themselves into your dining experience or being intrusive. Since my first visit to Acorn I have been back with business clients as well as intimate friends and Acorn will continue to be my favorite place to dine in Denver. Bravo Acorn!"

  • "The black ink tagliarini was fantastic and the service was very attentive. We switched tables and the transfer was well done with several of the staff pitching in. My only knock is the wine by the glass list - limited choice and disappointing choices at that - was looking for something more to complement the delicious items coming out of the kitchen."

  • "I have been wanting to eat here for months and finally had the chance. Three of us had dinner and it was a wonderful experience. Great ambience in Rino - converted brick building with lots of charm. We split 7 dishes and had plenty of variety. Favorites included black ink pasta with calamari, - calamari was soft and melted in your mouth - veggies with potato gnocchi, duck breast & kale & apple salad. Service was impeccable. Great new restaurant to complement the Denver dining scene!"

  • "Buon Cibo and Buon Vino (Good Food & Good Wine). The food and service is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Acorn. The single drawback was the glaring sun - hot on our bodies and shining in our eyes! The staff tried moving a large umbrella. It shielded some of the sun; but, not totally. I might suggest tinting the "garage door" windows or installing a shade."

  • "I truly enjoyed Acorn - great food, fantastic service in a really cool space. I love what they did with Source marketplace, and I've been to Comida and the other bar in there a couple of times, but this was my first time dining at Acorn. I thought the lamb schwarma and the fish were especially tasty, and I loved the sweet corn risotto though it wasn't quite as special. But what I thought was the best was their selection of non-alcoholic drinks - how fun to go out, not drink, but still have a number of tasty, refreshing options that weren't water or soda. A great idea that other restaurants should take up as well. I will definitely be returning to Acorn and would absolutely recommend to those who haven't been yet."

  • "Love this place. First, the food and service were outstanding. We had a number of small plates to share and everything was simply delicious - kale salad, squash, lamb, meatballs in grits, etc. Note, the sharing plates are larger than expected. We were advised to aorder 2-3 per person, but that was too much food for us (3 40+ women). If you have a large appetite it will be OK. The place is also "happening" and lively. You'd never know its in an industrial part of town. Go here. You won't regret it."

  • "There for our first time to celebrate 27 year anniversary, recommended by 2 different "foodie" friends. Seating was horrible; metal base stools with 2x6 lumber as the seat...stiff, uncomfortable and class-less. The beet salad was the best of our four selected dishes, red fish second, meatballs were nothing special but the polenta was amazing. Then the Duck. It was served essentially raw, it was purple, we sent it back, when the new dish was brought to the table the waitress said "this medium temperature should be more to your liking". She never asked for temperature preparation at original order, making us feel as though we were being difficult. Kudos to them for picking up tab on Duck ($22), and a round of drinks. No repeat for us."

  • "We really loved this place. Went for a date night. The food was excellent- the hamachi crudo and the gnocchi in Parmesan broth really stood out. Also the caramel izzard brioche dessert was really wonderful! Everything was good, and there were many creative combinations that worked well. We really enjoyed the small plates style- it will be fun to go back with more people to try more dishes. It's not often that you find a place where every dish is so well thought through. My only wishes are that there were more oak grilled items on the small plates menu and that they could bring the noise level down a bit."

  • "My first time at The Space and eating at Acorn. Can not wait to return - especially while the weather is nice. Was I really still in Denver?? There few buildings like this in Denver - out warehouse space. The architects did a great job. The food at Acorn was amazing!!! Find yourself there ASAP. Parking lot to the west is available. You do not need to squeeze in right in front. Plan to shop for other foods and allow extra time."

The table setting being close to outside, but not actually outside was just perfect. I need to tell you however that the greatest thing were all the people. The host, bartender, and waiter all had such a great sense of humor, including other members of the staff that server. To be honest they are what made the evening perfect!"

  • "Acorn has definitely has established a strong reputation as they were booked on a Monday post July 4th holiday, that speaks for itself. Really superior service, and knowledgable staff. Cocktails were spot on and really refined. Loved the menu, but thought a few things were home runs and a few dishes were lacking just a bit of delicate touch from truly being top notch. Egg & Bacon salad, Summer Squash Blossoms, Squid Ink Tagliarini were all intricate and dynamite dishes. The meatballs, short ribs, and shimp & grits were all delicious, but just lacked a bit of restraint to make them truly memorable. Overall, this is not a complain just an honest review by a food lover. Will and would certainly go back to try new things next time."

  • "While visiting from Los Angeles, we tried Acorn on a recent trip to Denver. Acorn was a little hard to find, hidden inside a trendy, renovated old brick building in an industrial area. (The sign outside says "The Source".) The food at Acorn was deliciously inventive with beautiful presentation and the service was pleasantly attentive without hovering. On our first visit we were seated outdoors on the patio and enjoyed a lovely sunset while trying numerous small plates shared "family style". We made a second visit before leaving town, tried some different dishes, and we were just as delighted the second time around. This was the best restaurant we've tried in a long time."

Cocktails to die for, anything you order is outstanding and the portions are perfect sizes.   • "I was taken here by my best friend for my Birthday & food, service & ambiance were all amazing! Moving from NYC I am a bit of a foodie and returned that following with with my husband! Fried pickles are great, meatball dish is fantastic along with any of the salads and of course the chicken was better than a Thanksgiving dinner! One of my new FAVORITE restaurants. Well Done."

  • "We recently took one of our friends to dinner here for her b-day. We had such a great time. We opted to go with shared plates. When dishes first started arriving we thought we would never get full. But...wow! We were so stuffed when we left. We probably could have done about 2 dishes less. But, they were just all so good. And the service was awesome! This will now always be on the top of my list. My only complaint is with the shared plates sometimes the numbers were off. An example: meatballs, there were 4 of us and only 3 meatballs. They should make adjustments for that type of plate."
